Monarch Room

Pretty good sashimi and sushi for a buffet.

It was my first day back at work from a few days of vacation. I was in the middle of a data mining training when my boss swung by my office, asking me if I had any lunch plans. To say the least, I was happy because I hadn’t made any home lunch and my usually lunch pals already had plans.
So I told her no I didn’t and she invited me to attend a Mayoral Debate with her. I eagerly accepted wanting to hear more from our potential Mayoral candidates on their perspectives about various local issues.
But that wasn’t the best part – the lunch was being held at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel Monarch Room. Yippie!
God and the angels must have been watching over me today! I not only scored a free lunch AND was able to see the potential Mayoral candidates in action, I was able to do this in the beautiful, breathtaking Monarch Room… can you say BONUS?!
For those unfamiliar with The Monarch Room it resides in the beautiful Pink Palace. It dates back to the roaring 20s and has seen many a celebrity in its time. The location opens up to Waikiki Beach and while you dine, you can feast your eyes on the beauty of Hawaii’s ocean.
It’s also definitely perfect for networking and hobnobbing. I’ve attended both lunch and evening functions and the locale never ceases to amaze me.
I ALWAYS feel like I’ve stepped into another world when I enter that room and feel so special simply just being there taking in the elegance and ambiance of the place.
The cuisine itself was delish today and in the past, has always aimed to please. I’ve eaten both buffet and pupu stations, and the food has been topnotch. LOVE IT!
