A quick Unilocal search on my phone app showed I had a much closer phở place near my house. I decided to go to Viet House even though it was rainy and 25 mins away because of the positive reviews. This was probably one of the cleanest phở restaurants with the most attentive and friendly employees that I’ve been to. Warmly greeted with a hot cup of tea and glass of water I knew it was going to be a place I would like. A quick glance at the menu and I noticed that the phở was more expensive than I was used to with a regular bowl at almost $ 9. I ordered the combination phở and everything about it was perfect. The broth tasted like it was painstakingly simmering for hours, the sliced beef tasted fresh, tendon and tripe were tender, and the meatballs(purchased across the street at the grocery store) somehow even tasted magical. I also noticed that they even rinse their bean sprouts and Thai basil. Which compared to some of the phở places I’ve been to where the bean sprouts look like they’ve been pulled out of someone’s pocket, was greatly appreciated! Phở is one of those food items though that after you eat it, you’ll be hungry 2 hours later. Solution? More phở. Phở Yeah!

The specials here ate really good. The caramelized pork belly is my absolute favorite buy the Shaken Chicken, spicy version is right up there next to it. Such a friendly restaurant, with great and involved owners. Try this restaurant, you’ll like it.
