Against better judgment, and allowing laziness and hunger to prevail, we went in for a late lunch off their«Lunch Menu». I never like to eat at a restaurant connected to or adjoining a hotel, because usually they just have mediocre food and service at high prices because new transient hotel guests will always be available to sucker. Things are about double the price of our go-to Sushi restaurant in Laguna Beach, CA(also a tourist destination). Nigiri Sushi: Tuna $ 5 per 1 piece(Laguna Beach: $ 5 for 2 pieces), Salmon $ 5.50 per 1 piece(vs $ 4.50 for 2 pieces), etc. We passed. Hot Sake: $ 16 for a large(vs $ 6.95 in Laguna) The rolls were more reasonable, but nothing great, just normal(we had Tuna and Philadelphia Rolls) Steak: On the menu, they show a nice, thick, lean 10oz steak for $ 24(not cheap, but we went for it). My God – this flimsy steak was 33% FAT! The rest had gristle all through it.(See my pictures.). I mentioned to the waitress that the steak looked nothing like the picture, and she giggled and walked away(!). I guess I’d be laughing if I just suckered someone $ 24 for a lousy, paltry piece of fatty low quality steak too! The joke was on us! Steer clear of this complete ripoff!

We only came here because it was one of the restaurants that is part of our hotel(Hilton), and we wanted sushi and something close by. It was a big mistake. There was only about 6 items on the breakfast menu. None of it was very appetizing, and every dish were very similar with each other(spam, eggs, rice). I ordered udon, which comes with chicken and an oj. The oj i received from this place reminds me of the oj i received back in the school cafeteria, which is in a small disposable container. The food was typical and was not worth the price we had to pay, $ 15 for most dishes. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I ate here for lunch with my friends. I had a bunch of dishes like sushi, tempura, steak, and lobster. Everything tasted good, especially the Maguro sashimi which was very fresh and so delicious.

This is the place you can eat«real Japanese sushi» NOT local style! I really liked Chirashi Sushi. Fish is super fresh! I definitely come back again!!!

Service was fine but everything else was unnerving. I ordered five different sushi rolls and ended up getting five rolls period. Basically I paid forty dollars for literally five very tiny rolls. The quality should have been mouth watering at that price. Quality was less than desirable. Fish was not the right temperature and I had to spit out one of the rolls. My friend ordered a steak. It was all gristle and fat with exactly three french fries. WOW! Talk about being wallet raped. I could have walked a few steps to the right and gotten higher quality sushi at the ABC store at a fraction of the price.

This place is AWFUL. Do not eat here!!! It’s not even worth the half price sushi from 5−6pm. I eat a lot of sushi and this is some of the worst and most overpriced I have ever had the displeasure of eating. The service was terrible too. The inside of the restaurant looks just as fake and bad as their food. Save your money!!! The Hilton really needs to shut this place down.

As we walked up a couple came out and warned us not to eat there but we had out of town guests that chose it so went anyway. Service was very slow, food was mediocre, and the prices were high for the type of food. The rolls we ordered were super plain and very small. Surprised this place has such prime location in the village. Definitely disappointing.

I ate here for breakfast only. It was totally fine. I do like that you get free rice refills. My breakfast was good, but very basic. Even though I ate alone(LOL), they said I should sit at a table for 4 and by the window. SCORE! The breakfast was pretty cheap too, I opted for a basic meal though they had some at $ 20. I was super lazy which is how I ended up here. I would eat here again if I was lazy, but otherwise I too was scared of the very low reviews.

Overpriced tourist trap. Subpar food quality for the price and location. Only beacon of hope is the service was okay. Poke was tiny and quality was not great. Spicy tuna roll was bland. The kids meal came with teriyaki chicken, California roll, and potato salad for $ 9.50 that was the only highlight for the dinner for 7 people.

Two stars because the staff was nice… The food was not good. Not for where we are in the world. Simply put, go somewhere else unless you really enjoy flat, stale sushi. The only thing more worn out than the food is the carpet.

Sad sad sad sad sushi… Even compared to happy hour«sushi»… We ordered the salmon, scallop, conch clam, fatty tuna nigiri sushi, & tuna roll The wasabi underneath the sushi overpowered the taste. Besides the taste of wasabi, the sushi tasted quite fishy. Only thing that tasted decent was the fatty tuna with the thought of «would taste so much better somewhere else». Overall, the food was overpriced and not worth.

Where do I begin? Overpriced amateur sushi($ 7 dollars a roll) tiny, not fresh. Ordered a seafood platter with rubbery, flavorless shrimp, and lobster that looked like it was cooked in the morning and microwaved before serving. Hadn’t been CLEANED. Thanks for the plate of lobster fecies. Also ordered teriyaki chicken that was fatty, also flavorless, tasted like baked chicken your grandma would serve. 76 dollars later and that was AFTER they removed the lobster plate from my bill. I’m ALL about eating authentic and trying new things and I LOVE Japanese food but I don’t know what on earth this is considered.

Food was okay and overpriced, after all its located in a tourist trap area at the hilton resort. Service was extremely slow and bad. Our server continuously delivered our food in a rush, so it was extremely difficult to order from her or even to get our water refill. Take your business elsewhere.

I’m here for lunch and ordered the butter fish and chicken katsu curry. Both entrees were delicious. The batter on the katsu was crispy and the chicken was tender. The butter fish meal came with soup, crisp salad and rice. Curry katsu came with salad. Service was great.

As other Unilocalers have said, we found this place convenient yet not as bad as the others say. We were sat within 10 minutes, felt the staff was very friendly, and liked the sushi. I did feel like it was overpriced, but, so is everything else here!

I was tired after a long flight and didn’t want to travel far for food so I stayed on property to eat at Hatsuhana. The restaurant wasn’t too busy and the ambiance is ok. The Village is a little dated so I wasn’t expecting too much. The service was great and everyone on staff that I interacted with was pleasant and they were all very attentive. I ordered a Rainbow Roll, spicy tuna roll, and some miso soup. The soup was fine but the sushi tasted a little off. I dismissed this as being over tired or something but had stomach issues the next day. Don’t think I will ever return due to the food and the fact that it’s overpriced. A shame because it’s so convenient to get to if you’re staying at HHV and the staff was so nice.

One of the biggest tourist traps in the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu. I go to a conference each year, and each year my colleague wants to eat here. I got the sushi special($ 30 a plate) which came with about 6 – 8 pieces of nigiri sushi and a california roll and something else. I ended up eating half of the dish becasue it was very commercial and tasteless. Not recommended. Food Grade: D Service Grade: C Worth the Money Grade: D– Overall Impression Grade: D–

Well my experience was nothing like I’ve read in the other reviews. I had a nice dinner at #Hatsuhana in the #HiltonHawaiianVillage. Could it have been better?! Sure, but it wasn’t as bad as some reviews make it seem. From the beginning, I was warmly welcomed then showed to my seat. The waitress was very nice and attentive. They have a menu outside so I had looked it over prior to entering. They have typical #Japanese fare. #Sushi, noodles, items for the grill, etc. Everything I ordered was good! I made my own little«surf and turf» combo as I ordered sushi and a steak. The #Unagi and #FattyTuna were phenomenal! Fresh and delicious! The only bad part was that they only give you 1 piece per order and no prices on the menu for sushi — so be aware. I ordered my steak rare and it was juicy and delicious. Well seasoned and with a nice amount of fat allowing for the steak’s tenderness. They serve it to you on a sizzling plate with a few veggies(broccoli, carrots, and wedged potatoes). The veg portions could be larger and I like my veg«al-dente» and unfortunately these were over — not quite mush but definitely not crunchy. So not only do they skimp on the veggies, they expect you to pay for a side order of rice. Overall, the restaurant has some opportunity with portions and pricing however the service was good, fast, and attentive. It’s a good resort restaurant if you choose not to venture out into the #Waikiki. #OfRomero

Located in the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Hatsuhana is a convenient Japanese restaurant if you don’t feel like going«off the reservation» to hunt down a meal in Waikiki. After lazily hanging around the lagoon in the morning, we decided to have Japanese for late lunch. Hatsuhana was just what we wanted. We were seated immediately and our server was fast and efficient, laying down some tea & glasses of water and then getting our drink and food order. It seemed like almost no time had passed between getting our salads & miso soup before our server whisked in with our lunch plates. Interesting that the miso soup had little spirally fish cakey pieces in them, a nice touch. My grilled salmon and garlic chicken was mouth-watering and HOT! The grilled butter fish that my wife ordered looked just as good accompanied by some steamed veggies and a scoop of the Hawaiian staple, potato mac salad. My brother & son had the Shokado 1&2 bento boxes with unagi & tempura and chicken teriyaki(#1) & maguro sashimi(#2) looked like some serious lunches and they soon polished them off with no trouble at all. We probably should have tried their regular sushi, but the California roll that came with the butter fish was pretty much it for us. We were pretty satisfied with our lunches, so next time!
