We were referred to Dr. Horton by several people. We moved to Honolulu with two teenagers and they both completed their orthodonic treatment with her. Our son had a very complicated oral situation which required that he be referred to an oral surgeon. The Dr. who Dr. Horton referred us to was excellent as well and we were very appreciative that Dr. Horton had this great relationship with the surgeon. Our son’s teeth are beautiful now and we are thankful for Dr. Horton and her care and knowledge. She and her office personnel were always helpful and attentive… very professional. Our daughter also received excellent and affordable care and the results are excellent! I highly recommend Dr. Horton and know many more people who have received professional and exceptional care. Thank you, Dr. Horton!!!

I am selecting one star since there is nothing lower. I transferred to Dr. Horton so I already had a basis for comparison from experience with my previous orthodontist. I had four teeth removed by my first orthodontist due to a severe overbite. I had a few spaces that needed to be closed, but I explained to Dr. Horton that I did not want my teeth pulled in too far over over-torqued in orthodontic terms. She stated that she could do it in six months. I received treatment from her for over a year and she had over-torqued my teeth to the extent that I could barely see them when I smiled in photographs. She explained that there was nothing she could do since four teeth had been removed; even though they were not that way when I initially started seeing her. She claimed it was a health issue. My first orthodontist would explain during each appointment what changes he noted from the last appointment, what specific adjustments he was making, and what he expected to see as a result. I would always have to ask Dr. Horton these questions as she never showed initiative in this regard. Her explanations were very unspecific and she continued using certain methods even though they did not produce the desired result. She insisted that it was working, but it became frustrating because she was obviously in denial. She seemed to try and rush me out of the braces maybe because it was taking longer than she initially anticipated. Another thing that I despised about her was that she refuses to use any new methods. Whenever there was a tooth that needed a height correction to mirror the other teeth, she would remove the entire bracket which added an additional 20 minutes to the appointment. My previous orthodontist would simply put a step in the wire, a method that took seconds. She was opposed to this when I questioned her about it, stating that she was all about bracket placement. She didn’t like putting bends in the wire. She was also not in favor of using appliances. Many of her methods are extremely antiquated and she refuses to modernize her techniques. I went for a second opinion to two other orthodontist. They explained that what she stated about being unable to un torque my teeth was inaccurate. I was also told that she had indeed pulled my teeth in too far. Now, I’m paying another orthodontist to fix the issue that she herself created. Now many people reading this may not know the difference between a good orthodontist and a bad one, so some may think she is actually decent. I would never opt to receive treatment from her again even if it was free. .

Apparently more people read this thing than I thought, and people have been messaging me about dr. horton. Photo’s 2 – 4, is the work that she put did. Photo 5 is the work of another orthodontist. I was looking at her testimonials page( ) and thinking who in the world would refer her? I was thinking these people … 1. Can’t be real 2. be blind 3. Never seen her work 4. Have some kind of relationship to her. I thought the last name on her testimonial list looked familiar. it’s her assistant. Look at the name with the photo uploaded with her assistants. Ahh the lies… This lady screwed me 4k, and wasted my time… trust me i didn’t forget.
