have been coming to Karen-​Marie for about 2 years now. She is very professional and good at what she does. Her prices are lower than other salons but she doesnt short you on quality. Karen-​Marie is not only my go to lash person but now a friend indeed!

I have never been to Karen-​Marie before and I will definitely be back. I had my first appointment for eyelash extensions today at 10:30 and she is an absolute sweetheart.
My mom decided to take me to Karen as a birthday gift, I could not be happier with the outcome. She booked me for a full set, but when I went in and Karen and I started talking about what I wanted to achieve, I said that I wanted a more natural enhancement. Karen agreed because she only wants to enhance your natural beauty!
About an hour or two later I was done, Karen is extremely gentle with the procedure (I have never had eyelash extensions before and I didn’t know what to expect). She explained that I would need to come back in about 2 weeks to get them touched up.
Her online booking is easy to do, she does not take phone calls as she runs her business herself, so please TEXT her! I’ve already booked my 2 week retouch and I’m excited to go back. See you soon!

Just a disclaimer before you read this review and my review of Eyelash Extensions Hawaii. Eyelash Extensions Hawaii is a part of Studio-​Glam 808. My Eyelash Extensions Hawaii review is on that service. This review is for other services I’ve received from Studio-​Glam 808.
While I mainly come to Studio-​Glam 808 for my eyelash extensions, there are other services available. Such as facials, eyebrow waxing, tinting. There are also classes for makeup and eyelash extensions. I told that to my friend and she’s interested in learning how to do eyelash extensions, especially since extensions seem to be popular! If my friend does decide to take the classes and opens her own place, I will still continue to go to Studio-​Glam 808 because I would feel better seeing the instructor than the student!
Anyway, I got my eyebrows cleaned up here. Keep I’m mind, I’ve been trying to grow out my eyebrows because I got a little too careless and over plucked them! Yikes! Skinny eyebrows are so not in right now! Plus skinny eyebrows really age a person. So it’s been about a year and a half since I’ve had my eyebrows done. Ok I admit to trimming them, but that’s it. Promise. Note — the older you get, the longer it takes for eyebrow hair to grow back. Sure, your nose and ear hair grow like crazy, but eyebrows take forever! So it was finally time to get my eyebrows re-​shaped so they can frame the windows to my soul. You’ve heard about that, right? How your eyes are the windows to your soul. So you want nice frames for your eyes, because you never know who is falling in love with you. But I digress.
I told Karen-​Marie that I wanted to keep my eyebrows on the thicker side but to clean up and don’t make the arch so pointed. I didn’t want to look angry or cross. She was really quick and did follow my instructions. And the thing is that I felt nothing. No ouch. No blood. Oh, I can’t do waxing because of my acne medicine. She had to do tweezing. My eyebrows are so awesome now. And they go with my cools eyelashes. But that’s another review!
Karen-​Marie is a one woman shop. She books her appointments and returns texts all while doing the actual work for her business. Texting is her preferred method of contact. Mainly because she is with clients or students and gives her full attention, which I really appreciate because I would hate for her to have to answer a phone while she is in the middle of my procedure. I also appreciate how personal she is. You really got to trust the person who is doing the services to you when you have your eyes closed!
Just a couple of notes before I wrap up this review. Be prompt for your appointment. Make sure you give yourself enough time to find parking and walk over. Best parking is on Auahi street. You can chance it and park in the Ward Center’s lots but you are risking it. The reason I say be on time for your appointment is that because Karen-​Marie is a one woman shop, she cannot catch up on time if you are late. If you are late and she were to take you, you bump the next person after you. And that wouldn’t be fair for Karen-​Marie to short cut anyone’s time for their service. She wants to give the best service. And why do I know this? Because I was late to my appointment and I asked why not just take me. Yes, my fault for being late. But now I know.
So support the local businesses especially the one woman shops. There aren’t many one woman shops and I really do admire Karen-Marie’s work ethic. I want to take the makeup classes next. Especially since I don’t know how to put on makeup. Support local!

Glam808 is a scam.
Bought a coupon through livingsocial for a pair of facials. Contacted Glam808 before they expired and learned that she was only available Tuesday-​Friday. She also said she would extend the expiration date for another month, but couldn’t do two at the same time so we would have to block out 3 hours for this simple appointment, for which she had limited availability.
My guess is that she makes more money on facials she doesn’t perform.

I came here with a Groupon for a 60 minute Deep-​Cleansing Facial with an option of Dermabrasion or a Mini Peel, advetised as being worth $ 110. My appointment was at 1:00, but after finding parking, it was 1:05. Still, I was told there was «plenty of time» to use the restroom and I was given a long form to fill out. Then, I was told that my printed Groupon was not scanning properly with her phone. I had to go online and show the digital version (which still didn’t scan on her phone), and was eventually told «never mind» and was led into the treatment room. By then, it was 1:20.
The facial itself was very soothing with a comfortable area and soft music. However, it was quickly over, and the time was only 1:59. I asked if I had received the Dermabrasion or a Mini Peel, and was told that I had received neither because my skin was «too delicate,» although I’ve never had trouble with skin sencitivity. When I expressed disappointment that I had taken time out of my treatment to use the restroom first, she said «Well, facials usually don’t take a full hour, anyway.» I definitely understand that my being 5 minutes late would take time from my treatment, but 39 minutes without receiving the advertised treatments was very disappointing.
So the take-​home messages for here are: i) get here early for paperwork, ii) do not expect a full hour facial as advertised (as she said herself), iii) just because you pay for an option of Dermabrasion or a Mini Peel does not mean you will necessarily be receiving either one, and iv) the Deep-​Cleansing Facial is NOT worth $ 110 as advertised.

Update: I see that Studio-​Glam808 did change their website to now accurately reflect what is offered during this facial. Very good.
