Food is always good here. Sometime the wait is long during the busiest times but worth the wait. I LUVTHEIRFOOD! Come here at least once a week. My fave… Tonkatsu… BBQ chicken… Bibimbop… Chicken tofu.

A friend warned me about this place because she found bright red blood in her plate of Kalbi once. I still went. Cons: 1. The food is overpriced and not very good. I could hardly eat my very badly burnt BBQ chicken. It was also very oily! Yuck! I actually feel sick now. 2. The ladies at the front will snap at you if you make any changes to the order after they send the order to the back. The daughter is especially rude. Poor customer service and not flexible at all. Thankfully I never have to experience their bad food and bad service again.

The service is always friendly and fast. The food fresh and delicious. Even though I frequent the place every several months, the two kind Korean ladies always remember me and treat me like a regular. The spicey pork is delicious, and they serve it cut bugogi style, so no knife required. It’s full of flavor, and the sides are abundant and Ono as well. The price for my full meal was about $ 11, not including the bottle of water I purchased, and that’s reasonable for downtown. The location is convenient for those of us working smack in the middle of the financial district. My BBQ is MYBBQ!

They only give one veggie when you get a soup now. Used to be four veggies… which is the standard. Not cool.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me … despite the not so great reviews for them, my feet still walked in their direction!!! I guess cause it’s a holiday today, no crowd. Every time I’ve passed here there’s been a line going out the door. So it MUST be good right? Ah … Let me just start off by saying the the korean ladies at the counter were very nice, great customer service. We joked around in Korenglish(you know, Korean and English!) I only know a few words and phrases thanks to all the k-drama I watch. Didn’t have to wait very long either to get my food. Being that this is technically ‘fast food’ you cant complain. Or can you :/ I ordered the kalbi/chicken plate … with japchae, bean sprouts, tofu and seaweed. I appreciated the fact that they separately pack your food from the banchan. And you really can’t mess up banchan … Unless you down grade everything. I was so disappointed when I dug into it. Anyone who has eaten korean food with me, knows that I can eat banchan for days! I get myself full off of it before my entrée ever hits the table! I can’t say that the same thing happened here :( Japchae was tasteless. nothing! Bean sprouts tasted like it was just soaking in water before they put it in the metal serving thingamabobs. The seaweed … dear god … how salty do you need to make it? And the tofu? The only way you can mess up tofu is if you have it soaking in the wrong sauce … I don’t know what they did to the poor tofu … I took a couple of bites from each and closed the container back up. I open my other container that held the rest of my food. I don’t get it. Two pieces of chicken that looked over cooked. and ONE ‘piece’ of ‘kalbi’ with a HUGE bone(see pics) … Tasted like they had the same marinade for the chicken and kalbi … I wouldn’t doubt it’s used on the bulgogi too :| Everyone was right though, the level of meat quality lacked. I ate half of one chicken and a small piece of kalbi. And that was the end of my lunch … I wish I had detoured and gone some where else … because now I feel all queasy . So if you are ever in the area looking for something to eat … stay away from this place if you value your stomach. There are so many better places in the downtown area to eat at … They got two stars from me simply because of the ladies in the front.

This place is great! It is walking distance from my tea spot, teapresso. Decided to give it a try. The meat and sides were very tasty. The kimchee was pickled right, in my opinion, not too salty. New favorite spot for a quick bite.

Had the fish Katsu and meat Jun combo. Food was good but wish they gave a little more for the price. Vegetables were ok. They also sell bentos to go. Small place in downtown with seating outside. Overall if your looking for quantity look elsewhere. Plates run from 10.50 and up.

We are just finishing up lunch here and I will never return. To begin, we walk in and there is only one woman taking orders and cash only payments from customers, using no gloves or washing her hands between serving and taking cash. When it was our turn to order the lady was very rude and rushed us through our selection. Monitoring how she was quickly imputing our total on her calculator, I noticed she had charged is $ 2.25 per can soda. Not thinking anything of it, we paid and for our food. I went back in to get napkins and noticed sodas were listed for $ 1.00. When I questioned her for my change back, she became combative. Eventually she agreed to give me my change, after a few minutes of back and forth. Customer service is horrible here!

I got a meat jun mini plate for lunch here the other day. It’s fun to be able to pick your own sides, and they seem to have a good variety. The quality of the food though is pretty low. I’m not a fan. #100in2015(#13)

Fave lunch spot of my coworkers at the office. Small Korean shop run by a family. Veggies and sides are always fresh and authentic tasting, but the ladies at the registers can be a little stingy when packing them. Would it kill em to add a little more kim chee or choi sum per order? Line can get lengthy depending on the time, I would suggest before 11:30am or after 1pm to avoid the business lunch crowd. Prices are reasonable with minis around $ 7 and full plates around $ 11. My boss always orders the fish or meat jun, made to order. And my go-to is the veggie plate, without rice, so its 5 choices of veggies from the side bar. This establishment also takes odd hour orders– so if youre ever too lazy to cook dinner, stop in during lunch hour to order food to go before they close. Last pickup is 4:45 on weekdays. Tip: Be nice to ze ladies, they just might pack you a bit more sides.

Pretty much everything ordered has been a great option. The food is consistent in quality of taste. The owners are so welcoming and the location is convenient for the business district goers. One of my favorite Korean take out places for chicken Katsuya and fried mandoo!!!

I don’t really have high expectations for a take out Korean lunch place downtown — as long as it’s cheap, filling, and doesn’t give me food poisoning! They’re known to have huge portions. I had a mandoo plate for $ 9 and I got like 7 – 8 mandoo, a heap of rice, and four sides. This fed me for like 3 lunches. What a deal.

I am a sucker for fish jun & mandoo combo plates at Korean restaurants. That is the Korean plate in which I compare and review all Korean plate-lunch style joints. Mandoo was pretty good, but the fish jun was just NOT. However, they give a good portion for the veggies, which I often buy alone to eat with whatever I packed for lunch that day.

8.16.13. I used to come here every week… to the point where the ladies recognized me & would give me extra helpings of the veggies I would choose :) Sadly, those ladies that I used to know aren’t working the front area anymore?! But thankfully these new women up front are just as generous! I’ve only tried the Meat Jun + Mandoo Combo(~9); this is one piece of meat jun &4 pieces of mandoo. The meat jun is the clear winner out of the two; tender, flavorful and the egg to meat ratio is good. The mandoo is homemade and stuff with meat, veggies & clear noodles yum! The best part is the dipping sauce! The combo meals come with your choice of 4 veggies(mini’s come with 2 choices); I am listing relative placement if you are looking at the counter… I always go with the shredded daikon(radish, bottom right), dried daikon(top right), chop chae/noodles(mid section), tofu(top left). All are super yum! Great place where a regular sized meal can last for two eating periods. I think I’ll be coming back here again more often… like before haha. Unilocal 365 Challenge: #227/365

Pretty average fast food Korean BBQ take out. Tiny place near Jack in the Box. Likes: Portions are decent for the price, and the sides are in a separate container, so your main dish and rice is pretty full. They accept credit card! Dislikes: I get the meat jun, but it’s pretty oily, especially the ones at the bottom. Make sure you have paper towels! Also, the BBQ has a lot of liquid. There aren’t many choices for Korean BBQ in the downtown so if you want some Korean BBQ for lunch, I’d say this is the«best» place(pretty much by default). There’s another place in Pioneer Plaza, but I don’t see a real kitchen in there, so I’m kind of scared to try.

I had my Korean food craving. Since I didn’t want to carry food on the bus from Ala Moana, I decided to come here. The worker was patient with me as I looked at the menu before I ordered. I got a mini beef plate. For about seven dollars… I could have gone to L&L for their chicken katsu plate. When you hungry though, it fills you up. I like the veggies I got with it(corn and beansprouts). At least she asked if I wanted a fork or chopsticks.

I had some time to kill after my court date so I found this little mom and pop K shop and ordered up some lunch. They have a pretty good sized menu but for some reason, I gravitated towards my old go to dish, chicken katsu. The katsu itself wasn’t as oily as most other Korean BBQ places but there was a long black hair in my veggies. Needless to say I chucked the veggies(since it came in a small separate box) and just finished the katsu and the rice. Would I come back here again? Nope.

Two critical observations on my bi bim bap from My BBQ: 1. Where’s my egg? No egg on top. I want my egg. Can it be bi bim bap without an egg? 2. Small portions. This is the first time I’ve eaten a Korean plate lunch and still been hungry when I’m done. Four vegetables(one was plain raw cucumber — what am I? A rabbit?). Two bites per veggie. Bulgogi — three bites. One scoop of rice — six bites. The sauce was on the side in a thimble-sized cup. All totaled, less than 20 bites and 6 minutes and it was gone. So was my $ 8.90. Unilocal 31 days Challenge: 12⁄31 Korean bbq plate at affordable prices. I was just craving some Korean banchan, so I ordered their side vegetables for $ 4, which gives you three choices of veggie. If you want to make it into a meal, vegetable plates are $ 6.

I love meat jun. The meat jun here is among the worst I have ever eaten. The meat they use is tough and super chewy. You can tell just by looking at the meat that the texture is weird. I stay away from this place completely because of the low quality of the materials they use.
