Swung by because Vince Vaughn’s character, Trent, mentions the club in the movie Swingers(1996). Once inside I was told that scenes were shot here. I will have to rewatch it to check what scenes were shot in The Three Clubs for sure. The bartender, Matt, was awesome and my tip reflected services rendered. NOTE: This is a dark bar with two magnificent TVs on which Turner Classic Movies showed during my visit. There is also a piano hidden the dark en route to the very dark bathrooms. Movies: Ghost of the Dragstrip & Attack of the Puppet People both = LoL! Night #2: Beware My Lovely with Ida Lupino. NOTE: This review was started on my first visit and finish during my second visit. I LOVETHISPLACE

Live music! Divey bar! This place is right up my ally. Have gone twice to listen to Jazz bands. Drinks a little pricey… 8 bones for a gin and tonic that’s not even top shelf.

I’ve been here 3 times and it was only because my friend was DJing on Saturday nights. Your typical dive bar. –Location: The neighborhood is a little rough and there were a lot of questionable people walking by. Even though we parked right across the street from the venue we felt a little unsafe. –Crowd: Usually it’s less then 30% full and crowd seems like a mix of different people. This isn’t a place to meet people, you better bring your own crew of friends. +Cheap Drinks: Since this is a dive bar, the drinks were cheap. I bought a round of shots and the bartender gave me one free. +Old School Music: If old school is your thing, you’ll be in a happy place here. They love 90s era and early 00s music.

I was there this evening and they had a video of a woman in blackface playing. I brought it up with the manager that this was HIGHLY offensive and they were not concerned. I was completely offended by the video being shown and by the fact that the staff found nothing wrong with it. This is highly offensive and I’ve never felt more degraded.

This is one of the best bar in Hollywood. Love the Mad Men décor.

My first visit and it was awesome! There was a live band«Black Potato Soup» in the other room and they were epic! Pros: Cool spot, plenty of seating, 2 rooms, outdoor area, live bands, no cover charge. Cons: Parking sucks, my moscow mule was basically a margarita(bartender knowledge wasn’t the best), prices were $ 12 for pretty much any drink you ordered– cocktail or beer.

Came out for a Valentine’s Day gift from my girlfriend to see the burlesque show and had a great time! The environment was nice, drinks were very reasonably priced and it was a great show. I’ve never been to a burlesque show before but I would definitely come back again!

Had a bday here on a Saturday and it was an amazing time. Bar, lounge, and dancefloor all in one. I was worried about the music being bad but the DJ played good stuff – an eclectic mix of oldies and modern. I even met Adam from Workaholics and Zac Efron that night. :]

Super dope Lil hole in the wall! Generously portioned perfectly mixed cocktails without sprouts and sprigs fancy prices… DJ was fire! David Bowie«Let’s Dance» theme was perfect for girls night out/birthday celebration, dance all night is the recommendation! It’s a Lil grimy and a whole lot of fun. lt reninds me of Mmmhm Room at Standard Hollywood, without the who’s who line of «you’re not on the list» BS. Fun Times! 70s, 80a rock, MTV sounds

I remember coming here back in the 90s because of the movie Swingers. I’ve recently rediscovered this place for its cabaret shows and high level theatre. I’m coming back every week for a show. The bartenders are great too! Love it!!!

Three Clubs is probably the coolest dive bar in LA. Any place that has ‘The Cult” on the jukebox is great in my book. Ton’s of parking. Great dark corners. Love this place

This place is awesome. My friend took me here and described it as «his local hangout». He couldn’t have picked a better spot. It was nicely located, and easy for us to find parking around 10PM on a Saturday Night. Inside the place feels like some cool bar with a retro theme. The area that we saw was cut up into to rooms. One with a dance/band area complete with disco ball and DJ spot. The other was a more traditional long bar with some booths and tables nearby. At the long bar they had a movie from the late 60s playing complete with subtitles for those uninterested in socializing. We had already been out for a while and this was stop number 5 for us. I had to stop drinking around 11:30. The bartender was awesome and got me a glass or water and kept it topped off. He was also super attentive to his customers and was making some great looking drinks with awesome skill. The volume is side was just right, the lighting was right, the prices were right. This place is a gem!

Three clubs is a real«ace in the hole». This historic bar and cabaret has an authentic old Los Angeles Noir atmosphere. All wood, red leather and damask. The staff are friendly, the drinks are great and there are frequent burlesk and other shows to entertain. One might expect to see Sam Spade occupying a red leather booth nursing a «Gin and Homicide». Go here for the drinks, entertainment and best of all… the inspirational noir atmosphere…

This is a hole in the wall bar. I don’t quite know why it has a high rating on Unilocal

This venue looks a bit rough on the outside, but a surprise awaits you inside. As you step inside, the bar’s red hue greets you. The old music transports you to the perfect time for whisky and wine. The bartenders are friendly, and prices are fair. The venue to the right through the double doors is romantic, and set up for an intimate show sure to make your ears happy. There’s an outdoor patio as well for those who need a bit of fresh air.

Really enjoyed this venue, as an observer/photographer. There are two main areas — the smaller area when you first walk in, with full bar and small booths, and behind double doors is the event room(another bar here in addition to table seating, DJ booth, and stage area). It’s nice to have a separate area for those who are not interested in the events taking place so they can talk with little noise disturbance. I don’t drink, but I can say that upon the bartender learning this he immediately offered me water(with ice and lemon). Very nice. I’d attended to shoot the bands/DJs of WeekendKinda(Thursday night event). The tables/seating is a few steps higher than the stage area, giving the audience a good view even when attendees start dancing their tails off. On the far right is another secluded booth area where you can also watch the performances/dancers without obstruction(I spent a lot of time there as well). Outside(in back) is a little smoking patio, which is nice for anyone in the event room who needs a little break from performances. Lighting was generally on the darker side during performances, but ultimately that is decided by the performers and not the club itself. The atmosphere and cleanliness of 3C was also very nice.

I’m extremely upset with the staff at this place. There is a bartender there who is a thief so please be careful if you ever decide to go into this dump. Pay cash if possible otherwise run the risk of having arbitrary charges made to your credit card. I went there back December on a Thursday for club AFEX(no longer happening at their venue at this time). I’m writing the review late because this is how long it took for the bank to come to a resolve about my disputed charges. Here’s the situation: I spent $ 32 total at the bar for watered down drinks. I tipped the guy $ 5 for a total of $ 37. While checking my bank statement in December, I noticed a total charge of $ 69 made to my card. I disputed the charges with my bank but was unsuccessful as the bar provided my bank with documentation that stated the following: Sale Amount $ 32 Subtotal $ 32 Tax $ 0 Tip $ 37 _________________ Total $ 69 Now why the hell would I tip $ 37 on a $ 32 check? I’m not a math wizard but having worked in the service industry AND being a consumer I have plenty of experience adding subtotals and tips. BEWAREOFBARTENDERTHIEF!!!

Talk about a hidden little gem. No cover fee at entrance, however if you go see a special performance(Linda Kay) you might end up paying $ 5, which is not bad. Main bar is pretty fast compared to the small bar near stage(side bar). Casey must of had the day off — I wanted to try one of her notorious drinks. I will definitely come back.
