I went in McDonald’s on Halloween. Service was terrible. I understand they’re busy; they screwed up a simple order three times. I was so pissed the chick taking my order was laughing and giggling to her self. You have one job fail!!! How can you screw up three times a sausage mcmuffin and a hash brown. Waste of time. Never again will I come into that McDonald’s. Horrible customer service.

Very friendly staff and the place is usually busy. Air conditioning currently down. Wish Hawaii had a no smoking within certain number of feet cause some people just hang out on the steps.

Trust when you live on the mainland you miss Hawaii Mc D menu! Saimen, and today a friend reminded me by bringing me Mc Poi Pie to cheer me up. First time I saw that it was an awesome college night of shenanigans taking place bar hopping Waikiki when I looked up and saw a huge poster advertising a Mc Poi Pie at this location. Waaah! Almost heard angels sing except it was us drunk happy college kids singing Drop Baby Drop to tourists instead. I know I miss the Mc Haupia pies too. Today in corporate America on the mainland«My heart did the Tango» when I received a gift of aloha. My Mc Poi Pie. Kuhio Mc. D’s right in Waikiki… I miss you.(Ok that was my ‘local’ review for my local peeps) now for real kine. (US mainland review version) Ok my mainland people if you are visiting the beautiful island of Oahu and are walking around Waikiki after admiring Diamond Head and laying on the beach. If you find yourself craving for Mc. D’s this store is right in Waikiki. Its on Kuhio and a lovely short walk from the Duke Statue. Walk on in, be greeted by friendly staff and you will find a familiar menu with a Hawaiian twist! As in Saimen noodles, Portuguese sausage– Spam– Egg breakfast, Haupia pie or Taro Pie. Fast quick service and be on your way back to the beach to work on your tan.

Came in to get a bit to eat. The restaurant was dirty. As busy as they are at this time they shut down a area to eat. The down side is that it’s very hot in the restaurant. The A/C vent was blowing hot air. Service was very rude. No one smiles.

Took too long to get a Six piece kids meal. Normally would be happy that everything is cooked when we ordered it but it tasted like it was undercooked or re heated maybe not happy at all

Really rude cashier, no restroom, and only had banana and apple pies(no taro, no haupia). Left empty handed. Won’t return.

Hate this location. The staff don’t care. All the customers stand wherever and some cut without a clear cut area where they are supposed to wait. The staff should be directing people to stand in a certain place to order. It is also SOOOOO slow. Seriously. Sometimes the line is out the door and the manager makes no attempts to make sure more people are on the register. Crap hole is what this location is.

Hawaiian breakfast good… but the eggs are… meh. Service is slow, but«Now Hiring» sign in the window. Can’t really complain, it was a decent experience. Haupia pie is a delish treat, if you think you’re going to share it… buy two, because he won’t share.

Facility is disgusting!!! Service is horrible and slow. Arrived 11:20 pm on a Wednesday night. No standards were met on my side of the restaurant.

The typical McDonald’s experience. Except there are some Hawaiian specialties such as haupia pie and spam breakfasts. Positive: It’s open 24 hours and in the heart of Waikiki. Features the new shaker fries. Negatives: no drive thru. Past midnight expect a crowd of drunken revelers.

**NOTE: This review is for the Haupia Pie only.** The Haupia Pie is a seasonal pie that you can only get in Hawaii. Haupia is a coconut-milk based dessert that is very popular in the aloha state. The McDonald’s Haupia Pie was deep fried and served warm. The haupia filling was delicious and the pie was crunchy, but it wasn’t anything special. I still prefer the original apple pie to this. In other words, «meh, I’ve experienced better.» Speaking of experiencing better though, if you ever go to Canada, try their caramel pie. It’s the best McDonald’s Pie in North America.

Don’t know why, but the breakfast platters with rice are inconsistent. Either the rice is too wet and inedible or too dry and hard and equally inedible. Sigh! Found out that I can request my Portuguese sausage to be «well done» so that it doesn’t come out undercooked! Have to wait about 5 minutes longer, but it’s worth the wait. Hope no one gets sick from the inadequate and poorly prepared food… Where are the McDonald’s standards?!!

To begin with this place is a shit hole. Especially after midnight only hookers and homeless and drunks and not a place that you trust the food I would take a picture of the hookers but pimp would beat the crap out of me. Is also a McDonald’s where the SS shot dead Da Hawaiian. the outside is a toilet for homeless. It really smells bad. I was out with my Marine buddies and stopped to see what I could get for $ 1… but most of the tables were taken by homeless(5) and I left when I saw manager over salt the cancer sticks … not sprinkle but dump his load in one spot and scoop up the order of fried GMO. And these are people demanding $ 15 an hour? Never go here unless your a drunk whore or homeless wanting to get free wifi.

Local«deluxe» breakfast — works in a pinch. My compatriot was tired of my never ending quest to eat every day at Shirokiya and besides, I didn’t see any«Hawaiian Breakfast» there. It was a hop, skip and jump from our hotel and I wanted to try the taro pie but the breakfast was filling and we’d had enough fried foods at that point. The novelty of ordering rice, spam, portuguese sausage and eggs at McD’s was sufficient rationale to skip Shirokiya for one day. Ah, but if you can make it over to Liliha Bakery … that’s a whole ‘nother story and likely my next«review.» Now that was AWESOME!

***Visited in October*** Canada’s McDonalds lack specials like spam breakfasts, banana pies and $ 520 Chicken McNuggets deals. It was worth the few dollars spent here. Very friendly, but it’s McDonalds. Everyone is friendly!

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. This is the worst chain of McDonalds on the island. Not only is the«renovated» method of ordering and pick-up useless but it creates congestion near the front of the store you’d think its a town hall meeting. I also hate that the menu it’s so ridiculously small… Since the ordering lines are on the left side of the counters, you can barely see the right side of the menu even if you’re 2nd in line to order. And I have 20⁄20 vision– go figure. If I wanted to get a closer look, I’d have to venture into the ‘pick-up’ area in order to see. Ugh. CHECKYOURRECEIPTS!!! True story– I placed an order for an egg mcmuffin meal w/orange juice only to find that my total was $ 8.50! Are you serious!!! For breakfast?! To fuel my disgruntlement, I saw a charge for pineapples on my receipt that I did not ask for nor offered by the cashier. Why the hell are you charging me ‘fresh cut pineapples?!’ Apparently, according to the supervisor/manager/incompetent idiot… pineapples automatically come with every meal. Wait a second, so McDonalds Kuhio takes your money without your consent? Isn’t that –what’s the word for this umm– RIPOFF?!! Oh yeah by the way, this«every meal gets a pineapple» deal is at Waikiki only… or so he says. Well I say this is a TOURISTTRAP! He reluctantly authorized my refund to the clueless cashier with no apology. I feel bad for all those who has fallen for this trap thinking yay pineapples I love Hawaii! What’s deceiving is the sign advertises it as ‘fresh cut pineapples with every value meal,’ however does not list a price next to it, insinuating that it’s free. Bullshit. Make sure you request NOPINEAPPLE and check your receipts the next time you’re here. Or not, that is if you want a few chunks of canned pineapple in a McDs cup for $ 1.50.

I had to come here to try the banana pie they serve here yet don’t in California. I was disappointed that it was the banana pie at first as I was hoping for taro or the coconut one. The outside is super crispy, they still fry their pies here which makes the difference and serves to upset me that we no longer do it in California. Crispy outside, the inside was a moist banana with cinnamon. It was REALLY good. I mean wow. Again, I am not big into bananas but this remanded me of a yummy bread pudding or some other type of decadent dessert that you would plunk out far more than $ 1 for. Yes I got breakfast. They even subbed out the meat for another egg for free which was super nice of them. Great service, and surprisingly one of the better little pies I have ever had in my life.
