I’ve been seeing Dr. Mau for years for my eye-care. He has the coolest array of gadgets for peering into your eyes. He is friendly, efficient and laughs at my corny eye jokes. Every trip, I’m satisfied with the exam and confident with the clean bill of health he’s given my eyes. His staff is also friendly and helpful. {I’ll end with a story about them} He has a large collection of frames for both men and women. And with my insurance plan, the prices are quite reasonable. Today, I ordered a pair of awesome RayBan frames that cost me only $ 32 over what my plan was willing to pay. Okay, here’s the story about the cool ladies that work upfront in his shop: Two years ago, I attempted to wear progressive lenses for the first time.(For you young folks, progressive lenses are bifocals without the lines) To put it mildly, I did not do well with them. They say everyone has to get used to them. For me, it was not happening. They drove me crazy! Also, the frames I had selected had a factory defect that became apparent during the several days I attempted to adjust to the progressive lenses. So at this point I was unhappy. No fault was to be placed on Dr. Mau or his staff. But sure enough, I was unhappy when I walked back in to his office with my defective frames and progressive lenses I could not abide. «No problem,» they said. «Pick some new frames and we’ll fill them with normal lenses.» I would have to forego the small fee that my plan had required me to pay extra for the progressive lenses, but there was to be no extra money out of my pocket(depending on the frames I would choose). Maybe it was my foul mood… Maybe it was my stubbornness… but from their large collection, I was unable to find a second set of frames I wanted. I left with the promise that when I was ready, I could come back and they would take care of me. About once a month for the next 5 or 6 months, I got a very pleasant call from one of the staff: «We still owe you a pair of glasses, would you like to come in and chose some frames?» When I finally did, I found a great pair of frames. They made my glasses and they’re great!
