Compass came in this year after taking over the property from the previous owner. We haven’t seen much improvements except for keeping the property a little cleaner and kicking out the old vehicles parked on the property that were not mobile. The have had 2 rent increases in the past 6 months. We have our rent sent in via bill pay so they automatically receive our payment on time every month. In December they advised us of the 2nd rent increase. By the time we were notified of this it was too late to change the auto bill pay and we had to have a second check cut from our bank for the difference. We called Compass Self Storage in Hiram and advised them of this and that the balance will arrive on 01⁄06(our payment is late on 01⁄07). They called us on the 7th and stated that they received our payment on the 7th and that they can not take partial payments so the first check nor the second check for the balance were processed and that they put a lock on our unit which will cost an additional $ 20 to remove. They would not listen to us and treated us as if we were poor tenants and they really didn’t care if we stayed or moved out. Extremely rude customer service. We requested the home office number which she gave us and then asked when we were moving out. They also refused to prorate our rent if we moved out before the end of the month. Rat infested! Our unit is rat infested to the point where we have lost several hundred dollars worth of merchandise. Congratulations Compass. You have chased away a loyal customer who pays their bill on time.
