Go to one of the other food trucks. Went to lunch here and the food was so disappointing. Cold French fries, stale bread, bad sandwiches.

Food is alright. Good but nothing spectacular. I would give them 5 stars but they re overpriced. Nothing for less than 9 $ and their sandwiches are small. Overcharging students(they sometimes come on csu la campus) is bad business.

I ordered the chicken sandwich(not the pesto one). It was prepared quickly(about 5 minutes) and tasted pretty good. The bread was nice and fresh. It was similar to a French roll. The best part was the sauce. Without it, I don’t think the sandwich would have been as good.

Within 24 hours of posting my review, the owner contacted me to get the exact details of my experience. He was incredibly apologetic, and told me that the guy who was running the truck the day I went there, had actually been fired — just prior to my posting. He obviously cares tremendously about his business, and assured me that good food and good service was a priority to him. Based on his kind and courteous and response I will definitely be giving the truck another try!

I gave them a shot at the Comic Con in Long Beach, and was let down. Not only did they call my number for a pesto sandwich and an order of fries after three other clients that had ordered after me. But when they finally did deliver, my fries were cold!.. how’s that possible? lol. No napkins, not very charismatic. The sandwich I did not like, but I’m not going to rate them on taste, since that’s more of a personal preference, but definitely for the poor quality service. 2 stars.

Just alright. They had a few items printed on paper and taped to the truck with an image of the sandwich. My husband and I split the blue cheese steak sandwich. It had fries in it, aoli, steak, and blue cheese. It was saucy and not bad. If the steak was better it would have been way better. I don’t think I will be back in line for this truck.

I spotted the truck and was really craving some carbs. I ordered a simple order of fries($ 3) and hummus($ 3). The person taking the order said the total was $ 6. 3+3= 6. So then, I ask him to add a diet coke. He tells me the total is $ 10. So, I asked him how much the drink is. He says $ 3. I have never been a math genius, but 6+3 is 9 not 10. Also, who charges $ 3 for a diet coke. Obviously trying to rip me off. Oh and the bread was dry, the hummus tasted like feet and the fries were medicare.

Love this truck! I get their fatoush salad with chicken. The portions are large, the quality of the food is excellent and the flavor is second to none! It used to be outside of my office and Everyone in our office looked forward to it! Staff is always friendly and the price is not pricey for the amount of food you get! Can’t wait until they are back!

The Hungry Nomad ventures onto Cal State LA about once a month for the past two quarters ever since the campus began scheduling at least one food truck visit per day to provide students with alternative food options. With their spin on classic sandwiches and salads that incorporate Mediterranean/Armenian flavors, one cannot help but abandon the overcrowded food court for a taste of something new and delicious. I absolutely love the chicken pesto sandwich! I usually avoid chicken sandwiches because they tend to be dry and under-seasoned, but The Hungry Nomad definitely knows how to season their white meat and are not skimping when it comes to that creamy pesto aioli sauce. In addition to the well-seasoned chicken and yummy pesto sauce, the sandwich comes with avocados, sun-dried tomatoes, provolone cheese, and is served on a fresh and crisp french roll. I’ve had this sandwich on three different occasions and each time it is consistently flavorful and satisfying — now my go-to lunch option when they’re here at Cal State LA. When on campus, you can expect to find a line of students waiting to place their order in. Though I have had to wait for a short while in line, the food does not take too long to come out. With food trucks you’ve got to be realistic — its a small kitchen, with usually 1 or 2 cooks, so don’t place an order if you have a class starting in 5 minutes and its a 3 minute walk to the building and up the stairs; you simply will not get your food out in time. Originally their chicken pesto was priced at $ 8, but just recently I’ve noticed they raised their price to $ 9. Kinda bummed, but its still a really great sandwich that I’d choose over Carl’s Jr. or Sabarro anyway.

I am not impressed with Hungry Nomad’s visit to the Jackalope Arts Fair yesterday. A paper menu was handed out that didn’t actually reflect what they had available that day. I was ordering for a group, and after a half hour in line I was told that 3 of the 4 items I wanted to order they didn’t have(ran out or weren’t actually selling that day). I was told their website menu had been updated accordingly, so I ordered what I could and went back to my group to get their second choices. They looked up the new menu, and items that I’d just been told were sold out were still on the site. I then waited another half hour to get my first order. My group was satisfied with their food, but the potato salad was undercooked, and I threw away half the chicken sandwich. Not worth the wait or the headache.

The Nomad Steak Sandwich is my meal of choice. Really good for the money. The seasoned fries are tasty as well. Another truck I can add to my list and they can count on me to visit them every time they are near the office. Until next time. **2 thumbs up**

If you say you are showing up to a location, stay for the duration. You left the west gate awfully fast. No matter, you are on my boycott list.

Food Poisoning. My friend and i shared a chicken sandwich at about 9:30AM Sunday morning 11-16-2014. We were at a walk to end epilepsy event in support of my aunt. It was about two hours after eating the sandwich i started to feel slightly nauseous… got home around 3:00PM and had chills and extreme nausea… when i found out my friend had the exact same symptoms we realized it was food poisoning from the sandwich we shared… that was the only food we shared. We both had chills and threw up later that evening and into the night. It is Monday night now and we feel much better but still a little weak. I never would have wrote this review if only i got sick, as it would have been hard to pinpoint the source… the fact that we both got sick and the only food we shared was the sandwich is pretty clear to us it was the food truck.

One of the best salads ever(Fatoush with Chicken) very flavorful, healthy. and pretty authentic. I love whenever they come by my office.

My review is in response to Scott M’s review below. I was the event organizer who helped him. I did an investigation of the wait times and no one in the line had waited longer than 20 minutes. I stood with all of them until they got their food. They were good-natured and realized that this was not«fast food» but cooked to order. One person even sought me out later to tell me how good their food was. When Scott M. got to me, he was livid and stated that he had been waiting an hour and wanted his money back. I pulled his ticket, placed 11 minutes earlier, and got him an immediate refund. Not sure why he has any reason to complain.

Good truck name. If I was a hungry nomad though, I think my dishes would be scraps of random meat and vegetables here and there and not some elegant chicken pesto sandwich that I’m compelled to eat with one or two pinkies pointed north. But that’s not the problem here. I ordered the chicken pesto as recommended by other reviewers and it didn’t excite me for $ 7. It wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great, and in the end it wasn’t memorable to me. If it was like $ 5 that would be more memorable. I would go back to try other things — there have been much more offensive things I’ve experienced in my life.

Awesomeness. Total awesomeness. If I could, I would pay to have this truck parked in front of my house every night. If savory is one of your love languages(don’t argue with me, savory IS a love language), go hungry for the entire day and then binge eat here. The smells of this truck will drive your hunger to zombie-frenzy heights. You’ll have food on your face and you won’t care. You won’t want to offer your girlfriend a bite. You’ll cut in line to get a second order of what you just ordered. I had the blue cheesesteak sandwich and I must have eaten it in four bites. I don’t even remember chewing. I just inhaled it. And I made a concerted effort to not inhale my food years ago. Okay, so this review has a lot of hyperbole. But the Hungry Nomad has the kind of goodness that elicits hyperbole.

Chicken wrap is usually a safe overall bet at any eatery, but for somehow the Hungry Nomad seemed to mess it out. It’s most likely because their chicken comes out of a giant costco sized bag and seasoned a bit. I thought the whole point of food trucks is that they’re innovative and fresh, I guess that was only in the beginning of the food truck movement.

Chicken pesto is worth getting every time as far as I’m concerned. Had them at a Unilocal event, then they gave out a coupon so I had them again. then they showed up as a food truck at the Oscars Outdoors — all three times I got the pesto. One of my favorite sammies ever.

My first time ordering from the Nomad Truck… I opted for the Chicken Pesto sandwich $ 8.50 ( ) There was no one in line… just me, myself and I. I was given a ticket number when I paid for my order. I waited about 10 mins. When they called me, I reached out for my order… that girl would not give me my order until I give her my ticket. I looked around… I swear there’s a weed tumbling down the street, THEREISNOONEHEREBUTME! Okay whatever, I gave her my ticket and took my lunch back to work. Back to the sandwich, the Chicken Pesto was pretty good… healthy, light and good balance of flavors. It’s a pretty big sandwich so you’re getting a good bang for your buck(I saved half for dinner). Overall an average food truck, nothing really lit my fire… however much better than eating food from my work’s cafeteria.
