Jack In the Box had always been a favorite of mine, the anti fast food establishment. It’s where, as their corporate motto says, «we won’t make it, till you order it.» I love that. You wait a little longer, but you’re guaranteed that freshness that sometimes is lacking in the fast food industries these days. The times I have come to the Jack In the Box location was due to necessity and convenience, since it was close enough to my work place and along the public transit route. Jack In the Box is a regional fast food chain, which had a few locations in Honolulu. They are famous for their curry French fries and their different assortment of burgers options. I do love their eccentric cute television commercials though. They try to be not like everyone else, and focus their product to those who love them the best. This Jack In the Box location is kind of perfect for me, since it’s right where I can get off the public bus at N King Street and Dillingham Boulevard, pick up breakfast, hop back on the bus, and be on my way. My experience here at this Jack in the Box location was good each time I come here. Fast and quick service, but you probably would have to wait a little bit for your order. My favorite options here would be the breakfast items, although the burgers are just as fun and delicious to partake. As aforementioned before, they’re known for their seasoned curly fries, so I usually get an order of that versus the regular fries. They have a value menu listing as well, comparable to McDonald’s $ 1 menu. Their tacos, which sells for $ 1 for 2 of them are a perfect snack item for those on the go. Once I ordered 6 of them for lunch and put those away in one sitting. Yes, I was so famished from a crazy busy morning at the office. That episode was fun and wild at the same time. The Jack in the Box location is right on the corner of Dillingham Boulevard /Liliha Street and North King Street. Can’t miss it really! This location of Jack in the Box is small, but has a lot of character. Sometimes it has air conditioning, sometimes, it doesn’t. I don’t really pay attention though, since the morning commute is fast paced and you’d want to get to the office as quick as you can. They have a private lot and a drive through option, but if you’re like me, a few bus routes travel from downtown through Dilingham Blvd and stops right across the street. Not to mention routes 1, 2, and 13 stops across the street on Liliha Street too. The prices at any Hawaii Jack in the Box can be a little pricey, but remain competitive with everyone else in the industry. For me, the breakfast options here at Jack in the Box can be a bargain. My favorite would be the ultimate breakfast sandwich, which is served with hash browns and coffee. I tend to get extras with the main combo, depending on if I need to get lunch as well on one trip. The Jumbo Jack is their signature burger. Although I do love their season curly fries, any and all fast food favorites are in moderation. Some of their snazzy sandwich offerings are really good, which included the recent portobello burger. I also tried the combo snack box too, which is loaded with stuff that is affordable with a lot of food. For the most part, Jack In the Box is a solid fast food joint that points the alternative to the burger Giants. Whatever you are feeling, whatever you like to eat, maybe give Jack in the Box your next hit for lunch. They accept major credit cards, which is always a plus. The only bad thing is that they don’t have free wifi. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. Support local! B

This place is Disgusting. There Is A STENCHIN there, like alcoholic beverages Were spilled there and never cleaned up. I went there to use the bathroom and order my food, food wasn’t disappointing. At least they are consistent with that. The staff is difficult to understand. Eh, go to zippy’s

I am glad to say that I was able to get to use my coupon for my Ultimate Cheeseburgers, which was buy one get one free. I am glad that they were able to put in the BBQ sauce in place of the mustard, onion-mayo sauce and ketchup, which I am not too crazy about. There was one thing that didn’t look too good. That would be the restroom. When I went to use it, I was a little bit surprised on how the paper towels were out and how it got broken. Also I was wondering how they are maintaining their restrooms because I didn’t like the way how these people can really damage the paper towel where it is touchless and people who use the restroom why these things are poorly maintained and I really appreciate the fact that there are signs that explains it is not a public restroom where people can use it as they please. So if people want to use the restroom, make sure that it is really well maintained so that people will want to go to the restrooms and not want to go somewhere else to go. I think it is ashame that people who use the restroom who are customers cannot use the restroom because it is not well taken care of. I just hope that the restroom will be better maintained everything is working properly.

If you are looking for the very worse Jack in the Box experience– come here. Really– just come here and lay down and die– I doubt it if anyone will notice. Am I being too harsh? No. Not really. OK– let’s discuss that first… Gee Darin, if someone dies, then usually they begin to smell and pee or dodo on themselves because they no longer have muscle functions. Why yes, you are correct, so then they will smell just like many of the other patrons that are usually homeless and live there during the day while IHS or the other shelters keep them out for the daytime.(Before I get bashed, I am not bashing on homelessness– I am commenting on policy of our human service systems that force people out of shelters during the daytime and those people do sometimes go to wherever there is air conditioning.) This location is very close to the women’s shelter. It is I believe the closest open space that has air conditioning. So if someone does die– would people notice because there is huge smells coming from different patrons every now and then at this location. What I really want to say is that the Government should be the employer of last resort. If there are the chronically homeless– then as a government, the US needs to employ them meaningfully so that they are not homeless. Point 2… the bathrooms are the worse I have ever seen at any JITB. You need a key and that still does not stop the misuse of the bathrooms. It is just an unclean, unkept, unnice and unwelcoming JITB. One of the worse traffic locations on the island is the King/Dillingham/Liliha crossroad. Traffic backs up especially with all the buses that stop right in front of JITB. Bad neighborhoods tend to bring bad karma. If people are mad about traffic, it is brought in with them into the restaurant. Unhappiness follows unhappiness. The drive through is the worse. On just normal hours, it takes forever to get your food. I get it there are less workers at this location so there is longer wait times if on the inside there is a line and then it just makes the drive through so much slower. But come on– make some food for rush hours ahead of time and have preps made so that there is not such a huge wait. On Ward and Kapiolani– it can be a long wait time at rush hours, understandable IMO. This place has horrible drive through on non-rush hours. So area wise– it is an unhappy place. As I mentioned in the drive through, there are long wait times. This one may not be owned by the other ones because– A. I rarely ever see a manager on duty. I’m sure there is one but not usually seen. B. the wait time is so long. There must be reviews and complaints about this. C. The building just looks run down. D. The drive through stinks. E. the place is normally dirty. F. Not that great of a location. Again, one can ask– why do you go there then– well thanks for asking. I help different adults that have disabilities(like a big brother) and they love JITB and ask to go and get a burger or smoothie and as we pass by this location and are waiting in traffic– they inevitably ask to go to get something. The food is the same as every other JITB. It is not an express even though it may feel like it. But the food is the same. There is no drink fountain to get refills or anything, those are behind the counter so you have to order and ask for your drink.

I usually always go to this Jack in the box because it’s on the way. I normally don’t have any trouble but today’s visit has made me want to write a review. First, the lady taking my order at the drive thru didn’t understand what I was saying. She ended up give me to someone else to help and he finished taking my order. When I got to the window the guy had to also take the next order a well because the lady had a hard time. When I got home, I didn’t have any hot sauce for my tacos!!! Omg. I had an odd feeling that I needed to ask for it because she already had trouble with taking orders that she’d probably forget my sauces! Oh well. Lesson learned. For future reference, hire people that can understand English to take drive thru orders. If they can’t, they should be in the back where speaking and understanding English isn’t the main skill required for the job. :/

This Jack is the worst! It literally took 25 minutes at the drive thru for 1 combo meal, sweet potato fries and 2 tacos. The employee kept getting the order for the 1 car in front of us wrong. Kept passing bags back and forth. Then when we finally got to the window, she had no clue how to manually run a credit card when the strip didn’t work. It took her so long to figure it out she remade our order. No apology, just attitude. Pulled in and ordered at 8:45pm, drive off with our food at 9:10pm! Lol… SP fries were still cold so I don’t think they were remade.

This location is the worst on this entire island. first of all fix your speakers or maybe your workers. when I got to the window. the worker got my whole entire order wrong. next she over charged me an extra curly fries when I told her a billion times that I wanted to switch my hash brown to curly. i was waiting in the drive through for almost 10min. worst workers ever. Maybe change your workers that don’t speak & hear English good!!!

this is probably the only Jack in the Box on the island that is not currently going through the much needed renovations that the rest of them are… there is no new paint on the outside. no new anything. looking from the outside, this looks like a JITB that you would get stabbed and robbed at… but looks are one thing… this Jack in the Box has honestly been the only one i’ve been to that repeatedly does NOT screw up the order. i’ve never had a screw up from them. i live near-by and have been here repeatedly and not once have they gotten my order wrong. i should mention, i also have never dined-in here either. i only do drive thru only at this one…

This location is not closed and it is very much open. I don’t know. For some reason I am never happy with this location of Jack in the Box. It creeps me out. My food tasted funny, and people look at me funny. I was just making sure that my order was correct and the cashier person was eyeing me out, like I was doing something wrong. When I was driving back home a haole couple pulled up with me to the first red light and started staring at me like they were looking at some aliens. Creepy.
