We called to make a reservation & Rose was a B! She had an attitude when we got there & was very short with us. Their business center had viruses on there computer & you could not print anything. The halls were filthy. I came downstairs 3 – 4 times & she was always on a personal call. I went to get something out of the vending machine, there wasn’t much in there, but the chips that were in there expired in September & November… this is February. Swimming pool was closed. Enough said… a big disappointment!

The hotel itself is a solid 3 ½ to 4 star but a couple things have made me rate it a 2. First the employees park right in front of the entrance. No room to drive up to check in and unload luggage. Second the staff must not have baby sitters because there were children behind the desk, in the business office, and watching TV in the lobby. Yes they all belonged to the staff behind the desk or they at least called her mom. Last but not least was the pool with four men drinking beer and smoking. When the time came for the pool to close we exited as well as three of the men, they got in cars and left. I watched the fourth subject from our room as he crossed the parking lot, he climbed into his truck leaving beer cans littering the parking lot as he drove away. I plan on following up the visit with a call to someone a little higher up the food chain than the night crew. As far as the room goes, very clean. Everything was in place and it almost appeared the room hadn’t been used. AC was very cold. Room had plenty of plugs for charging electronics. Breakfast was as expected, nothing to brag about but was better than having to spend extra. We stay at this hotel a couple times a year to visit family. Although the issues listed above we will stay here in the future. These issues are common and this isn’t the first time they have occurred, just not all of them at the same time.

I have stayed at this hotel about every 6 months ever since it opened, and I am sorry to say the quality of the experience has steadily declined. The cleanliness is not at all what it used to be, and there are some maintenance issues that need attention. On my last visit I stayed in a second floor room on the back side of the building. My room overlooked the air conditioner units, and one of them cycled on and off about every 10 – 15 seconds all night long. When I told the front desk about it the next morning, assuming they would be glad to know it needed attention, the clerk said«oh, you should have called downstairs, they would have turned it off for you, it does that all the time!» The breakfast buffet was mediocre and the person who appeared to be in charge of taking care of it wasn’t bothering to remove dirty dishes that someone had left on the serving area close to the food. It was most unappetizing. There was plenty of hot water, but no way to turn the water so that it came out of the shower head. I remembered too late that I’d had that problem the last time I stayed there. I will probably stay there again since I have family in Hondo, and even with its limitations it is the best choice in town, but the next time I will request a room on the front side away from the air conditioner units, and I will check the shower as soon as I check in so I can request another room if it doesn’t work.

This hotel was very clean, the room was clean and the bathroom impressive. The bed was comfortable and the sheets clean but there were some burn holes in the spread. They provided shampoo but no conditioner(I came empty handed) but a nice place to spend the night. I would agree that it is a bit overpriced for the location but a good stopping point if you are driving late at night and need a place!

This was a VERY clean hotel. The service was good and the proximity to Hondo International Airport is convenient. The only issue I have is the price… WAYOVERPRICED.
