Delicious dim sum! It’s made fresh so you always get hot dishes. I haven’t had anything that wasn’t good. My favorites are the shrimp & chives dumpling, shrimp ball, mochi rice, potstickers and sesame red bean ball. I may have some of the names wrong: P My son loves their shumai. For dinner, our favorites are the egg flower soup, hot and sour soup, beef with green onion and ginger, shrimp pan fried noodle and fried rice(with just eggs because the boy won’t eat most veggies…), just to name a few. 10% kama’aina discount before 3pm. The service used to be terrible but recently I haven’t had anything to complain about. It’s not the best but it’s fine. It’s delicious so we keep coming back!

We WERE frequent customers of this restaurant & enjoyed the food & getting $ 10 gift certificates toward the next meal when we spent $ 50+. Unfortunately my mom let the latest one lapse by a few days. I called & spoke to Flora, the owner/manager to ask for a grace period but she told me expired was expired & we couldn’t use it. I told her we won’t be coming back. I guess she prefers no business rather than granting a grace period. There are other chinese restaurants that we can patronize which we will do in the future. You lost a customer because of your inflexibility; I will tell my friends about this too.

This place overall deserves one star; however, since it does offer tasty dishes, I gave it two stars. First, on a busy day, there was only one waiter to service the entire place; owner probably too cheap to hire extra worker. So, be warned that if you have the patient and willing to pay a I little more for dim sum this is the place for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere. The young looking owner definitely was an unpleasant sight. He wad not very helpful and not on the friendly, customer oriented side. It is really surprising that it could survive for so long at Koko Marina. Perhaps, it is the extra prices charged for very small portion of food served. One final note, be very careful using men’s restroom because it was so slippery due to grease built up on the floor tiles. I wear shoes with great traction and almost fell on my rear. Unless something is done promptly, I am certain somebody is going to fall and sue the establishment.

Came here for dim sum and despite the wait for the food, it was well worth it. I have been to other dim sum restaurants here in Hawaii, and I would definitely recommend this one.

Handmade dim sum are delicious. It’s clean. Dim sum are to be prefers from the menu instead of being brought to you on the cart. So it takes a while but it’s freshly steamed for you. Spinach dumpling and chives dumpling are pretty good-lots of veggie;) spring roll has nice cript vegetable texture in it. Steamed Mochi rice is so so-it was little too much water and over cooked– had some weird after taste. Custard pie was sold out I guess it’s pretty popular here. They give 10% discount to Kamaaina. Fried rice was delicious-fluffy and light. Not oily.

If I could rate a half star, this would be a 3.5. We’ve been here a few times and the food is always on point. I’ve been to most of the Chinese restaurants on the East side, in search of that perfect beef broccoli on cake noodle, and this one has been the closest to what I am used to at our favorite Chinese restaurant, House of Dragon. When it comes to ambiance, this restaurant is definitely on the higher class, with linen table cloths and napkins, and a full bar. The tables are like Chinese cherry wood styled, and it is definitely a date-worthy restaurant. The half star is because of service. Our most recent visit included an Aunt, who was in from an outer island. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our bellies, and for only 3 of us, we wound up with 5 various plates of goodness. We started out with a smaller table, but after ordering, our waitress offered us a larger table. The food came out one at a time, which wouldn’t have been so bad, but the noodles were dead last, and a little soggy. We had to ask for water, and the little bowls for hot mustard(and for the hot mustard!). We were trying not to eat everything as it came out, so we could have a balanced plate, but we were hungry, and ate what was ready. We will be back, maybe for take out next time, but this spot is pricier than other Chinese restaurants, so be prepared for it.

We decided to check our Harbor Village Cuisine since we saw all the reviews comparing it to another Chinese restaurant that we frequent. It’s really right down the road from where we live so it’s very convenient. We went here on our anniversary because we just didn’t want to cook. We ordered the salted fish and chicken fried rice, eggplant with meat, house special noodle, and an order of char siu bao. When we go to a Chinese restaurant we always order that kind of fried rice. My husband got me hooked on that when we used to live in Mililani. Now every Chinese restaurant we go to, we have to order it. It really is a determinant on whether or not the place is any good. Some restaurants put too much lettuce and other vegetables in the rice and that just doesn’t fly with us. Harbor Village’s rice was excellent. It was one of the tastiest salted fish and chicken fried rice I’ve ever had. I would go back just for that. I wasn’t really a fan of the eggplant and the house noodle. Sorry, our other favorite Chinese restaurant wins that. For some reason the menu said eggplant with meat but there was no meat in the eggplant dish. It was a little disappointing. The sauce was kind of on the sweet side which was fine but then I made the mistake of putting my serving of the house noodle on the same plate. Bad idea, it just didn’t mesh well and then the house noodle started to taste sweet. I tried moving it to the other side but I still tasted that sweet on the noodles. The char siu bao took a long time to come out. We thought they forgot because we finished our whole meal and it still didn’t arrive. We were just gonna pay and hope that they didn’t charge us. But they said they were still working on it, so we waited. Since we were done, we just took it home. At home we decided to try one. It was very moist and delicious. I hope to come and try some of their dim sum one of these days. Oh and you know what the best part of this dinner was? At the end they gave us a gift certificate for $ 10 to come back. Woo hoo! I’m definitely coming back to get more dim sum and fried rice!

Ate as a big group for work. Wasn’t so certain about Chinese restaurants in Hawaii Kai, but it was good! Tastes authentic and delicious — I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and I’ll give my thumbs up! If I’m in that part of town, I would likely return if I’m looking to eat Chinese food. The restaurant is spacious and there was plenty of parking when we went on a Saturday night.

If you’re looking for good Chinese food, I would recommend trying here. Located in Koko Marina near the Walgreens. Food: Pan-fried Noodles with Vegetables~ Always freshly cooked vegetables(carrots, straw mushroom, chosum, broccoli). Goes really well with the crispy noodles and oyster sauce. Honey walnut shrimp~ This stuff is addicting. So yummy, it’s tastes like chicken. Shrimp tempura glazed in honey. It’s amazing because I usually don’t care for shrimp at all because I’m not much of a seafood person, but this dish is one of my favorites. Char-siu Fried Rice~ Simple, but appetizing dish. If char-siu’s involved you can almost never go wrong in my opinion, it’s basically the reason I order my fried rice. It comes with peas, carrots, green onion, and scrambled egg. I come here at least few times a month and usually for takeout. The guy in front who seems to run the place seems to have different moods. He usually never smiles which comes off as not very welcoming, except as of recent I’ve seen him smile and even laugh. It was odd and not what was use to, but I’m glad and hope it stays that way.

I’m so sad I have to start my year off with a one star review. Fortunately this will not be long. After a nice sunset hike nearby, a group of us(20 to be exact) wanted to eat somewhere we could all be accommodated for a nice sit down dinner. One of our friends recommended this place because she heard it was good. So we all decided to come here, parked our car and as everyone was exiting their vehicles, I took it upon myself to go in and ask if they could take us. I walk in and the hostess guy is watching something on his phone, not acknowledging me until I approached him closely enough. He looks up,(still not saying a word). I voluntarily speak first and say, «Hi I’d like to reserve for 20». He looks back down at his phone, and asks«20?». And I respond«Yes». He proceed to turn off his phone as a waiter approaches him. Then he speaks to the waiter in their language. The waiter eyes me up and down and laughs. The hostess walks away with a smirk on his face and I say«ummm if you can’t accommodate us, we can go elsewhere». He gets snippy and says«just wait!». My response: WALKOUT! 1. Never ever be on your phone when customers are present 2. Always make eye contact 3. Never ever speak in another language and laugh AT your customer 4. Never ever get snippy! ZEROSTAR for this place! Sad thing is I’m usually a fair person who’ll give an establishment another chance before I review them. Especially if the first impression wasn’t that great. But in this case, no thank you! I prefer not to feel belittled again, especially if it was done intentionally! By the way, for the managers/owners info, this happened around 8pm on Saturday, January 09, 2016. And I sure do hope that hostess guy wasn’t the owner. If so, then oh well, that sucks even more. Goodbye!

So convenient to have a dim sum place in hawaii Kai :) this place is one of my favorites. They have most of the traditional dim sum options plus more less common ones(although I’ve never tried the less common since I always stick to my favorites). The main thing that sets this place apart, however, is their baked crispy manapua. The top is sweet and crispy and is delicious! It’s not your ordinary baked manapua. When in hawaii Kai, this is a great choice to satisfy those dim sum cravings

Whenever my dad’s side of the family has a dinner, we come here! We always get the 10 course meal and we love that we can pick the dishes we get! We are«Americanized» Chinese so we don’t get anything super exotic. We’ve found this place to be clean, fast, and efficient. Dishes come out one at a time and are all family style with the turn table in the middle. Another thing we love about this place is they change out your plate half way through the meal so you have a clean plate. They almost never let the pot of tea or your cup of water go empty and if you get soup or salad, they’ll serve it for you. That’s good customer service! They also have a tank upon entering the restaurant with live crab. They use these crabs for their fried garlic crab! It just so happened, as we were leaving the restaurant, a chef had 2 live crabs that he was taking to the back to be cooked up! Talk about fresh! If you need a place for a family get together in the Koko Marina area and love Chinese food, this is the place to go! :)

Excellent Dim Sum made fresh for each order, great Dim Sum choices and a to-die-for«today’s special» of fresh lobster in melt-in-your-mouth butter and garlic e-mein noodles! Ono! The emphasis is on fresh because you’d hardly see Dim Sum made to order in Chinatown and made with high quality oil; and when we ordered the lobster, the owner said«Wait» and walked over to the fish tank to check. There was one live lobster left for us! Harbor Village probably doesn’t get more Unilocal reviews than it should because customers there(and it was full!) are older and more of the eat-Dim-Sum-drink-tea-while-reading-Chinese-newspaper-types. The restaurant doesn’t stand out either. It’s tucked away a few doors down from Petco and is next to a tanning salon. Favorite Dim Sum dishes were honey comb tripe, spare ribs in black bean sauce, juicy Shanghai dumplings, another kind of tripe, pork hash. Don’t forget the 10% kama’aina discount! Going again to check out the dinner menu!

Very disappointed in the quality and taste of the food. Stopped in to order take out. Ordered sweet and sour chicken, shrimp fried rice, and an order or egg rolls. The amount of chicken for the price is absurd. There were approximately 15 small pieces of breaded chicken present in the small clamshell container. The chicken was soggy and mushy. The egg rolls also were soggy and extremely greasy. The best thing I ordered was the shrimp fried rice and that was just ok. At $ 31 I feel like it was a total waste of my hard earned $$. I definitely do not recommend this place for take out and will not return.

TL;DR: Fresh, clean, excellent quality Chinese food for reasonable prices and food serving size proportions. Stopped by here on a Sunday night 30 minutes before closing, and picked up take-out orders of Beef Chow Funn, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and House Special Noodles(similar to cake noodles: deep fried Chinese egg noodles served with Chinese veggie stir fry with scallops, mushrooms, shrimp & ika). All of the dishes were packed neatly for us in a box with tape, making transport of the food back home an ease. I also especially appreciated that they separated the sweet and sour chicken sauce and chicken from each other in separate take-out boxes and did the same with the house fried noodles and the vegetable stir fry, allowing us to mix the two only when we were ready to eat and ensuring that the chicken and noodles remained crisp upon consumption. I think I’ve found my new favorite Chinese spot – everything we ordered was super fresh and delicious! HUGE difference between what I’m used to tasting from other Chinese restaurants. Usually if you stop in before closing, you know you’re getting the leftovers from the day, but this is not the case at Harbor Village Cuisine. They cook everything upon order, and you can taste it in the quality of their food. Dishes and their proportions are also reasonably priced, even with the excellent quality of their food. Between the three dishes we ordered for a total of $ 33 including tax, my boyfriend and I(who both have hearty appetites) were able to make three full meals each between all of the food we ordered, for a total of six meals for $ 33. ~$ 5 for a ready-made purchased meal is a steal you don’t hear about in Hawaii nowadays. I haven’t had the pleasure of dining inside the restaurant yet, but given my positive experience with their take-out, I will definitely be making plans to soon. The inside looks homey, clean, and inviting.

We come here for the dim sum. One time we called in for take out. All times they are very friendly and attentive. The food comes out hot and fresh. There was only 1 time they forgot about her fried seaweed roll. Another time they took a while to bring out the food cause they were shorthanded. I am constantly impressed that they all have a smile and positive attitude… Every time we’re here! We totally love this place!

Visited this restaurant for the very first time last night and did not know what to expect… it turned out unexpectedly good. Every dish was authentic and delish! We ordered shrimp & broccoli, bittermelon beef, hot ginger chicken, and parsley & beef soup. Although the dishes were kinda oily which was expected for Chinese cuisine, they were all perfectly executed: well seasoned/marinated, to the perfect temp, and to the perfect consistency. The only reason why I didn’t give them a full 5 stars is because they didn’t offer good value specials on crabs or lobsters like many chinese restaurants would. All in all, I would visit again if I was in the area.

My first 5-Star Review in over a year. And I can’t remember the last time I have five stars to a dim sum restaurant. Why? The food is really good! The flavors are subtle yet bold; it comes out freshly made, like, just out of the stranger, burn your mouth fresh; and they use fresh and good quality ingredients. I like Harbor Vally’s dim sum better than even Lefends’. I know but see for yourself. Also, they are really nice and the service really, really good. They don’t have cats rolling around and since they make to order you are going to have to wait a little bit for you to get your order. But did I mention house fresh the dim sum is??? I would have taken a star away because each order is more than what I am used to paying in Chinatown, but the food is that good and service so pleasant and nice. And the final dish that I had that got me to the five stars was the braised honey comb tripe. Very well done and very tasty. And they give KAMAAINA discounts! HARBORVILLIAGE is a MUSTTRY!!!

One of two Chinese restaurants in Hawaii Kai, I prefer to come to this restaurant for their dim sum. Not the usual cart style that is infamous with the Chinese cuisine, instead one selects off a sheet of paper, checking off which dim sum one wants to consume. Opens most days at 9am, but no noodles until lunch time, as one of the employees patiently explained that the person that makes the noodles doesn’t come in until later. There is a Kama’aina discount(10%) off your total bill. The place is clean, and more upscale décor for a Chinese restaurant. And the employees are friendly. There are bathrooms in this restaurant, but I’ve never used it so I can’t comment on how clean it is. I would definitely be back. For their dim sum.

Amazing customer service here! Ask for Winnie! She is the best waitress and so spectacular with changing our dishes out when dirty, bringing lemon water to wash our hands after eating the delicious stir fry crab w pepper and garlic! The fresh whole uhu fish was delicious! Walnut shrimp was made perfect! Not overpowering with mayo at all! I loved it! The pork hash with salted fish was delicious! Every dish was made to perfection! It was grandpas 99 year old birthday so Winnie offered us a free dessert to try! The Mango pudding was light and refreshing! Not too sweet! Just perfect! The almond float was so yummy! Also the tapioca was light and refreshing too! Spacious and very clean restaurant! I can’t wait to dine here again in the near future!
