The main reason I go here is convenience — it is the closest hardware store to me, and, if I know what I am getting, I can get in and out quickly. Prices are a little steep, but that is what I would expect for the convenience and for the type of store. I do have to agree with other reviewers that the workers/managers are not very friendly or helpful in the store. If you need help, basically there is the manager and one or two others who have some knowledge, but the kids working in the store are not trained, are really bored and would really rather be somewhere else. Overall, I do not feel that welcome when I enter the store, and when I do have questions, sometimes I feel like I am being a bother rather than a customer. I also have been to the Prices Corner True Value, and the difference in customer service between the two stores is like night and day. When I have walked into the Prices Corner True Value, they welcome me, and they go out of their way to be of service.

I totally agree with Andrew. And, in addition, the«older gentlemen» there treat female customers like they’re invisible. I was in there last week, after doing research before I went in, because I knew THEY wouldn’t help me. As I was checking out, some newbie male came in, in a rush, and wanted to just ask a question. The guy at the register«helping» me, ignored him(and me, prior to picking out my own stuff and taking it to the counter). Finally after at least five minutes of ignoring him the old guy said, «How can I help you?» The guy was looking for a specific product and the«salesman» replied, «Aisle One.»(Two words). The customer started to go down Aisle two, and the guy said, dripping with disrespect, «I SAID Aisle ONE!» I’ve never gone in there in six months when someone in there said, «HI, can I help you with anything?» Or even make eye contact. That’s the atmosphere of the whole store. I hate it. I only go there when I need something really fast, and can take 5 deep breaths before going in there. The kids working there are only reflecting the business«ethics» of the managers. I can’t believe they’ve survived all these years. I would rather have 3 root canals than go in there. My daughter is a professional painter. She was told(after 10 years in the painting business) that she probably didn’t realize this, but she really didn’t want the color paint she has asked for. She walked out. My next door neighbor won’t go there either. The huge Box Stores are MUCH more helpful than these guys. Someone ought to clean house of the Good Old Boy bunch they have there, and get customer oriented people instead. Including women. Their sales would sky rocket.

They have a nice selection of items. Everything is a bit more expensive than larger stores with a more limited selection. The older gentlemen are helpful and know where things are in the store. It would be nice if the store manager would train the younger employees in customer service. When I walk in the store and there are no other customers it would be nice if the person behind the counter stopped texting for 5 seconds, lifted their head, smiled, and said Hello. Or welcome to True Value. Or can I help you find anything. Or isn’t the weather nice. But if working at the store is that boring and they are not even expected to clean or stock the shelves, then I don’t see why it is such a burden to stop texting and at least pretend to be friendly. The store manager should make a no cell phone policy for the employees who can’t figure out what to do while they are at work.

Went into this store on Friday 03÷13÷15 because I was in the area and needed keys made. I usually go to the Prices Corner store and they are awesome and knowledgeable there. Apparently True Value muse franchise their stores… This Lantana Square store is a dud. I walked in and two kids were behind the counter. I told one of them that I needed keys and he said he didn’t have two of the blanks needed for my keys… I said ok and was going to go to Home Depot… Then he said he had them… he made the keys which were kwik set and Shlage… he used some generic keys. and I asked for my money back… an adult older bald guy came out and said the keys were kwik set… OMG…incompetence and ineptitude… avoid this place unless you know exactly what you need… I went to Home Depot and all of my keys were made with appropriate blanks… for two cents more for each key,…

Great selection and friendly employees. They have a tons of stuff crammed into this store. If you need anything from crow bars to SkyBars, this is the place to go.
