Great place to see a camera or rent one! They changed the name to Hawaii Camera.

Imageworks Llc. has been around since I was in high school when I needed to buy film equipment for class over a decade ago. Imageworks is one of the few places on Oahu to purchase film and photo developing supplies today. Photo paper, film, chemicals, tanks, squeegees etc. everything you need to develop and make prints. A good amount of 135, 120 and Polaroid film on stock as well. Prices are what you would pay for online + shipping. Which is reasonable. Imageworks is an excellent place to find used photo equipment. They’ve recently changed their warranty on items for the better. If your looking for Holga or Diana this may be the store. The owner and staff of Imageworks have always been amazing, helpful and knowledgeable. Parking is in the interior lot with its entrance on 8th ave, and is limited. Other options for parking are on Waialae avenue on weekdays or the stretch of 8th ave.

I have been going here at least once a month for the past semester to buy supplies for my photo class at UHM. I used to go here too a few years ago when I took the intro photo class in the summer. The people who work there are very nice and helpful. Let them know you take a class a UH and they’ll give you all you need. They’re very helpful and patient. It’s a go-to place for all your film developing needs.

Imageworks is a one of a kind camera shop on the island. When it comes to film, used camera gear, developing supplies(chemicals, reels, tanks, everything you need), this is the place to go. They even have a modest stock of new cameras. If you’re a gear junkie like me, you’ll want to visit them often. These days they seem to have a steady flow of used gear coming in, there are some real gems to be found! And since they sell on consignment, the prices are determined by the seller, not them. So the«fairness» of prices will vary, but are generally reasonable, sometimes there are some real bargains. Yes, me telling you this lessens my chances of scoring these deals myself, but that’s the way it goes. So they have the product, what about the service? Let me tell you, every employee I have interacted with here has been friendly and knowledgeable in some aspect of photography. So even when a person did not have an answer for me, they were able to get it from one of the others. Although my patronage over the years has been a little inconsistent, they have always been friendly and provided excellent service. Parking is in a small private lot behind the building accessed by 8th Ave. It’s limited but I usually get a space. Otherwise, it’s street parking. Since their partnering with Hawaii Photo Rental, things have only gotten better. Better hours, improved floor layout and organization in the shop, and I am guessing there has been an increase in business so there seems to be a better stock of film and developing supplies as well! Here is an example of their integrity and service. I spotted a camera outfit that I was interested in and the price was very good. In fact, it was too good to be true. It turned out this was one that they were selling(not on consignment) and they have priced it wrong. It could have been priced two to three times what it was at. However, they honored the price tag. With that, and a handful of other great experiences, they’ve earned my loyalty.

wow. the people here are really really friendly and they definitely know their stuff I inquired about a holga camera and walked into their store a couple weeks ago. some of their stuff is consignment and still in really good condition, so prices are very reasonable. they have a variety of different films including 135 and 120 in various exposures. because the holga I wanted was not in stock(although they did have some new ones), they offered to purchase the item online for me and have it shipped to their store althought i don’t know much about photography, the guy who helped me(I think his name was grant) was really friendly, patient, and helpful. he gave me lots of information on the camera and didn’t rush me, considering I arrived 15 minutes before closing time. he closed about ten minutes after 5 but was really cool about it he took down my information to call me about the holga I wanted and told me to expect a call two to four days from then as he was waiting for his boss to come in for work. i gave them one less star because i got that call about a week later other than that, its a nice small shop with almost excellent customer service and decent stock
