Moa Ono Chicken

Moa Ono Chicken just opened today (January 10, 2015). They are located near the intersection of Mokauea Street and Nimitz Highway. They are located in the vicinity that Manny’s Huli Huli Chicken used to be. Look for a blue pop up tent and of course, the smoke.
We were warmly greeted upon arrival and found out that this place was opened by two childhood friends. How cool is that! Anyway, there was a person before me who ordered 2 chicken plates. They looked good! When it was my turn, I decided to order two whole chickens at $ 9.00 each, reasonably priced. They were each Packaged in a white plastic bag and it was served nice and hot. I couldn’t get home fast enough, as I was hungry and I didn’t want to make a mess tearing it up in the car. Thank goodness, I wasn’t driving or I may have gotten a speeding ticket. I’m sure no officer would accept my excuse by looking at me, and think I was being starved, lol.
After preparing some banchan to go with our chicken. The moment arrived to actually eat! I happily bit into my chicken and found it moist and full of flavor. So ono! We polished off one chicken at lunch and will surely devour the second one at dinner.
Besides the chicken, they offer steak. So, on my next run out I will have to give that a try, too!
Moa Ono Huli Huli Chicken, is open on Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 10:00 a. m till 4:00 p.m.
