I’ve been here a few times, and I have to say that the Hoboken breakfast sliders are out of this world. You have the Taylor ham, egg, American cheese, and hollandaise sauce on freshly baked bread — yeah, that’s the ticket. The place is never too full, but sometimes it can take some time to get service. The price is okay, but one tip: avoid the soft drinks. The bar is good, but you’ll get some watered down soda if that’s what you’re looking for. Overall, not a bad spot, but four stars solely because of that damn breakfast sandwich!

Background — I live pretty close to this place so it’s a convenient place to eat and drink every once in a while. Not typically my scene, but it’s on par with the rest of the Hoboken joints in its class. Also, I love Taylor Ham and they’ve got a few dishes that feature it. I’ve been here a few times for dinner and a few times for brunch. Experience — Leaves so much to be desired. The décor is your typical cookie cutter sports bar. Everything is wood with innocuous pictures of Jersey lore scattered about. There is usually music playing during most hours — usually poppy, but sometimes you hear some 90s jams. It can get pretty packed during dinner and especially during football games, but regardless of if its busy or not, service is ALWAYSTERRIBLE. Every time I have been in there, our drinks go empty and remain empty for an extended period of time. The time between your first drink and your order can be an eternity, and don’t even think about getting your check this century. Also, in groups of 3 or more, expect to get someone elses beer more than once. The Food & Drink — The only reason this place doesn’t get 1 star is that the food is decent. I really like Taylor Ham and they have a few dishes that feature it. The rice balls are delicious and so are the Taylor Ham and bagel sliders. There is some hollandaise/cream or cheese sauce that they use on both which is heavy, but delightful. Prepare to take a nap after the sliders. The chili dogs are pretty solid as well, but how can you screw that up, right? Brunch is medeocre to average at best. Obviously I didn’t enjoy any of the brunches I’ve had there because I can’t remember a single one. Beer list is typical of a cookie cutter Hoboken bar — all the Bud and Coors light your sweaty little heart desires along with the latest microbrew IPA gone mainstream. Bottom Line — Don’t go out of your way for this place. Even if it’s on your way, go down the road to Wicked Wolf or something on Washington street… unless you have a penchant for Taylor Ham, or maybe to watch a football game. But be forewarned — they clearly do not hire the waitstaff based on their exceptional service quality, if you know what I mean.

Came here for New Years, and was impressed! Love the décor, the staff was friendly, and the drinks were good and strong! Loved the old fashioneds. The menu for the event was fettucine bolognese(not the best I ever had but WAY better than I thought it was going to be), the bisque soup was served in AWESOME sourdough bread, and the cheesecake was fantastic. Service was good, even when it got crowded later on.

Wow. Where do I even begin? Are you ready? Last night, my husband and I finally got around to using one out of the three coupons that we had ordered on LivingSocial. We both enjoy oysters and couldn’t pass up the deal(18 oysters plus two draft beers). I also knew that Little Town offered 99¢ oysters Mon-Fri until 8 pm, so I was extra excited about trying this place out. We were seated immediately, as the place seemed pretty dead for an early Monday evening. The first thing I noticed was that the area where we were sitting smelled mildewy, like a wet/damp cloth soaked in urine had wiped the tables down. We moved to a different table from when we first were seated because I thought it was just our table. Nope. It was the entire restaurant that smelled foul. Fine, no biggie. Since I don’t drink, we substituted one of the draft beers for cranberry juice. We quickly placed our order for the 18 oysters and the Trio tower of chicken wings, chicken tenders, & sliders(with a side of grilled asparagus). About 15 minutes later, our oysters were ready. Let me just say, THANKGOD for my hubby’s near perfect vision because of what he saved me from devouring… He found not one, not two, but THREE nickel-sized translucent baby CRABS(still ALIVE and moving) laying on top of our oysters. I’m sure this is a delicacy in some cultures but we were NOT going to eat them. We were so grossed out, we had to send them back. The thought of almost swallowing them makes my skin crawl. Our waitress was kind enough to apologize, however we did not receive any formal apology from the chef himself nor from the restaurant manager. Uhm, ok. I didn’t want that to ruin our date night, so I let it go. Our Trio platter tasted pretty decent. At this point, we were trying to hurry up and leave. After we finished, we got the check and saw that we were charged FULL price for the rest of our meal. No formal apology. No discount. I think that was the tipping point for us. We weren’t expecting any freebies but ANY good business would have made some sort of accommodation to appease their customers. I mean c’mon! Wouldn’t you be grossed out by live moving mini crabs!?! It seriously looked like clear water bugs were noshing on the oysters. We are just disgusted and traumatized with the whole experience. We paid our $ 27 dinner with tip and vowed, 1) to post our experience on Unilocal and 2) to never come back to this restaurant again. Here’s hoping the NYC branch is cleaner and better when it comes to customer service and well being. Thanks, Little Town-Hoboken, for your token of appreciation. Hope you like mine.

Came here with 2 other friends for lunch. We initially ordered disco fries to share which honestly took forever to come out. They were pretty good once we finally got them The food here is okay. I had the boss burger which wasn’t terrible but wasn’t impressed either. My friends felt the same way about their meals as we’ll. My one friend asked for chicken on her salad and never got it, yet it still showed up on the bill. The waitress took long periods of time to come back to check on us and it wasn’t busy at all. Overall service wasn’t efficient and food was okay. When this place first opened up both were much better!

This is a good spot for watching the game and drinking a cold craft beer. Can’t say many nice things beside that. We walked in looking to watch some college football and get some food and drinks. Asked the hostess if she could help us with a table with a view of the TVs playing our game. She gave me a simple answer ‘No’. I stood waiting for the next words to come out of her mouth, I can take your name or would you like to start at the bar while a table opens up, but to my suprise the only words that came out next were for the people standing behind me. We shuffled over to the bar instead, which was mostly empty and the bartender was instantly more friendly, not wasting anytime taking our drink order and asking if we wanted to see a food menu. Great selection of local microbrews. The food was a mistake. We tried the three kinds of wings, all overly breaded and mushy. Not the crispy juicey bite you look for in a good wing. Also had a very chicken soaked in water smell to them, not sure if they were fresh or frozen cause the consistency was so off. Tried some side dishes and must say this was one of the worst mac n cheeses I’ve ever tasted. Strong raw flour taste, which the server confirmed was how they made it. I must say the food looked alot better than it tasted

Honestly, we were just looking for a place to pee. We felt badly just walking into an establishment and using the bathroom and leaving, so we ordered some things. Wish we had kept walking to another establishment because this place was just terrible all around. — Service was atrocious. When there’s 4 people standing around chatting and you can’t even get your order taken, you have a problem. — I understand your oysters are $ 0.99 each so they’re dirt cheap compared to upscale places but it does NOT mean you don’t detach the adductor muscle! When people have to destroy their oyster meat to remove the muscle, that’s not acceptable. I get $ 1 oysters elsewhere and they ALL remove the adductor muscle — there’s no excuse. — Oysters get served with fresh horseradish(which they didn’t have), sauce(s) and lemon. Yes those items are standard and yes you should have them and no, I shouldn’t have to ask for them. — The coffee tastes like *BLEEP*. It was by far the worst coffee I’ve had in as long as I can remember. I’ll take gas station coffee any day over this. — How long does it take to get someone to come over with the bill? Actually, how long does it take to get someone to give you any service? Answer: too effing long. Never coming back.

We had an amazing dinner here last night, and great service! We started with the Little Town Trio Tower, with the rice balls, chicken wings, and fried mozz — all absolutely delicious! Probably some of the best wings I’ve had in a very long time, and the rice balls came with this crazy sauce that was so good. For dinner the boys got the LT burger, very cheesy! The disco fries are huge, could use more gravy but tasted great anyway. The Mac and cheese and onion rings were phenom too! The Cobb salad was alright, not as great as the rest of the meal but it was good. Definitely will be coming back here, it looks like their burgers and fried foods are the way to go! Tasty tasty

No stars for this water front Restaurant. I just experienced the worst waitress and even worse food. Horrible. The only positive point was the manager took care of our check, after complaining to him about just everything. I am a Hoboken local and will never be returning or recommending this place. Bottom worst in Hoboken…

I’ve been here a few times, and although not of 5 star quality, I do not have anything bad to say about this place. Its one of the better, reasonably placed restaurants on the water. We’ve also ordered delivery through seamless, and our only complaint was that the food had gotten cold by the time it was delivered(20 minutes on a Friday night) so it could have been worse. The rice balls are simply okay, more cheese than anything else and it seemed that we were lucky to get some taylor ham in one of them. I enjoyed the hollandaise the most, but my boyfriend wasn’t a fan at all. It seems to be a hit or miss. The wings are good and have a lot of meat on them as opposed to breading and what not. The meatballs are tasty and tender, we only had them as an appetizer so I’m sure the entrée with pasta is just as good. The eggplant parm tower is also really flavorful. Too much breading for such thin slices of eggplant but all the sauces compliment the dish well. The BLT is unique with the combination pork belly and bacon. This was a win for me, even though it was pretty messy to get your hands around. Never had an issue with watered down or sugary drinks and the waitstaff was always super friendly and attentive.

My overview of this place is subpar to average. Food is average, waitstaff is slow, the bar is a bit incompetent and slow, but the atmosphere is good. There are lots of other places that are similar that can give you a better dining experience so I would recommend going there instead. Waitstaff — I had asked for a recommendation of a drink that wasnt spicy, so when the waiter recommended a mango jalepeno drink, I was skeptical, but said I trusted him. Big mistake! Holy Fire in my mouth. And things went downhill from there. He was slow, unresponsive, and brought out 2 of our 7 entrees incorrectly because he entered them in wrong. Getting water refilled would have been faster if I went into the Hudson and dipped my glass into it. So disappointing. Food — Average at best. They have some unique ideas but flavor and consistency falls short. My chicken on the salad was like dry cardboard, my husband got smoke chicken aka we add liquid smoke to the skin and then dry out the rest of the chicken in the cooking process, and the appetizers were just ok. I will say the zucchini blossoms were pretty tasty. Atmosphere — Actually pretty decent. I’d say come for drinks only, but thats a gamble if you want a good one. Maybe stick to beer and you’ve got it made at this place. The décor is where they really stand out. Very kitchy and cute. Bar — Slow and incompetent. They made drinks incorrectly and then somehow ran out of tonic, on a friday night, at 10pm. Really??? Critters — yes I have to review this too because there were some. Mouse on the loose! I cant bring myself to recommend this to anyone. Sorry.

Wow. I couldn’t have been more disappointed in my experience at Little Town. My cousin had been here a few times and said it was pretty good so I wanted to give it a try. I had the jalapeño margarita. It was ok, not spicy at all but I will give them points for not making it too sweet. After that I switched to beer. Our server was nice but barely present the whole time. It was busy, but not packed. My table ordered a bunch of things: Disco Fries — pretty good; if I had to go back I would just order these Wings — ok Open Faced Reuben — ok Salad — box mix :-( Mac and Cheese — not much flavor Manzo Meatballs — worst meatballs I’ve ever had in my life! I forced one down and someone else took a bite and the rest were left. Little Town should be ashamed to serve these. I told the server how bad they were and she took them off of the bill. I asked her if she’s ever tried them and she said, «no, I’m a vegetarian.» Lucky her! I couldn’t have been more disappointed in the balls! I do want to give a shout out to the hostess. When she saw me roll in with my suitcase she immediately offered to put it in the back room for me. So thoughtful and convenient!

I have been to Little Town on four different occasions and have yet to be disappointed. Everyone is super knowledgeable about the local brews and helps you pick the one that best suites you. And(fair warning-this is dramatic) I really feel that the rice balls are life changing for this Irish girl from Philly. The food always comes out hot and at the right pace. Best of all, the servers are all young, energetic and always have a smile on their faces. I will definitely be back!

I was hoping the reviews were wrong. I wanted this place to be stellar. Great location with a fantastic view. But the wow factor ended at the door. My friend and I ordered apps(the trio tower and Manzo balls) and they were just okay. I wasn’t impressed. Not given a ton of food considering we were sharing although there were about 6 Manzo balls in the order. They were the only item that was good. We also ordered two flights of beer, to try some of the brews they were«known for». My friend got his in the standard chilled flight glasses, while I got mine in warm rocks glasses. I didn’t even get to finish them all because my beer was warm by the time I got to the third one. Call me a snot but there’s nothing worse than warm beer. The waitress said that they were«out» of flight trays at that moment. I looked around and of the dozen other customers in the place, not one of them were drinking flights. :crickets: The dessert was a swing and a miss too. The Zeppoles were overcooked and the brownie sundae was sad. My friend was super disappointed because they made it with chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla. I helped him get through it and he luckily lived to tell his tale. The only highlight in my opinion was the blueberry margarita. It was very refreshing — made with muddled blueberries. I was happy! Then I saw on the bill that the were $ 10 each(they came in small mason jars and displaced with a ton of ice) and I was sad again. Our whole bill was $ 94 and upon seeing that we hated life at that exact moment and painfully took out our cards to pay. In all, it was not worth the price. We didn’t even have a full meal so whhhhyyyy were things that pricey? WHYYYYY.

Amazing menu selection. Every time I go, I try something new and am always happy. The atmosphere is really cool here too and if you are a Bravo fan like myself, you see an occasional RHONJ sighting with the Manzo family. What is the most neat about little town is literally everything from the food ingredients to the beer is made from Jersey! #jerseypride

I have been so anxious to go try this place. I went with my hubby and my son(20months). We went at about 3pm on Presidents’ Day. About 5 other tables of people. I gave 4⁄5 because our service was abit slow even though there were not many other tables. I asked for a drink menu and was told there wasn’t one. So I ordered a basic Cosmo(it was delish) but I later found a cocktail menu on the table which I would have like to order from. Ah well. The food was amazing. We split the meatball app it was such a nostalgic feeling for me. Tastes just like my grandmothers Sunday sauce meatballs. I was very happy! Came with garlic toast, abit over cooked but the garlic taste was perfect. I had the deluxe burger and fries it was great. Tasted fresh. Hubby had the«farmers daughter» wrap. He was very happy with it! My son had the corn dog and fries and he was very pleased. My only down for that was there was only one corn dog(abit over cooked) and SOMANYFRIES) I’d be happier with maybe two smaller corn dogs mans less fries? Hmm We ordered the zeppole for dessert. Yummy! Next time I go I’ll look for that drink menu and want to hit up that skii ball! :) All in all a good experience.

It was a quiet lunchtime at Little Town. There were only a people sitting at the lower tables, booths in an elevated nook, or at the sundrenched bar. The lunch menu has appetizers ranging from meatballs to fried mozz, differently flavored wings, sandwiches, soups and salads. Little Town also offers a ton of craft brews for a decent price. Our server, Nick, was really helpful. When my friend ordered a beer that was not offered, he brought her samples of similar beers that they did carry. The two of us each ordered an appetizer, and my friend wanted sliders. To save us money, he recommended that we get the appetizer trio, though it would be less food, we would get a bigger bang for our buck. Nick was friendly and accommodating, which we appreciated. We had the« Unilocal famous» fried rice balls, which were quite delicious– crunchy on the outside, warm and chewy rice mixed with thick chunks of ham and a ton of melty cheese inside. The balls packed some heat, cutting their richness. The everything bagel crusted chicken fingers, a last minute addition, were decent as the chicken was moist but the breading was too browned and questionable. Each slider looked just right, topped with a ton of onions and a bunch of cheese. My LT Burger was really tasty. The bloody medium rare patty was as a foundation for breakfast on a bun. It was topped with thick slices of salty bacon, a runny poached egg, and just enough creamy béchamel, making this burger like a meaty eggs Benedict. The bun was fluffy and a great sponge for the runny yellow yolk, and the variety of flavors and textures combined perfectly. It was just a little bit greasy, which eventually diminished its initial deliciousness. The food came out pretty slow especially considering how few patrons there were. I cannot imagine what it’s like when busy. The atmosphere was nice, but this possibly had to do with time of day. It could just be easy and quiet for lunch but get rowdier during a happy hour when people get into the skeeball in the back. I would like to come back and maybe try some more of the local fare and some brews.

I’ve been here enough times now to write a solid and fair review. I will say 3.5 stars but definitely rounding up. I know that makes no sense, but go with it. I actually avoided Little Town for about 4 months after they opened based solely on the Unilocal reviews. I have been a bunch of times since and experiences have varied, but not too much. Here it is, plain and simple. It’s a simple place, it isn’t over the top, it is clean and has pretty good food. Is it Fig Tree food, no, is it Boa on the weekend, no. Is it trying to be either of those places, no. And thank god. Let it be what it wants to be, some place that has some NJ pride. If one thing Jersians have it’s pride in our state and I think a restaurant that uses that as a theme is great. Anyway, the service here can be spotty. It can be stellar it can be… whomp whomp. I have had both and in between but it has never been to the point where I would walk out or hop on my high bar stool(a drunks equivalent to high horse) and complain to a manager. There is one bartender however who has such an attitude I avoid having her poor my drinks. The food is pretty good. The NJBLT is excellent and the rice balls with PORKROLL(I will continue this argument in every review, Pork Roll is the food, Taylor is a company, Cases also makes pork roll and so does Shop Rite but you don’t call it Shop Rite Ham… anyway). The rice balls are the highlight of that menu good god are they amazing. The wings are actually damn good in a town that has surprisingly few great wing options. The burgers are average and the wrap with just eggplant and lettuce is disappointing, don’t get it. It’s lettuce with a sliver of eggplant. I will say this about the food, priding in NJ produce, etc. they should have some seasonal NJ dishes and a rotating menu instead of just a static menu. Change it up with the 4 seasons that NJ has, and I don’t mean Frankie Valli. At night I was afraid to come here because of what I perceived may be a hardcore faux hawk bro crowd with girls in tiaras. Alas, the few times I’ve been here at night it is chill, and not filled with Pauly and his friends from Bayonne. They’ve had bands the last couple times, actual bands that play actual instruments not DJ Doucheymic. I like it here a lot and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I will drink NJ beer and eat NJ food until I puke and I’m proud of it. No Coors Lite on tap here and that is spectacular.

I watch too much trashy reality TV, and Real Housewives of New Jersey is one of my favorites. Not even going to pretend that wasn’t the reason for me wanting to come to Little Town. I was a little disappointed that Caroline’s meatballs and Sunday gravy were nowhere to be found on the menu, but I had the NJBLT which was fantastic. It had pork belly AND bacon. Yum. Slap avocado on pretty much anything and I’ll eat it. The homemade kettle chips were good too. I also had a mojito, which at $ 12 is a little pricey from my perspective, but alas this is still technically New York, so I won’t complain. It was also delicious and appropriately strong, so I didn’t mind spending that much either. Had I had more time to spend, I may have ordered something a little more elaborate — the Brownstone Brisket sounded freakin fantastic, but I needed something small and quick as I had to fairly quickly get back on the PATH to Manhattan and make the 8:06 Metro North back to New Haven as it was the last connection to Shore Line East for the night… I sat outside, and the view of the Manhattan skyline was gorgeous. Grateful for such a nice October evening to not be freezing. I was a little concerned when I got there because the tips on Foursquare were horrendous in regards to the speed of service, but I had no complaints, I was in and out in less than half an hour! I can’t wait to go back(perhaps my next trip to New York at the end of the month, since it’s a quick PATH ride and 5 minute walk from Hoboken terminal) and preferably with a companion as I wanted to order the disco fries and not feel like a complete pig. A lot of the apps sounded fantastic, but I had nobody to share them with. I was a little sad that I didn’t see Albie or Chris. OHWELL. The Manzos do obviously know what they’re doing in the restaurant business though!
