Just about a year ago I was told by my landlord that we had outgrown our apartment and he had asked us to leave. We were 3 people living in a 1 bedroom so we understood. The only place we could find at the time was Ramblewood in Holbrook ma that had open apartments at that time(we needed an October move in date). I read all the recent reviews on the place and saw they were all good so we jumped on moving in here. We saw the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apt and it looked very clean. While going over the lease and everything they never told us about their smoking policy which was that you ARE allowed to smoke in your apartment which both my daughter and I have very bad asthma and I would NOT have moved in knowing this. Then on move in day right after we got all of our stuff into the apartment we found DEADCOCKROACHES all over the place. In the kitchen cabnets, buried into the carpet and in the bathrooms. Also we found mushed up French fries in the radiators. We tried to contact the office about this but they must have left early that day cause during their open hours they were closed. I was grossed out and pissed. I was paying $ 1500 a month to live with COCKROACHES. I was told by the office the next day to not unpack my kitchen and that they will get someone to spray for roaches in our apartment. They never informed us that the apartment was just sprayed a month before we moved in because the apartment next to us was the one with the roaches. So I never got sprayed again and my kitchen waited a week before I could unpack cause they never told me that they were not spraying since they just did it a month before we moved in. Well we should have been told of the pest issue per mass law. Again I was pissed. I had a doctors note about my daughters asthma(she was 4 at the time) and could have gotten one for me but figured a minors health would be good enough to get us out of our lease and they DENIED us. I had to speak with a lawyer and I sent them a letter to appeal the decision and we finally got out. Had to give a 60 day notice but we are finally out. Then we got our security deposit back minus $ 100. They claim its for 2 days rent because we moved out AFTER the office closed on Saturday so they didn’t get our keys till Monday even though I was out on the 31st of the month and put my keys in the drop box in the office. I would NOT recommend anyone living here. It is full of dirty disgusting people who could care less about being clean and have no respect for their neighbors. The office staff never returned your phone calls and never answered the phone. Then they were not truthful when we signed the lease and broke MANY laws(according to my lawyer). The only good thing was maintance was pretty good at getting these fixed in a timely manner but that does not make up for all the bad here. DONOTMOVEHERE! ROACHES, SECONDHANDSMOKE&LOUDDISREPECTFULNEIGHBORS! Who gives a FUCK if the grounds look nice. The inside of the buildings look like trash and nobody is willing to take care of it.
