My very first clubbing experience was at Vine Street Lounge. The place isn’t all that bad. I like the fact that they have upstairs and downstairs dance floors. Upstairs seems more slow and calm where downstairs is just crazy. I had a fun time, probably because of the people I went with since I didn’t even drink 1 drop. *sign*. But It’s a good place to just relax and get loose.

Went to the Vine St. Lounge for a show on a friday night. Cover price was nice $ 10. Parking could be better. I guess they have valet or that could have been for the restaurant next door. The feel of the club is kick back, with nice vinyl booths, and couches all over. They have flat screens in case you can’t see the stage from where you are sitting. Drinks were flowing, and a wee bit pricey, I am use to a beer being about 4 dollars not 6. But then it is LA. The people were nice, the vibe was coo. The stage is a bit odd. Really higher then most places. But, I guess with wanting to give everyone a good view, you would have to have a higher stage. I don’t know if this is normal, but they were calling last call at 11:30ish? I have never heard of a bar doing that. Overall, I loved the place and would go back again. Maybe taking more in when I a wee bit sober!

I love Vine Street Lounge! The bar is lit from underneath, so it’s got this green/blue glow, and that color carries over the entire bar. I didn’t pay for my drinks — but they were made very well — and made by tattooed boys(eye candy). I love the seating area with its white vinyl booths, leather couches & animal print stools. Also, the way the stage is positioned you can see it from all areas of the bar, however just in case, they’ve placed flat screens in the seating area that show the band while they are playing, so basically there isn’t a bad seat in the house. And if you aren’t into the band, you can mozy around and check out the amazing black & white photography of rock legends placed on the walls. For the ladies: They have one of my favorite bathrooms on Hollywood blvd! The restrooms smell of apples and have speakers so you really can’t miss a beat. Toe tappin while you potty. Good times. Also, they even went out of their way to place rose scented soap in there! I’m a bit of a bathroom nut. I went on a night Clem Burke from Blondie was playing with a new band, so the scene was mostly older, sexy rock types.

Pimpin’! I enjoyed this place highly! when Jon and I got there it was way early, but that worked out well, since we got to meet the bouncers and co-owner. After getting in to the joint we got ourselves some drinks and made our way to a nearby booth, which was well situated to the rest of the club. The evening continued and we discovered that we had a great view of the lounge: which was very convenient for one of my favorite activities: people watching. The lounge filled up over the night, but never so much that it felt awkward, and never so much that you couldn’t spot the waitresses. Overall the atmosphere was easily a 5: the drinks were a little pricey, but with two hot numbers like Jon and I attending: how can you go wrong?
