We went to eat lunch on a week day and there was only one occupied table. So we thought uh oh what did we get ourselves into? But we were very surprised for our first time there. There are many broths to choose from and if you’re not sure which one to order, the will have you try a small sample of the broth. There are many side side dishes to choose from, but the«semi buffet» is for the vegans and is an extra cost. Overall it’s equally matched wit the other Nabe places.

I am a big fan of hot pot restaurants, so I am stoked that this place opened so close to my house. The interior is Korean Kute™, with simple pretty tables and chairs, and cute pictures of vegetables and seafood on the walls. I was struck by how ROOMY it was. There were a lot of tables, and lots of room around the tables. Which is important because you get to pick out your ingredients from the several large refrigerated cases(it’s a pay-per-plate kind of place, though they have a set menu option, too). It was very clean and bright. Each table had a call button(like at Sorabol) to get the attention of your server. They use digital induction cookers for the hot pots, so no open flames and no waiting for more butane. They do not serve alcohol, but it appears you can BYOB because the table next to us brought their own beers. You can choose from a list of about ten or so broths, or do half and half. We chose miso and kim chee, both of which were good. The kim chee broth had a generous amount of kim chee floating in it. The selection of dippable foods is pretty good. Lots of veggies(including four or five different mushrooms!), seafoods, and really good meats. I definitely recommend the ribeye and beef tongue, both of which were melt-in-your-mouth tender even when they were forgotten in the broth. To accompany the food, they have a sauce bar with eight super yummy sauces: miso, fish sauce(reminded me of Vietnamese nuoc mam), ponzu, garlic shoyu, peanut(really sweet and creamy), shoyu mustard, black sesame, and a hot sauce. The worst part of our meal was deciding which sauces to use because they were all so good! The service was prompt and the servers were friendly and efficient. We could tell they were inexperienced, but it was understandable because they had just opened. At the end of our meal, we were offered complimentary shave ice(yay!), and the check came quickly. All in all it was a really good experience and I can’t wait to go back.
