Came here Sunday evening and it was great! The food was out of this world. The filet mignon ravioli has a mushroom sauce on there that accents the meat and was the perfect combination, I will definitely be back for that. My wife has a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating and had a variety of options for her to choose from. To end our meal we both ordered some ice cream. My wife got the rocky road and I got the mint chocolate chip. By far, not even close, the best ice cream we’ve ever had!!! The staff was excellent, very attentive and courteous to all customers. It is BYOB so make sure you bring some wine. I will 100% come here again and I would recommend this place to anyone!

Came here sat night. All of the food was delicious and the portions were very generous. Chef Antonio Goodman is gifted. Loved that you could order main course as app sized. also love that it’s byob. I had the special app which was vegetable Napoleon them had the filet mignon ravioli; both were amazing and I even had leftovers. The restaurant can get a little loud and we did have to ask 4 times before they finally brought the bread bit I’m giving this restaurant 5 stars for the wonderful food and ambiance and also because the bill was only $ 112 per couple which included the tip!

Whenever we are thinking about going out for din I always add in a quick… «How about St. Eve’s?» I absolutely love the cozy feel and trendy décor along with the food of course. We once asked if the barn doors were just for display to which the server opened the doors and showed us that there was another room of tables inside. They should leave it open all the time! The sophisticated menu changes often but always remains small. The dishes aren’t for everyone and puts some items together that don’t work in your head but work on the plate. Go in with an open mind and try EVERYTHING. I don’t even like kale but they had this kale salad with fruit and other trinkets in an amazing dressing that is my favorite salad on earth. I never liked scallops when I was a kid and gave them a second try here in a lemony white sauce –delish! The filet mignon ravs are always a winner with others although I’m personally not crazy about them. Portions are tiny so smaller groups of 2 – 4 work best in my opinion. Overall everything feels and tastes fresh with an authentic farm to table feel to it. Plus there’s lots of tables outside in the summer. Go out and find this hidden gem.

Where do I begin… I’ve been thinking about my dinner for a few days now mostly because of my experience. On a Saturday night, making a reservation for 9 people is quite the task for a restaurant. Being that it is busy on the weekends, we showed up early and only waited a few minutes for our table then we prompted started opening wine bottles!(It’s BYOB, with a liquor store right next door.) Our server was great, very nice and definitely fed into our girl’s only dinner vibe we had going. We started with a few appetizers to share; fresh Mozzarella eggplant salad, the Gluten-free Crab cake, the Goat cheese Fritter, and the Sirloin Carpaccio. All were very good, except the mozzarella needed a touch of salt. There was also various warm breads on the table including a banana bread that I could’ve eaten all night. For entre there was a slight problem; the kitchen only had two orders of short ribs left and more than that wanted it. It worked out for me because the filet mignon ravioli that I ordered had a little short rib and mushroom wine glaze on top and everyone was pleased with their dishes also. These included the Flatiron steak, lemon Sole with crabmeat and asparagus, and the special of the night Short Rib with a red wine mushroom glaze. We ended with a small assortment of desserts because we were all in our food coma’s were just starting. We choose the Nutella Crème Brulee, Warm apple Frangipane tart and the Flourless dark chocolate Espresso Torte. Overall it was a perfect night and we all thought about making this a yearly visit.

Canceled my reservation before even stepping foot in this place. Score Zero for hospitality(or lack thereof). Was going to celebrate my wife’s birthday with few friends there but they told us we can’t bring her a birthday cake and if we would we’d be charged $ 8PERSLICE! really. What a joke. If you’re going to plan a birthday party there, seriously re-consider.

I’ve had dinner here a few times now and have had such a great meal each time. Sometimes it can get a little loud but overall a great dining experience and fabulous food!

Second visit only confirmed our first impression. Great food, great service and comfortable atmosphere. Love venison but have had bad experiences at other highly rated restaurants in the area so when the waiter mentioned it on the list of specials I was reluctant. Ordered it anyway and couldn’t have been more pleased. It was cooked perfectly and as tender as any filet but with so much more flavor. We’ll definitely be back for a third visit.

Very expensive but worth it. Everything we ate was delicious, fresh, and had its own spin. The only downside is that it’s BYOB. While some like that to keep the cost down, I would like a cocktail before eating but I also know how hard liquor licenses are to come by. We had a large group and everyone was in love with their dishes. The appetizers, entrees, and desserts did not disappoint. I did think it was odd to see a cook(or the chef — no idea) hanging in the bar area dripping in sweat, staring at the dining area. If he was the chef, he should’ve gone table to table asking how things were. But I can forgive that because the food was outrageously delicious.

We visited this restaurant for the first time this past thursday. The service, and food was excellent. The tuna was cooked to perfection, and the 3 leche pound cake was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I was not impressed at all. The Matre D had very bad breath to start with. My waitress was not sure of the ingredients in the dishes. I had the scallops which were very tasty but very skimpy. Not worth the price n extremely close tables and noisey atmosphere.

I really wanted to give this place a great review but my experience here was not very good. The apps were the highlight as we had the mussels(thai style), half portion of the filet ravioli, and the Jumbo Alaskan King Crab Timbale. All three were good but the Timbale was more of a salad than anything else. Now for the entrees. My wife had the ribeye steak and I had the Veal special. The steak was slathered in blue cheese and it was too overpowering. You could barely taste the steak. The veal was just meh. Probably not going back with all the restaurant options nearby.

I recently visited St. Eve’s for the 3rd time for dinner. This restaurant is consistently excellent. The menu has many unique choices and is diverse.. The beet salad was delicious as was the filet mignon ravioli. For specials the duck salad appetizer was fantastic. The restaurant on our recent Saturday night visit was busy from 6:30 throughout the entire evening(@ 9:30 people were still trying to get a table). The service was great, we never felt rushed. The décor and overall feel to the restaurant is very inviting. Plus it’s a BYO!!! Make sure you make a reservation ahead of time and enjoy !

We have eaten here numerous times, food and service have always been great. Tonite we had an event for 30 people, which can be tough for a restaurant. The staff rose to the occasion. Our waiter, Steve was exceptional, and the food was amazing. They just switched to a fall menu, and it was executed without a hitch. St. Eves is clearly one of the best restaurants in Bergen County.

Wow! Wowwww!!! Filet mignon raviolis! All of our dishes were so wonderful, but the filet raviolis stood out on their own. I absolutely suggest to try these! The lobster and homemade coleslaw app that we got was fresh and crisp as well, service was outstanding and as we found out the owners wife is responsible for the down home rustic yet refined beautiful decorating !! I also suggest asking who the mill work/furniture crafter is while you’re there! Enjoy :)

As a native from South Jersey, I look forward to visiting my(90-year-old) grandma with my mom in her childhood neighborhood. We typically order Chinese take-out or visit the local Diner. But this past Saturday, my grandma was in the mood for picking up a good bottle of wine and having a nice dinner with her girls. She had been to St. Eve’s twice before with my aunt from Virginia(side note: the two visits were several months a part and the waitress remembered my aunt and grandma!) The ambiance, décor, and wait staff were all fantastic! We showed up right when they opened for dinner(5:00PM sharp!) and they warmly welcomed us, even without a reservation! Mom ordered the burger – it was good, but she wished she was more adventurous with her selection. Grandma ordered the half portion of the scallops and ate every bite! She always says she doesn’t really have a sophisticated palate but when it comes to her favorite thing to eat, she knows the good from the great and she loved it! I ordered the pasta dish with succulent shrimp and clams in a garlic lemon sauce with garlic bread crumbs, half portion. When it first came out, I almost laughed at how small the portion was. I didn’t expect colossal portions, given the place is refined and upscale, but since I held out all day for this meal I expected it to be bigger. NONETHELESS, I was thrilled with every bite and very full when it was gone! The papardelle pasta was a perfect pick for the dish and really satisfied my hunger. We all split an icecream cookie sandwich for desert and really enjoyed it! Of course, getting to spend quality time with my favorite people in the world is usually a wonderful time, but the St. Eve’s experience made it a stand-out memory for me and my family.

Just had a delightful lunch at St Eve’s in Hohokus, NJ – the friendliness hits you the moment you step in the door and it is all uphill from there. The salad main courses are freshly prepared and they all have great plate presentation. The chef cares about his ingredients and does not shortcut them. I would highly recommend this establishment for a pleasant ladies luncheon out or a romantic meal for two. Great ambience.

Just fabulous! Four of us had an 8:30 reservation on a Saturday night & it was a perfect time to get seated. We were served an assortment of tasty different breads to start. For apps, we got the filet mignon ravioli, carpaccio, & endive salad. Everyone immensly enjoyed them– especially the ravioli. For entrees we got the short ribs which you could cut with your fork, scallops which were so yummy, & the salmon. We actually got dessert as well. On top of the fabulous food, the service was impeccable & the place was decorated beautifully. Most definitely, I will be back!!!

Upgrading this to 5 stars… we hadn’t been there since our last visit a couple of months ago because my entrée was over-cooked and had to be sent back. It was handled really well and there were no issues but I guess it just made us a little wary. Anyway… SO glad we decided to go back last night… where do I start… I had the oysters for my appetizer and they were just amazing. Then I had the venison special which was indeed very special… it was melt-in-the mouth tender and full of flavor … my only complaint is that the meat portion wasn’t as generous as I would’ve like… but having said that, it came with an abundance of interesting vegetables… which I am sure is the healthier option. My husband had the goat cheese salad which came with a huge serving of crumbed goat cheese which was delish. He had the pork chop for his entrée, which was very interesting… a little on the spicy side which, once you get used to, was great. For dessert we had crème brûlée and brioche pudding… OMG… we were in heaven! Great way to end a great meal!

Nine of us went here for a birthday dinner on a Friday night. The place was packed, but everything went very smoothly. The wait staff was professional and knowledgable of the menu.(Kudos to not looking down at your paper when reciting the specials). The warm, complimentary bread(including banana bread and raisin bread) is awesome. We didn’t have any appetizers, but the entrees were great. The duck breast with quinoa was succulent. No other word to describe it. And every bite of the bouillabaisse was worth every penny of the $ 39 they charged for it. The people in my group seemed happy with their choice of short ribs, but were hoping for more. I thought the 20% automatic gratuity slapped on to our bill was a bit high, but I’m okay with it considering the effectiveness of the service. Overall, this is a great place to go with a small group or on a date. The atmosphere is dim and cozy, the staff knows what they’re doing, the food is excellent, and it’s BYOB!

Came here in a Friday evening with my wife’s aunt who we haven’t seen in a while, so we were expecting to sit all night talking. The décor is awesome here, really comfortable not pretentious. The lighting is great too especially at sundown, and although the restaurant was full we didn’t have to yell to hear each other. For starters I ordered the warm beet salad, great flavor nice vinaigrette, loved that it was served warm; the wife ordered the heirloom tomato and burrata, even though it’s early spring the tomato was still pretty tasty; for the entrée I ordered a special of sable fish with spinach and fingerlings, buttery in texture, perfectly prepared; the wife got the filet mignon ravioli, great flavor rich and awesome. For dessert I got the chocolate bar with olive oil gelato, dense and great with the gelato must try! The wife got the home made root beer float, what a difference in flavor you get with home made root beer, so awesome. I thought the service was good, but our server did a few things that just annoyed me, she grabbed the check immediately after the credit card slip was signed, even though it was in the middle of the table not on the outside, almost as if we were being rushed. And while we were sitting there talking, every few minutes someone would come along removing silverware or water glasses from our table as to say«leave». I could understand if she was trying to leave or if the restaurant was packed and they needed our table, but that was not this case. As soon as they brought the check, customer service stopped. This little issue would not prevent me from coming back, it just feels weird when the server makes it obvious that once you pay, it’s over. Especially when you are spending 75+ per head at a BYO
