I think they’re great. When I lost my job and was a few months behind in my payment to them, they didn’t harass me like most companies would. I put out a lot of big stuff when I remodeled and they always picked it no questions asked. I like them a lot.

My Mom has had Coakley Disposal Services for nearly ten years. Originally it was the cheapest waste company around and for several years it seemed adequate. Within the past few year’s we have seen a drastic decrease in service. On more than a dozen occasions they would not pick-up on the scheduled day. It appears to be a a small company, so a reasonable individual can understand if the crew gets tied up once in a great while. But they wouldn’t call my Mom to let her know, which meant her garbage was out at the curb for more than the 24 hour period the town allows. Furthermore, it would take several phone calls to get them to come and pick-up SEVERAL days later. Many times during normal business hours(Monday — Friday, 9 am — 5 pm), one would reach voice mail. You could bet your house that the call would not be returned within that day, and possibly not even the next! To my knowledge the company does not have a Web site, so one is reduced to continual voice mails since an email address is not easily found. What really irked me about Coakley is they did not provide my Mom with recyclable bins. I am not certain if this a company-wide practice. However, when asked about it, they instructed her to place her recyclables inside the garbage toter, to top of the garbage. Are you kidding me?! The employee doesn’t open the toter lid to see if there is any recyclables on top. The whole thing just gets dumped into the truck. Pick-up for my Mom is on Monday. This is Labor Day week, so we had assumed her garbage would be picked up on Tuesday. Today is Thursday, the garbage is still at her curb. Mom just called me and told me she called Coakley to remind them to pick up her garbage and that she’s canceling their services. Of course, she got their voice mail! By the way: I live in the same town as Mom and the company that I use does recycle, has excellent customer service, and provides well-written literature and their practices and procedures, and is several dollars LESS expensive than Coakley! As much as I like to support locally, owned small businesses, this is not one that I would endorse or recommend.
