I visited the restaurant on 03/10/2011. There were 2 of us. The waitress gave us one menu and one drink menu, as I was looking over the drink menu, she came back, grabbed it out of my hands and said«that’s the wrong menu» I told her.“No, this is the drink menu” she left with the menu and came back with a regular menu. I told her I was looking at the drink manu because I wanted a drrink. She came back with a table display menu. We placed our order. Her friends came in and she sat them, took their orders and brought them chips and salsa right away. I mentioned to her, «i know those are your friends but we have been here for 20 minutes and you never brought us our chips and salsa. She stated „it was a mistake“ So I then told her,“that’s ok 25 minutes have gone by and we would just like our check for the drinks and we are done here» .She asked if I was sure, I said«yes, it’s ok. we will go elsewhere» It took about 5 minutes and when she brought the check she slammed it on the table and walked away. That was it. I asked to speak to the manager, told the manager what happened and he said«I am sorry that happened, but it’s because she’s blonde» WTF? So I told him that it’s wrong to know she’s like that and being blonde is no excuse for slamming the check on the table”. I wanted to pay the $ 34 for the pitcher of margarita which we didn’t even drink one glass, but he said he will take care of it. His other excuse was that because they are in Waikiki it’s the kind of workers they get. um NO. it’s not!!! There are other resaturants in Waikiki and NOT one I have been to had a server like that

Thank you cha’s. it’s been epic! I haven’t been here nearly as much as I’ve wanted or as much as my friends but with your closing you leave me with plenty of good memories. Your final day was enjoyed with your awesome food and phenomenal margaritas and not to forget your staff who has always been friendly and welcoming. You will be missed cha’s. Now comes the task of finding a new spot for our taco tuesdays. We will search high and low but will surely never find anything as good as your del fuego. Thank you.

A list of why I was not impressed with this place: 1.) The host and the server seemed to be in la la land while they were trying to serve us. 2.) The inside of the restaurant was simply too stuffy to have been able to enjoy a meal. 3.) The guacamole needed salt, lime, cilantro, onions and tomatoes instead of mashed up avocados. 4.) Some of the chips for the guac were stale. 5.) The fish I got was very salty. 6.) The enchiladas someone else had tasted like cumin only. 7.) The re-fried beans looked sad and from a can. 8.) Black beans that came with my meal were bland.

WORSTSERVICEEVER. The salsa is the only thing that makes up for the service because the food is just okay. But, this place is closing in a couple months so try it out now!

Is there a possibility of giving it a 25? Because I ate there 4, oh wait, maybe 5 times while in Waikiki this year. 5 Stars for each visit. Each time it was fantastic! The food, the staff, the atmosphere was fantastic. I enjoyed every single minute of being there. From servers, April and Lindsey to bartender, Brenda, to manager, Hillary — they were all very good. This place has the best, hands down, ever fajitas I have ever, ever had in my entire life. The only downfall now is the hotel they are in is not going to re-lease to them~~~! I know, wth? We were so bummed. We hope the owner finds a new place SOON! I cannot compliment this place enough. Thanks, I have new found friends on the island of Oahu & I look forward to your NEW location!

Always fun to just kick it with friends. Taco Tuesdays are great here, too. The waitresses are a little slow, but friendly most if the time. The tequila wall is great, too. Finish 30 on the given list and bam, name and plaque. Good fun. A bit pricey… If the service was improved that would be nice.

The visit I made to Cha Cha Cha’s the other evening was me going outside of my box. Other than it having an obvious Mexican vibe, the place just screams party! I could be a total prude for saying this, but for one reason or another I don’t dig this place as much as person just turning 21 would. At times, it gets really rowdy. The crowd is always on a mental high and the adjacent hotel allows for this kind of behavior to exist in Waikiki. Go figure. Now, I don’t completely hate the place. The drink specials are actually decent, the food is generally okay, and the service is friendly for the atmosphere it allows. I’m almost positive it’s a great place for those visiting! Locals on the other hand, would find that it completely drains you of any energy you had previously. Because you’re in the heart of Waikiki, parking will cost you. If not, it’s also good to get a ‘DD’(designated driver) to aid in the aftermath.

The food here is not good. Extremely bland and no at all like their sister restaurant in Hawaii Kai. I only come here for one thing. Ginger Jalapeño Margaritas. So ono! You can only have two because they get sweet on you, but mmmmm yum. Go try one. But sit at the bar and save yourself from the food.

BLUF: nice hole in the wall with a unique menu but the food fell short. The salsa and mango habanero salsa was pretty good but some of the chips were stale(not all of them). For dinner we had the chipotle enchiladas and Pacifico Quesadilla(fish). Food took a little longer than normal to arrive but wasnt to big of a deal. Neither tasted that great to us and we left most on the plate. We went with recommendations that we wouldn’t normally go with so that could be part of the reason we disliked the meals. Overall, the place had a nice atmosphere and the staff was nice, but for the price we paid we wish we would have went back to Yard House or Hard Rock.

Nice ambiance. Waitresses were pleasant. Service was a little slow in the beginning with our drinks but the food came out quickly though. I had the mango chili margarita… it was freaking awesome! I don’t even know if there was alcohol in there. Honestly, I didn’t even care. It was just that good. Food was fresh and flavorful. I had the bbq pork quesadilla and the nachos. Edit* I went there a few more times. Their drinks are inconsistent night to night. Still worth going to though.

VEGETARIAN’S TAKEHEED! Consistently the chef here cooks up a fresh vegetarian burrito better than ANY place I’ve tried on the island where the whole restaurant is vegetarian/vegan! I had to compliment the chef myself I was impressed and he tells me he will modify anything on the menu to suit vegetarian/vegans. THAT is first-class service and very smart in this day & age where a lot of others are failing. Counterpoint: The chips, though they appear to be made there, are made too far in advance and have been sitting out long enough to be stale unfortunately.

The food was good but it was very ala carte and caused my fajitas to be rather pricy. No chips given to snack on while waiting for food to arrive, instead you have to order that separately.

First time experience: Cute hole in the wall Margarita pitcher was worth it! $ 14 for about 5⁄6 sm/med glasses Chips & Salsa was yummy — perfect spice my friend and I were waited on greatly, but when 3 of our friends showed up and the place was about 60% full, it took us forever just to get our check. Our first stop of the night so didn’t eat.

One of my favorite stops when visiting Waikiki! The pineapple habanero salsa is to die for. I am addicted to the Jamaican Jerk Quesadilla parmesan crusted. I have eaten here numerous times with groups as large as 8 and never heard anyone complain about their food. The fish tacos are always a good choice and the BBQ quesadilla is also a good choice. This is a small hole in the wall place but service is pretty good. Their Margaritas are also very tasty after a long day of work. This is a place locals visit and the occasional tourist leaves the main drag and finds this gem. So if in Hawaii step off the main drag and enjoy this local favorite…

The Pineapple Habenero Salsa is awesome. If you aren’t into spicy foods, it’s going to be a bit much, I urge you to brave the heat and enjoy the taste. The salsa alone is enough reason to come here. With that said, the BBQ Quesadilla is really good, and so are the fish tacos. The portions are large, which is completely unnecessary because you’ve already stuffed your face with chips and salsa. I am not wild about Mexican food, but this place is fun, and the food is good. I’ve been three times in the first three moves since I moved here, and I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed my meals. The tequila selection is commendable. They lose a star because the happy hour drinks are a bit watered down, and they need to expand their Sunday/Funday Football options. This is easily overcome by putting on your big-kid pants and ordering a beer.

Food is pretty good. For Waikiki Mexican, what do you really expect? This is not Mexico or So Cal it is Hawaii and we gotta adapt:) We came here today with our dog to sit on the patio for HH. No HH food specials, but house marg’s and 3 types of draft beer(not a huge selection but the ones they have are quality — we had sierra nevada pale ale) are $ 3.00. Not too shabby. Not too many places in Waikiki where you can sit with your big husky dog and have a bite and a drink so every so often we end up here. We had the pork verde enchiladas which were not bad, pretty tasty actually. Only thing was not enough verde sauce and I felt so bad for the greeter/bartender/waitress that I just didn’t have the heart to send her back for one more thing — she did a great job but alas it is just her. The chips and salsa are $ 2.50 not complimentary but the mango habanero salsa makes it worthwhile, and it is HOT. And tasty. Goes great with the pale ale. We will be back again, because the food is tasty, the salsa is hot and the beer is cold.

I LOVETHISPLACE! Every time I am in Waikiki I come here. They have the best happy hour specials, not once but twice a day. From 3−5pm then again from 10−12am. Can’t beat that. Not to mention they have 99 kinds of tequila — yes 99! The habanero mango salsa is killer! You can’t stop eating it — even when your mouth is on fire and numb.

Nice Mexican place for being in the middle of Waikiki. The atmosphere is nice with both indoor and outdoor seating, which is the only reason why I am upping my rating by one star. Chips and salsa aren’t free though. Portions are huge, so it alright value for the the food. Came for their Tuesday specials, but I guess it only starts from 10pm on. Service was pretty slow for such a small place. There was one waitress who literally sat down with some of her friends and chatted for a good 10 – 15 minutes at a time. As Don D said, [they] tend to be pretty, but they’re also pretty slow.

I think CA peeps should not be able to comment on any Mexican in HI. Torito’s and the burrito shop in Fort Street Mall are pretty good… but other than that — pickings are a slim. I think each place has a tiny redeeming quality that makes it kind of okay. I ordered the chipoltle enchiladas… and let’s say they were worse than slop… and for almost 15 bucks? Jokes on me? The server came out and said… be careful this side of the plate is hot? Hmmmm… so I get my food and the enchiladas were cold inside. Not only that but the tortilla for the enchiladas were old, hard, and cracked. I make enchiladas regularly — it seems ya’ll need a tutorial… I would be glad to help. By CA standards your restaurant is inedible and not worth wasting the calories… I will not talk to the half A$$d margaritas or that you all have a charge for chips and salsa.

Came here once for a get together with my friends at night. I was a bit skeptical about this ‘mexican’ restaurant at first because I’m thinking to myself… this isn’t Mexico and this isn’t back home in San Francisco at the mission district. It’s in the middle of waikiki in Hawaii of all places… however, the happy hour margaritas won me over! :) Plus we had a really sweet an awesome waitress named Alora! :) She was really sweet and definitely helped me decide on what to order for food and what to drink. And she did not lead us wrong. I shared a steak fajita with my friend and had their mango margarita! :) It was an awesome duo. She even tried to get us to start a ‘shots card’. so that we can attempt to make it onto their wall, ahaha. However, that didn’t happen because I didn’t think that it was even possible for me to make it to 10 without puking my lungs out. Ahaha. However, a couple of tables away a bunch of guys were doing it and it seemed like they were having a blast. So if you and your buddies are up for a challenge, you should definitely come here and take their 30-shots challenge! :) Cons: I don’t remember that they validated our parking… but maybe because I didn’t ask.
