So this is for the re-vamped version of Clinton Social now known as Jack & Co. We came here the first night of it’s(re?) opening tonight. The ambience is better, the menu is better, although it seems the choices are at polar ends of the dining scale-meaning some items are very casual(e.g a burger), and some are way more elevated and expensive at that(stuffed filet mignon). The bartender Craig was very nice. The starters were pretty good-we tried the specials; cheesesteak rolls, polenta fries and the dirty fries. The first was pretty good-a but spicy, and nice chunks of meat(although I think del frisco’s are far superior), then the polenta fries were tasty and light. Unfortunately the dirty chips were only ok-the chips were good, but the blue cheese fonduta(yes, fonduta, not fondue) was a bit runny so the starter wasn’t as good as it could have been. We ordered the fried chicken BLT-seemed like it would be epic(due to the description and everyone ordering it), but when it came out, although it looked good, it was only ok. The fries that came with it were pretty good though(we ordered sweet potato, but regular came out, and they swapped them a few minutes later, so we got to try both). Last but not least, their drinks were good-the special G&T was good, but the strawberry basil mule was the best! Worth a try just for the cocktails

This place is good. Make sure you ask your server about the happy hour specials, they have drink specials M-F and we had a regular priced drink that didn’t taste that great, then ordered from the HH menu(sangria) it was delicious and only for 5 $. Food was to our surprise excellent. Would definitely go back

Chicken and waffles are out of bounds! The chicken is not on the bone but still is tender juicy and delicious. Also i think they have the best wings in hoboken. Always a solid choice for brunch.

I’ve tried this place twice now and I’m done. The service was better the second time but the food still isn’t that great. It wasn’t that busy but it seemed like it took a while to get our sandwiches and by the time we got them, they were cold!

Came here again for brunch and ordered chicken and waffles. Although I gave 4 stars last time for the ricotta pancakes, I want to give 2 stars for my experience today. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and it just was not enough food. Honestly, I am not one to eat a ton of food for a meal, but I actually still hungry after eating everything on my plate. It was just a small waffles and really really thin slices of crusted chicken on top. I just expected more from ordering chicken and waffles. It was good just not enough. Sigh.

I went with a few friends last night for some drinks. The place vibes nice and the drinks were really well made. I almost had to give 2 stars because our waitress looked THAT absolutely miserable. Not once did she smile. She wasn’t horribly rude, didn’t have to wait for her to ask us for refills, but she simply was miserable and unfriendly. Thus why I kept it at 3 stars and not 2, only because she did the job and I happen to like the place… Well she did her job ‘I guess.’ I understand you may have had a long night, and I get that I don’t necessarily know whats going on in your personal or work life, BUT you have customers… That SHOULDN’T know and frankly, don’t care. A pleasant face, not pissed off all night, is all I’m asking. Our group of 6 was highly uncomfortable. Too-bad, we would of stayed longer cuz the Social Martini drinks were on point.

Nice corner bar with chill atmosphere. Great place to meet friends after work, for a drink or dinner. Good selection of cocktails and beers. They have pleasant outdoor seating too; Easy to catch a game on a Sunday.

If I could leave zero stars I would. What can I say about this place apart from the fact that every single chef should be fired and taken to Gordon Ramsey’s abattoir and never allowed to see the light of day again. If God ever wanted to punish satan more, he should send down these cooks to prepare a three course meal. I came for restaurant week to have the specials. I had three inedible, poor quality pieces of chicken wing(twice), followed by a risotto cooked in a pan that was clearly perviously burnt(you could smell it) that came with two pieces of the cheapest chicken you could find, followed by a poor excuse of a rice pudding(all rice, no pudding!) My girlfriend had burnt pirogies(they are meant to be boiled so how in the hell do you do that), a brisket burger that seemed to contain no brisket or short rib as advertised and should be left for only the worst kind of people in the world to eat as a punishment. Her cake she liked at the end, as it tasted as if they had bought it from across the street and A&P. I think they probably did. Wine was good, service was excellent. Kitchen lets them down as does the bar. It’s a cocktail bar that does not know what a Moscow Mule is. Anyway, avoid at all costs. Go to A&P and pick up something and a bottle of wine to take home instead.

They sat us down outside and just left us for 15 min. It wasn’t even busy. I tried to give this a 1 star rating but Unilocal would only allow me to leave as s tip(ironic). So, I will post about what I was going to order but was never given the chance to: the filet mignon! Pity the absent minded server will not benefit from that expensive entrée. And I was going to have a martini! I’m sure I would have had two. Dessert? Why not?! Oh, but not to be. Shame on you, Clinton Social. Get your act together.

Came here for drinks so I can’t comment on the food. Service was terrible– extremely slow, took forever to get our drinks and we were the only ones in there. Us and a mouse that we saw. It was dead on a Friday night which is not a good sign. I don’t think I’d ever come back.

We had an enjoyable dinner here on a Tuesday evening. The service is what really made the night – it was impeccable. We arrived around 8 o’clock, party of five, no reservation, and we were seated immediately in their lovely outdoor patio area. We were checked on often, our drinks were always full, our waitress joked with us and made some great recommendations. Our food arrived quite promptly. The food itself was perfectly fine. I had heard great things about the four cheese grilled cheese(which includes ricotta and comes drizzled in caramel) but I was a little disappointed – the cheese was a little cold and congealed, the sandwich itself rather bland, served on plain white bread. Just not that interesting. Everyone at the table who had been to the restaurant before agreed that it was not as good as usual, so maybe the kitchen was just having an off night. My boyfriend enjoyed his grilled chicken sandwich, but wasn’t blown away. My father had the goat cheese and artichoke pierogis and thought they were just okay, perhaps a little bland as well. Honestly, my favorite thing at the table was my Simple Greens salad, and our waitress told us they make all their salad dressing in house, so I’m glad this one shone. I’d be interested to come back for brunch sometime, or maybe try ordering the grilled cheese again on another night. It’s a restaurant with great atmosphere and great service, so I’ll give their food another shot if I’m in the area again.

My husband and I visited this spot for a late lunch one Saturday. Even though it was a little chilly, we took advantage of the ample outdoor seating. We spilt pulled pork sliders as well as a white pizza. The pulled pork sliders were absolutely awesome! The white pizza was was very good, but probably not good enough that I would order it again. The staff was friendly and competent. I would definitely come back again to try the dinner or brunch menu.

We had dinner here one night and it was a fine experience. Décor: It has a pub/bar feel to it, pretty standard for Hoboken. You can eat in the bar or in the back room(which they claim is «quieter» but it’s really about the same). It also is a decent-sized place, about average. Bathroom: Clean, well-lit and gets the job done. Staff: Our waiter was quick with taking our order and the bus boys were constantly around clearing plates and refilling our water glasses — all good stuff! Food: We had the French Onion Soup Dumplings and the Wings to start(both were decent, the wings probably better than average) and then had the Short Rib(meh) and the fish(it was fine, nothing fantastic). Value: The prices are, just like everything else, just average. But, then again, as I think about it, prices are probably a bit high given that the food isn’t better than average. We gave it a second try, as I will for anything, but the experience was much the same. I don’t think we’ll be back again.

I live right down the road from Clinton Social so I wish I had a better experience there — I have had some good food but my thoughts on this restaurant are very mixed. I’ve had the french onion soup dumplings which are yummy and a great appetizer, I’ve also had the Blue Moon muscles which i thought were great. I love fennel and the broth they came in was tasty, the bread was toasted and was great for dipping. Those two dishes aside, I’ve not had the greatest experience there — I recently went for a quick dinner and ordered the Thai Beef Salad — it does advertise on the menu itself that it is spicy, but this beef was SPICY! I am a fan of spicy food and can handle more heat in my food than most, but my mouth was on fire half way through, so much that I couldn’t finish my plate and left hungry. This may have been manageable but I waited about 15 minutes before I could flag down a server for some more water. Both times I went to Clinton Social for dinner, they were training a new staffer on the floor who was shadowing our waiter, which made service and ordering slower and seemed to be confusing for the staff, as it was unclear who was supposed to come by to take our menus or our drink order. The rest of the floor staff was pretty inattentive as well. All this said, I’m not giving up on this place! There are some menu items that sound so appetizing like the goat cheese perogies and some of the pastas. It seems like I’ve been ordering the wrong dishes or gone at an inconvenient time as I have seen positive reviews on the place.

Great place for brunch, happy hour and dinner. Great wings with a fennel slaw– great! I am obsessed with French onion soup, so the dumplings were a must! Really good, but I would still prefer a huge bowl of soup. Drinks are delish too! The weekly specials are greats ½ price martinis thurs– duh!

My favorite place in Hoboken for sure! I’ve had many things here and everything is really good. Filet was awesome and cooked perfectly. For $ 30 it’s a little pricey but once in awhile vs driving to a steakhouse I just come here for good food, friendly service and great drinks :)

Sad. This place used to be one of my favorite local spots. Over the past 2 years the food quality has suffered which is too bad because the service is great along with the ambiance. Update: But, they have turned the corner and are really making an effort to improve the food. I have had several dishes here and they have made progress!

I pass by this place all the time since it’s right across from A&P Supermarket. They have a good menu with a bunch of things I’d like to try. They give you bread, butter and oil on the table while you are waiting for your meal. The bread wasn’t very good in my opinion. It was sliced bread and a little stale. I went with the Margherita pizza. It’s a decent sized personal pizza; I ate half and took the rest home. I would have liked a little more sauce, but it was still pretty good. My boyfriend ordered the short ribs which came with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. The short ribs were tender and tasty. Not as tender as possible but they were delicious and were cooked in a red sauce which was great. The spinach was sautéed with garlic and the potatoes were pretty standard. The service was great and the ambiance was cool and mellow. I’d like to come back and try some more of the menu. Hopefully bump them up a star in an updated review.

We went to Clinton Social for an early dinner date on a Friday night. I had only really been once or twice before and was not wowed by the food, just captured by the light that streams in from the large windows in the front dining room. The menu is pretty diverse so we found something easy enough. To start, my friend and I shared the French Onion Soup Dumplings. They were cheesy and salty and a little greasy like any French onion soup would be, with stringy sweet onions in every bite. The little dumpling cups however, were unfortunately undercooked, retaining the floury flavor that definitely disrupted the appetizer. I ordered the Pizza Bianco, which read really well– tangy goat and feta cheeses, asparagus, artichoke and pancetta. It sounded delicious, but in fact, it was just far too much hot cheese, while the other toppings totally took the back seat. After two and a half bites, I knew I could not eat it. Too, too much cheese(never thought I’d say that). I mentioned this to my server and he was super nice and spoke to the manager. They took my cheesy pizza off the bill and allowed me to order something else. I went the safe route and got the heaping salad my friend had ordered and was thoroughly enjoying. It was the Spinach and Blue Salad, complete with spiced walnuts, tart green apples, and a raspberry vinaigrette. I opted to add steak, which transformed the salad into a hearty meal. There were so many textures and flavors that I never got bored– the spicy nuts played well with the tangy earthy blue cheese and the fresh apples. Pretty yummy. Though the food was pretty standard with twists on some classics, the service was pretty outstanding. I appreciated how there was no dissonance when I was unsure about my pizza and it was so easy to get something that I would enjoy. The server and the manager definitely wanted us to be happy with our experience which is great customer service, and for that I will definitely go again.

A better than average Hoboken restaurant with good food, atmosphere, and service. Nothing was stand out exceptional but I would definitely go back again. We went for sunday brunch had the pancakes and steak and eggs. The food was tasty and the portions were average. l really liked that the dining area was spacious as we were able to bring in the stroller with no issue. The restaurant was very kid and baby friendly. The service was also good and the waitstaff was friendly. Overall a solid choice that won’t disappoint.
