CA Catering

We have mixed reviews about CA Catering.
CA himself was a bit of a disappointment. As the leader of the business, he came across on multiple occasions as disinterested and unresponsive. We paid an additional fee to have CA oversee the setup of our reception site. While most things looked great and were in order based on what we had coordinated through his assistant Janive, CA did not execute on our lighting design (which we were again required to pay an additional fee for) and which we had discussed in great detail prior to the wedding day. When questioned about the lack of execution based on our vision, CA gave many excuses and said he used his professional judgment and his own interpretation of what looked good to execute in the manner he did, rather than the way we had agreed upon. We were very disappointed with the lighting under the tent at our wedding; an element we had entrusted to CA himself.
On the other hand, we have only positive things to say about CA’s assistant Janive. She was an absolute delight to work with from minute one. She was friendly, helpful, understanding, accommodating and very responsive.
The food CA’s team produced was delicious. The service was excellent (although we again had to pay for extra wait staff in order to have the service we thought should be considered standard). CA’s team ultimately did a very nice job making our wedding vision come to life.
Unfortunately, CA’s uninterested demeanor ruined what could have otherwise been a great working relationship.

We used CA Catering for our wedding a couple months ago, and we’re very happy with our experience. As soon as we met CA we knew we wanted to hire him. CA, his wife Marta, and assistant Janive were all very helpful in planning our wedding day. I loved their set up and décor at our venue, I loved our table settings, I loved our food, and I loved our dessert table! I got compliments both on our food, and on the attentiveness of the servers/​bartenders. Our wedding went off without a hitch and I owe it to CA and Marta.

CA Catering is the best there is! CA makes it so seamless, so you can concentrate on other things. The food is top notch! I wouldn’t go anywhere else!!!

CA Catering is fantastic! Marta and CA are so easy to work with during the planning of an event, and then on the day of the event, the whole process goes so smoothly. The food is delicious and presented in a gorgeous manner!
Use CA Catering for your next event — you won’t be sorry!

I’m using CA for my wedding/​reception catering. Thus far, I have had a good experience with CA and experienced great customer service! CA has been a delight to work with, and his staff has been professional and they make it a point to make you feel as though your wedding is an important day. CA seems to have a great handle on weddings and has done a good job in communicating with me about any issues and needs I’ve brought to him. He does a good job with destination brides, and he is flexible to meet with. My wedding isn’t until March 2014, but so far CA has been great with us and I look forward to posting another positive review here in March!

I have been to a couple of functions which CA catered. The first experience was mediocre, but only a cocktail party. Most recently, I attended a wedding and the dinner was awful to say the least. I felt so bad for the couple, whom i know spent a lot of money per person, because during the reception the guests were planning on where to go for dinner!

Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with CA Catering. I’m not even sure where to begin and every time I think about them and the situation it truly breaks my heart because they did not show their commitment to our special day. So here goes:
Communication
They showed a lack of proper communication, professionalism and attention to detail. When I say they, I really mean CA as I had very little interaction with anyone else. There were multiple occasions where my emails would go unanswered and I had to follow up multiple times in order to get a response. I understand we are all busy and I don’t expect an immediate response however allowing several days/​weeks to go by without a response was a bit frustrating. Once I did get a response, all my questions would not be answered and I had to follow up again. Extremely frustrating!
Hors d’oeuvres and the dinner
The majority of the hors d’oeuvres were bland, tasteless and lacked presentation. The dinner was not much better. I heard this from multiple guests which was quite embarrassing. I was supposed to have a dual course menu of chicken and shrimp, however some people never received shrimp and those that did only received 1?! Some of our guests had to request for the shrimp which again was quite embarrassing and disappointing, considering the amount of money I paid him. My photographers never received their dinner. I was especially disappointed about this because they worked really hard all day and should have had a proper dinner. I can only imagine they were starving! When my sister inquired about the food for the vendors, she was told that guests will be served first and then the vendors, which is understandable, however this did not happen.
The signature drink
This was one of my biggest disappointments. I had specifically requested for a signature drink– pisco sour. Unfortunately, it did not taste authentic at all and it definitely did not taste the same as when I sampled it during the tasting. To be honest I am not sure if it even had pisco in it. I ordered one from the bar during a slow time and the bartender did not use a blender, no lime, and no egg. The purpose of the specialty drink was to add a special Peruvian touch, however it was embarrassing to serve this as a pisco sour.
Professionalism
We were disappointed that my husband and I were confronted about a table seating mishap as we were getting ready to walk out on to the dance floor for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Plunkett. This was very bad timing and expected more from the staff than to be pressured and questioned at a crucial time.

Cupcake Tower (wedding cake)
Extremely disappointed by the cupcakes. The frosting of the cupcakes were all melted! Butter cream was used even though I specifically requested cream cheese frosting. I cannot express how disappointed I was by this. Really?!? Who serves melted cupcakes!!!
With all that being said I would obviously not recommend them to anyone. It was an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. I hope this review helps someone out there!
