Three Notch Veterinary Hospital

I recently adopted a dog (Olivia) from the Tri-​County Animal Shelter and she went to Three Notch to get spayed and up to date with her shots. The people there took very good care of her and were genuinely concerned about her well-​being after having a bit of an unsettled digestive system (if you catch my drift) from being nervous after surgery. The laser sugery seems to have worked great as she hasn’t yet been bothered to lick her sutures and doesn’t seem to take any notice to pain. Prescriptions were sent directly to my pharmacy of choice and was done quite swiftly. It seems they have plenty of competent and caring veterinary doctors and staff.

Love this vet! Dr. Veitch is wonderful. He took the time to speak with me with any questions I had, and explained everything in a clear way that I could follow. Usually when I take my dog to the vet we are waiting to be seen and then we are pushed out in no time, and leave feeling like a horrible pet owner b/​c they try and sell you a million things that are ridiculously expensive. He and his staff did nothing like that. They explained options and never pressured me to buy things I couldn’t afford, or want. Being in the military we move all the time and have seen over 5 different vets. He is one of the best! I have a lab that get chronic ear infections (common in his breed) and he does everything he can to eliminate costly bills since my dog gets infection about 2 – 3 times a year. Wonderful. The reason I don’t give them 5 stars is b/​c they are a few dollars more expensive on most things than surrounding vets.. But to me it’s worth it for my puppies.

Exceptionally rude receptionist. I came in with a dog in clear distress to see if a walk in was available. She said nothing was available despite me stating I was willing to wait until closing (4 hours from then). When I tried to use my phone to coordinate an alternate appointment time with my wife I was told I needed to step outside in the 90+ degree heat. There was no compassion, no «let me see what I can do», simply an attitude that screamed go somewhere else which is exactly what we did. Extremely disappointing. I don’t normally write negative reviews but the complete lack of compassion warrants this one.

This place is a little pricier than I’m used to in my home state of Ohio but I really do love the people here. Dr. Feldhaus did such a great job taking care of my 1 ½ year old mini Aussie and was so thorough, sensitive, and understanding with his treatment and costs. The staff there treated my dog like he was one of their own! I’d recommend Three Notch Vet to anyone that asks… just make sure you save a little dough in case anything happens to your beloved furry friend… or else you may have to take out a small loan lol

Excellent veterinary hospital, most compassionate, skilled, and caring vets in southern Maryland. I refer many people here and have never heard any complaints. Can’t recommend highly enough!

When I first moved to the area, I had to kennel my dog because I was staying in a hotel that wasn’t pet friendly while my rental was being readied for occupancy. When I went to kennel my dog, I realized he didn’t have his bordatella vaccine, and had to take him in to the vet. I informed them that I was trying to kennel my dog that same day, and they got me an appointment only a few hours from the time I called. I got in there and they took great care of him. They taught me all about the dangers of deer ticks out here (I was living in the Pacific Northwest, so they weren’t a concern there), and got me set up with a couple doses of the medicine to prevent ticks, did a heartworm check, diagnosed an ear infection, and got him some flea medicine.
I had never been so impressed with a vet. I’ve had my dog only three years, but have moved around a lot, therefore he’s seen quite a few vets — and this was the best one so far.
I would recommend to any dog or cat owner in the area … very friendly, very knowledgable staff.
