Moe Academy of Aesthetics & Massage

I bought a Groupon and checked out Moe Academy, pleasantly surprise. No one gave attitude because I was there on a Groupon, everyone was sweet and respectful! For $ 5. extra I got to upgrade and have a facial with Eminence product and I LOVE Eminence, it was worth the extra fee. The student was excellent; she asked about the type of pressure I wanted for the massage, it was for the full length of time indicated on the Groupon, she had super soft hands, and while I was lying near another student and her customer, it was a quiet and relaxing experience. The teaching aspect of the experience was brief and felt non-​intrusive. I will definitely refer this «school» and and was delighted to find it. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, ONLY because the greeting area is truly not a «Spa» area and if this was in a neighborhood vs. Ala Moana Shopping Center, I would frequent it more often. I am not a fan of looking for parking at the shopping enter.

She’s gentle, comfy and her hand is super soft like a baby. They have complimentary arm and shoulder massage. Guess what? I got that too without even asking for it lol
It was too good that I ended up sleeping while she’s giving me my facials. It’s an amazing experience.
Before she find the product she analyze the skin and make sure she gave me what my skin needed. The teacher also is super friendly and guiding her sweetly.
Found the place because of groupon. So happy to be here.

Are you wanting to look and feel younger? See Dr. David Yew, MD. His treatments are amazing! His knowledge of Botox and other injectables is unmatched. Most people never guess my age, often thinking I am 10 years younger. Best part is, no one knows why! Of course I share my ‘secret’ ! I love that his explanation of the treatments are thorough, and he is very realistic about what your expectations should be. He always makes sure I am comfortable and his friendly demeanor makes it a pleasure to see him! Look younger, people! Go see Dr. Yew at Day Spa Moe!

This is the spa for you if you want a great facial that really cleans your skin and fixes problems. You know… the kind of facial that hurts a bit. They don’t have all the bells and whistles of a sauna room, etc. However I highly recommend this place for great facials.

I finally was able to use a gift certificate that my son and his girlfriend purchased for me years ago. I booked a facial and wasn’t expecting anything much different than any of my past facials. I was greeted by Leslie who did my facial. She is really nice and personable and makes you feel comfortable. I was very pleased with the products that she used and service received. I recommend Day Spa Moe if you want a really relaxing quality facial. You can tell she was a professional.

Formerly Ampy’s a Day Spa, they still use the same great products. I like some Yonka products and I absolutely love Eminence. I like to try different spas for facials but when I need a serious facial that is result oriented as well as relaxing, I highly recommend this place. It is a very clean spa :)
My favorite esthetician is Susan, although I am bias because she is a close friend ;) But really, she is very knowledgeable, has great hands and is super nice yet fun. Dara is also fabulous. 5 stars for both estheticians as well as the products.
Don’t let the front reception turn you off! Book with Susan or Dara and you will not be disappointed :) And for those who need a deep cleaning, be sure to add on extractions! Prices are reasonable for the service you get.

I was a regular customer of ampy’s, held off on coming back for a while since they changed ownership and the prices initially went up. I saw a groupon for first timers so I bought it and immediately called to make an appointment with my favorite esthetician. After a frustrating few minutes dealing with the language barrier between myself and the recepionist with a thick accent I finally made my appointment. I then decided to buy a couple more groupons as gifts and called back to make appointments for them, that’s when my negative experience began… the same receptionist answered, same trouble with the language barrier then found out the place was closed on the day of expiration and the day prior (one of the gifts was for an out of town guest so my days to schedule for her were limited). After the owner agreed to extend the groupon to the day after the expiration, I was told I couldn’t request an esthetician if I’m making an appointment with a groupon. The receptionist realized I had called earlier to make my appointment and told me she cannot guaruntee the esthetician I had requested… IRRITATING especially since no where on the groupon conditions does it state that I cannot request an esthetician. I cancelled all appointments and returned the groupon.
My skin had a freak out a few months ago so I gave in and went to get help. Same annoying language barrier but once I was on the table, everything was EXCELLENT as usual. My skin felt and looked a million times better and my esthetician made the whole irritating experience go away almost instantly. If it weren’t for her, I would no longer be a customer here but she’s worth the trouble.
The spa service itself gets 5 stars
The whole spa experience gets 3 stars because of frustrations early on and they keep making me fill out papers with info that I have already filled out and given them just on a differently formatted sheet. They’ll get more than 3 stars once the front staff gets their act together.

Ampy has retired — sad face! Booked a surprise message for mi papa and the staff was helpful. I was told most of Ampy’s employees are still working. I was delighted to know that the woman who booked the appt was able to look up mi papa’s previous masseuse (at Ampy’s) and book her again. Love the continued loyal service! Will update after the service is done.
