Ordered cheeseburger with fries and buffalo shrimp at the pool bar, food took over an hour to come out of the kitchen. The cheeseburger was fresh and hot… taste just ok — the fries looked to be from another persons leftover food that had been dumped onto my plate cold, in pieces and just gross; the shrimp were stone cold as well. The waitress seemed clueless, overworked and just plain«over it». Sad, because the setting is so nice. Worst food, worst service.

Excellent food the raw oysters were delicious as was my triple tail fish fillet specialty. My wife any I also shared the wedge salad which was plenty for two people, the blue cheese dressing on it was obviously home made and full of big chunks of cheese. The service was great ask for Charles. Great evening for all. We were here in May 2015 and I was not impressed, but a year later after having a new manager they have turned this restaurant around. Any restaurant can be great with proper management.

I’m torn on the review. First time we went here was on a Thursday night and the place was empty. Super fast service and fantastic food. Second time(Sunday evening) it was packed and dinner took 3 hours. And that was WITH a reservation. We didn’t even get drinks for about 15 minutes of sitting down. Felt like we didn’t even have a waiter — like someone just helped us out cause they felt sorry for us while it seemed like the manager was standing around doing nothing. Food was good. I’d come back if I had a lot of time to spare for dinner. The reviews about poor service are spot on.

Can hardly believe. Mother’s day. Worst food and service. The étouffée was cold sent it back and the rice was hard!!! Bread was not crunchy. The chichen was tuff and flavorless. Crappy service. The worst Floyds. We will never be back. I work to hard to settle for mediocre.

Table of 5, catfish had zero taste, Crab claws fried we good but gumbo was luke warm to cold. Crab cakes taste bad period but 2 lb of crawfish were the best boiled. Service was good but food lacked taste. Floyd needs to show up at his place and get a handle on issues in his kitchen.

Great food, pretty and comfy dining rooms, big deck for the beautiful sunsets… what more do you need?

We used to come here often but service always left us disappointed. This visit was the opposite. There were several large parties in both rooms and our waitress was on top of everything. Had a visit from the manager let him know the bisque was extremely salty like someone dropped a box of salt by accident in the batch. I traded for the gumbo and it was all good. We had raw oysters and calamari to start with which everyone seemed to enjoy. Glad to see business and service are both picking back up. Will return soon.

I was a little hesitant to come to this place based on the overall mediocre review, but so glad we did. It’s a little nicer than I thought it would be. A lot of these waterfront restaraunts are little dive bar-ish. Not this one, although not so fancy that I felt out of place either. The food was delish! We didn’t order appetizers, just a house salad for me and a wedge salad for the hubs. The wedge was your typical wedge salad, hard to mess up but the house salad was really good with candied pecans and artisanal greens. For my entrée I ordered the mahi mahi with crab, topped with panko, then baked. It was divine and pretty rich. The hubs ordered the crispy red snapper which he said was good, but not as good as mine. we were too full to order dessert. They have a decent cocktail menu and wine list too. I only have one complaint and this is just something I seem to have an issue with; after my salad the server took the fork off the salad plate and set back down for me to use again. I had to wipe it with my napkin, well, because I have issues you see… Would’ve preferred a clean one. But that’s not a big deal to most people. I’ll def be coming back!

I give Floyd’s on the Water 5-stars. Now let me tell you why. We went to Floyd’s on the evening of Black Friday. We didn’t have Thanksgiving leftovers to eat and didn’t really want turkey again anyway. What it is not: It is not like the other two Floyd’s that are located in Webster and Pearland. What it is: A place with a large dining area with a view of the water. Admittedly, we went on a holiday weekend. The view was non-existent because it was humid, foggy, and dark. Reservations during the summer would be recommended. Given the season that we went, we did not have to wait for a table. The food was delicious. The entrees we ordered were Floyd’s Seafood Pasta and Triple Tail Lapaz(Grouper). The taste of the food had my taste buds begging for more, especially the seafood pasta. It was absolutely divine. Given the portion size, I could have brought some home. On this night, just like the day before(Thanksgiving), there was not any leftover. Shame on me, but it was delicious. I posted a photo of both entrees. On some nights, they have live music. Tonight, unexpectantly, they had live music with an acoustic guitar. The musician tonight was Andrew Bateman. I really enjoyed the music and it added to the overall ambiance of our evening. Tip: When I was there, if you checked-in on Unilocal, you got 10% off your bill(alcohol not included). If you’re looking for a new place to go, try Floyd’s. Get your smart phone out for directions as it is off the beaten path. If you found this review useful, funny, or cool, please let me know below. Thanks for reading.

We just moved to the area and found this place by accident. A 2 story resturant and bar on the water! Loved it from day 1! We sat downstairs at Slappys bar. It wasn’t very busy that day so we were able to spend time talking with the bartender Melissa.(who is awesome!) She was quick to get us our drinks and very personable. She suggested we try the«blackened boudin.» We did, and have every visit since that day. The food & drinks are great… the view is what gets into your soul. Most beautiful sunsets! Highly recommend

Where to start? With the good, because it will be short: We were seated right away on the patio as desired. Now the bad: Waitress came to take our drink order, we asked for waters and a drink menu(which we always ask for because they have tons of specialty drinks). Blank stare. The waitress had no idea they had a drink menu. She said she’d ask around. Before leaving, one person ordered a Coors Light. Also, for the rest of the review, every time I mention the waitress leaving, it always takes her at least 10 – 15 min to return. She returns with 1 drink menu and a Dos XX. Note that no one ordered a Dos XX. We accept the Dos XX and move one. Appetizers: 2 bar trash, 1 jalapenos, 1 crawfish bisque, 1 fondue. 20 min later, we receive: 0 bar trash(they’re out), 1 jalapenos, 1CRAB bisque, 1 fondue, 1 crab cake that no one ordered. All are luke warm to cold. More drinks: my wife orders a specialty margarita off the drink menu. Waitress returns 10 min later to ask what she ordered, because the bartender had never heard of it. It’s on the menu. Main courses: Mahi, catfish, crawfish bisque, sampler platter. We receive: everything except we get a shrimp bisque. Not sure why they can’t get their bisques right? All food is again luke warm to cold. Mmmmm cold mahi. Waitress also brings random margarita no one ordered, then is upset that 1) She’s doesn’t know who ordered it(because no one did) and 2) That we can’t tell her who(still no one) ordered it. Checks: split checks, completed F’d up. Random food that no one ordered on checks, different peoples food/drinks on different checks. I personally sent my check back twice to be corrected. And the best part: 20% GRATUITY. For most of the meal, we were the only party on the patio, and we were there for just over 3 hours.

Unfortunately understaffed yet not busy, the waitress didn’t have a good handle on the menu. We ordered two crawfish bisques and received one shrimp and one crab. We ordered two Oyster Bar Trash and were told they had ran out after our other appetizers arrived. Our entrees made it out correctly, impressively. Too many drinks/wrong drinks were ordered by our waitress, and then left on the tab after multiple attempts to clear up the problem. Several other minor things happened as well that I won’t list here. From kitchen to food runner to waitstaff, this operation seemed very inept on this Sunday. It’s unfortunate because I had heard good things.

Perfect day for a perfect lunch on the patio at Floyds. Husband and I started with the ceviche, which was fresh and delicious. He ordered the rib-eye and I had the amazing house salad with cold shrimp. The service was great. A hidden gem worth the drive!

I do love this place, I love the location, I love the food for the most part, and I love the view. This time I had the oyster bar trash as an APP and it was a bit short on trash for the price! I ordered red beans and rice and it was so overly salty I just couldn’t eat it. My companion tasted it and said would eat it later so I didn’t send it back. My companion had a burger that was huge and very tasty when I had a few bites. It can become quite expensive just ordering some food and sitting around chit chatting with friends and cocktails but I still love it.

The atmosphere was amazing! Service was meh. The waiter did not honor the 10%off bill from checking in here on Unilocal.Management claims they know nothing about it. Food is ok.

We received poor service at the downstairs bar on a Saturday. I’ll spare you the details, but they have hired a new manager and he hopes to improve the service. The food quality is fine but our food wait was about 45 minutes and it was cold when we got it. Folks this is just bar food. It could be served in 15 minutes or less. We’ll keep going back in hopes of better service. This is one of the few boat accessible restaurants so I hope they make it.

Love the food but obviously management is no where around. Wait staff and kitchen aren’t working as a team. It took us over 1 ½ hrs to get our food and we arrived at 4:30 on a Sunday. They were not crowded. Bisque was served colder than room temperature. We were very very disappointed as this is our go to place. Very sad to say that we will probably not ever be back.

Poor service from waitstaff. We asked another waiter for tartar and cocktail sauce because our waiter hardly waited on the table. And we still didn’t get any. Are the shrimp before it could get cold but the dirty rice was already cold. When checking in on Unilocal there was a 10% off the meal offered. I asked the waiter about it and he didn’t know. He said he would ask the manager. When he came back in 10 – 15 minutes, he said they did not honor the discount. He said it was put on without their knowledge. Uh this is 2015 and any business should scan social media regarding their restaurant. We may be back to have drinks at Slappys but totally not impressed with the restaurant.

We were a party of four during a slow Sunday evening. The time between ordering the drinks and finally receiving them was at least 20 minutes. Fruit Sangria was made with the wrong wine, mostly ice, with a single cherry and a lime quarter tossed in. My coffee didn’t arrive for a full 10 minutes after everyone else’s drinks. After placing our orders, we were made to wait for the better part of an hour before our food arrived, reiterating that it was slow and the restaurant was at less than half capacity. No one came to check our table, refill our drinks, or update on the status of our order. Twice I had to walk up to the bar to ask for more coffee/beverages because the wait staff were ghosts in the dining area. Never should a bartender be doing a waiters work, yet there she was, barely managing the bar plus 3 – 4 tables. Not to mention the poor bartender was working with a deep cut to her hand, which she at least had the mind to wear a latex glove over. Food finally arrived, but two identical(and OVERPRICED) orders didn’t match — the $ 25 Seafood Platter. 2 small fried shrimp, 2 muddy tasting fried oysters, 1 flavorless and meager catfish filet, half of a mutilated frog leg(just one), and a stuffed shrimp. There was a missing crab cake, which we had to prove to the owner was part of the order(by showing him his own menu) before he OK’d one to be brought out. The only truly delicious menu item was the Fried Alligator appetizer, which would have been more enjoyable if I had gotten more than 8 «nugget» sized pieces for the $ 15 price tag. Again, it was a SLOW night, yet three hours had passed between our arrival and our departure, and it only took 30 minutes for us to eat! No apologies were made, and no incentive to return was offered. Total cost for 4 people to eat undersized table-scraps: $ 112. Insulting. Final insult: seeing two of the wait staff just hanging out by the bar doing absolutely nothing while the bartender was doing their job. Terrible experience, unless you favor over-priced, flat tasting food at an extremely WASP-y part of the city.

I have a good friend who lives in Harborwalk and it’s been a pleasure having Floyd’s down the street when fishing doesn’t provide us with a meal at the end of the day! They’ve done a good job with a recent redecoration on the interior. textured walls and the usual semi-formal seafood restaurant décor. Marlin on the wall, pictures of the development back in the day, old fishing pictures in nice frames, etc. Service for us has always been top notch. Sparkle, Wonderful, and other servers always go above and beyond to make sure our orders are correct and promptly served to table. My favorite is the soft shell crab because that’s just something I always tend to order when it’s available anywhere I go. I have to say, they do a great job with their breading. Other memorable meals were the triple tail, pecan crusted mahi mahi, Crab Cakes, and etouffe. I’ll agree that the gumbo is not my favorite type. I prefer a bit more flour in the rou and Floyd’s does the runny type. Prices can be steep for the casual diner but I feel you get your money’s worth for some very well prepared seafood. Furthermore if you want to eat something a bit more casual or lower priced, Slappy’s Bar is open downstairs offering burgers, boudain, and po-boys that are always great simple options.
