Stopped by to try the soup and half sandwich combo. Menu is loaded with savory options, panini, quiche, salads. The variety of homemade candies and pies was impressive. Most extensive gluten free options I have seen as well. Started with the beef and lentil soup, which was quite tasty and not too salty. Then had the hot turkey panini with pepper jack cheese and strawberry balsamic. Definitely recommend as the combinations of flavors were excellent. Boars Head meats are used at Munchies, and the quality shows. For dessert I tried a medley of 3 homemade truffles(Snickers, a peanut butter, and a caramel truffle) and English toffee. All were very good. Seating is limited but I just missed the peak lunch crowd, so had no problems. Outdoor tables are available. Service was excellent by our server Erin. She even fixed drinks to go without having to ask!

All was fine until they took my table mid meal. Yes you read that correctly, they literally took our table. We started to eat our sandwiches(which were very good by the way) and they came up and said they needed the other half of our table. We had three people at two small tables when they came and pulled one table away and left the three of us squished at a table designed for two people. Thought maybe we were on candid camera, sadly we were not. But… With that said, in all fairness the food was good. Just the first time I’ve had a table removed from me while dining.

This is the best Little hidden Ice cream, sweet,& Hot Dog shoppe on Hilton Head island. My family and I stop by every year. It has become a family tradition.

WONDERFUL. Very busy lunch spot filled with locals. We had a great Panini which we shared… an Italian turkey melt. There was turkey, roasted red peppers artichokes and moz cheese all grilled to perfection. We shared as we wanted to eat dessert. My husband had a triple chocolate mousse pie and I had ice cream. Both were delicious. Place was clean and everyone was extremely friendly. Will definitely come back.

We had a nice lunch at Munchie’s; there were a few small things that could have been better such as having to ask for silverware, drink refills, etc. But it seemed to me as though they were trying to run the place with one waitress(they probably could have used at least 3). We were not in a hurry so it wasn’t a problem– I can see where if someone was on a tight schedule(IE: needed to be back to the office at a certain time) that the somewhat«casual» service might be irritating. The server did her very best and was polite– another lady that I believe was a manager was trying to help her. The manager was very polite and accommodating also. We experienced near hospital cleanliness unlike the experience of other reviewers. We found no problems even remotely like the prior reviewers reported so it would appear that the managers have corrected the situation. A lot of tasty and fresh things on the menu and the specials list was almost a menu unto itself. My father ordered the Nathan’s hot dog«with everything» and he said it was one of the best dogs he had in a long time. He is from the city of Chicago, home of the«Chicago Dog» and I feel that Dad’s approval carries more weight than the average schmoe. Although we did not order soup– it was nice to see soup on the menu. It appeared that munchies also have quiches and other breakfast items to serve earlier in the day? Munchies offers an impressive selection of ice cream flavors and we were given generous portions of ice cream(almost too much to eat after a hearty lunch). I felt the prices charged were about what we would expect for a comparable place in the Chicago«North Shore» suburbs(a similar upscale area). I am not sure how anyone can compare restaurant prices to buying the ingredients at a discount grocery and cooking/preparing it yourself? I can only conclude that the other reviewers do not eat out other than at chain restaurants very often(and as such their comments should be taken in context). Munchies also has what appear to be hand made/artisan candies and fudge that we did not try but looked delicious. For sure we will give them a try next visit.

Munchees is one of my favorite places to go for a great lunch. Lisa, the owner LOVES what she does and it shows up in every bite! I had the Meatball Hoagie. It was perfect.

My family and I went in there for lunch and didn’t order any food, but we did have ice cream. I can’t tell you how good their regular food is, but I can tell you about what you will experience there. First, there are rules for dining there, some written, some not. On the back of the menu, they set requirements for getting a table. You cannot hold any business meetings here and each table must order $ 10 per person in order to keep their table(which isn’t difficult here, see below). Unwritten rules are simple: unless you are older with no kids and are with only one other person(max) this place is not a comfortable place to eat. All of the tables are literally within inches of each other, are uncomfortable, and there is no privacy whatsoever(the noise level was almost at zero). I also had a roach, dying, right below my chair. Second, we didn’t order any actual food on principle. Why? To illustrate my point, I give you their standard hot dog. A plain Nathan’s hot dog(which is tasty) – without a single condiment on it, is $ 3.75. My initial reaction(in my mind) was, «Are you out of your f*%king mind!!!» You can literally drive down the street to Sam’s Club and get the exact same hot dog, with unlimited condiments, for $ 0.89. We got four single scoops of ice cream and it was over $ 20. I could have gone to the grocery store and bought a gallon of flavored ice cream with all of the ingredients for the world’s biggest ice cream sundae for less money. All in all, there is expensive and overpriced. This place is hugely overpriced. You could make all of their food at home or get it from Publix pre-made for literally a quarter(if not less) of the cost and the same quality. The margin on each dollar they charge you must literally be 80 cents. Unless you have so much money in your account that you couldn’t blow it in a single lifetime if you tried, do not go here. I have no idea how they stay in business with the prices they charge. There are restaurants in downtown DC that do not charge that much for a damn hot dog. Give me a break.

My family and I weren’t sure what to expect after reading the other reviews. The owner was especially friendly as well as the woman who served us. The ice cream was fantastic unlike the other shops we visited who claimed their ice cream was homemade. I was more than pleased and will be coming back!

My family and I have been getting ice cream here for the past few summers during our vacation on HHI and love it. Nice service and good ice cream. They are open for ice cream until 9.

We were visiting from out of town, family of 12 or so. As soon as we walked in we just felt the employees level of annoyance rise as soon as we asked for ice cream. They only allow you to try one flavor per person before you have to make a decision, and with a group of 5 children who are often indecisive, we found this very customer unfriendly! Overall they just seemed more irritated we were asking for helping rather than helpful at all. Also, they don’t allow you to make a credit card purchase unless it’s five dollars or more, which is refusing tender/up selling, which is illegal, so be forewarned.

Only one flavor of frozen yoghurt, and they market themselves as an ice cream and frozen yoghurt shop? They offer sandwiches and wraps, and desserts, with a very limited selection of all items, especially ice cream, and only one flavor of hard frozen yoghurt. OK for a quick lunch, but should be able to do much better elsewhere. Mostly caters to the local business trade.

If I could rate it no-stars, I would. This wanna-be sandwich and ice cream shop’s sub-par food is only eclipsed by the owner’s rude, poor customer service. Upon entering, I can’t decide if I am in a sandwich joint, ice cream shop, or a toy store. The food isn’t much better. 15-bean soup was very bland and without any hint of flavor or spice. The person at the counter originally wasn’t willing to let us sample the soup but later changed her mind — so they get a little credit for the free sample. The turkey, cranberry, and Brie panini could have been made better by a 10-year old. The cranberry sauce was straight out of a can(and came with«can lines» too) and was dolloped on the sandwich, not spread on. While called a panini, it was nothing more than a grilled sandwich not put through a panini press of any sort. We asked for it to be re-done properly, as described on the menu. This establishment wanted no part of it. The cook and owner lacks even the basics of customer service skills insisting on arguing with customers who don’t like her food rather than being customer-centric and making sure the customer is happy. We explained that we didn’t want globs of canned cranberry sauce(rather it spread), the sliced apple should have been grilled on(not added after the fact because we overheard them say that they forgot them); the staff, however, wanted no part of the mantra«Customer Is No. 1». They insisted on arguing with us, even going so far as calling the police because we refused to pay for the poor-excuse for a sandwich. We ended up paying and promptly left — never to return again. Same advice goes to you… PS — We also noticed the only 5-star rating of this restaurant is by the owner, herself. So much for letting the people speak!
