Few things make me stop dead in my tracks and do a double take. Hank’s Haute Dogs in the middle of downtown is one of them. I even wanted to jump up and down and squeal but I had to play the role of a working professional. Order and pay online, pick it up on the designated day, and you’re ready to chow down. It’s that easy. You don’t even have to think about what you’re going to get because frankly(har, har!) you don’t get a choice.(Downtowners will agree, sometimes we agonize for way too long over our lunch options.) For this week’s special, they had the Menehune, which was a hot dog with kalua pork, pineapple relish and poi BBQ sauce. It also came with an amazing Hawaiian Pineapple Ice(slushy drink) and shake chips(you season them yourself with their rack of seasonings). I was practically drooling all over myself on the way to the office. Get on their mailing list, or check their Facebook or Twitter updates for what’s to come. Reserve quickly once you get an alert, they were sold out within a few hours. Fast, easy and fun, especially for a weekday.

Great idea! We used to go to Hank’s as a treat when someone had parking in the building, but now we can go once a week! I had the naked dog(Chicago dog) and shake chips(you add your own toppings/flavors to the chips at the shake bar!) All-in-all was yummy and so convenient. just across the street from the office! Picking up was quick and easy. Just hand them your ticket and they give you your box of goodies. Definitely will order again!

Oh look out, the Hauteness has made it’s way downtown! This review is for Hank’s Haute Dogs new downtown pop-up. Location: Downtown-Arcade Building. The pop-up is starting at once a week for lunch and then will move up to twice a week some time in the near future. There is only one lunch option to pre-order and you do not know what it is until the day you pick it up. What you do know is that you will probably get a dog or sandwich, a side and a drink. Many are not on Hank’s regular menu. . For today’s lunch, Hank celebrated International Champagne Day! Today’s sold out lunch consisted of: bratwurst hot dog steamed in champagne, shake chips(ones you season yourself) and a hibiscus lemonade. $ 8.95 The dog had dijon mustard, caramelized onions, shaved fennel slaw and tomato concasse on the top. It was a yummy dog. Very tasty. I couldn’t taste too much of a champagne undertone to the brat, but it was still very good. The chips were served in an open bag. There was a self serve station full of condiments to load on your chips. Most of them were powder and were dispensed through a salt shaker. The ones I remember were truffle oil, cheese, furikake, barbeque, salt & vinegar, chicken buillon, salt and pepper. There were probably 10 more that I don’t remember. Hank put up a little suggestion card with combination suggestions. I went crazy with all the options, so I spritzed truffle oil, then added cheese, salt/vinegar and BBQ. I was afraid that I put too much but it seems like you can be pretty liberal with the powders. You just have to keep shaking the bag to get even distribution:) I really liked my chips. They mostly tasted like BBQ with a hint of the truffle oil. The lemonade is one you can get at Hank’s already. Very sweet, but refreshing It is a takeout pop-up only. No tables or chairs. Pre-order and pre-pay at: Pick up is from 11:30−1. By now, you should know Hank’s and whether you think it’s a good deal or not. Some people think Hank’s is overpriced and serves small dogs. They are not any cheaper or bigger at this pop up. I think it was a filling portion for lunch.
