We had dinner Christmas Day here. We are familiar with this spot having been to other CH’s in other cities. Wonderfully decorated. Contemporary feel. Service was great, food was awesome. Yes it’s a little pricey but it is what it is. Save it for special occasions! Not sure why it only has three stars from pervious reviews. Unless it’s because of the price? We loved it.

Would give zero stars if possible. Most unprofessional experience, laughable really. Can’t run a kitchen, untrained waitstaff, inept management will result in disappointment every time.

Service was slow. Terrible. No Christmas specials. Potatoes thick and bland. No music. The view was the only nice part of this dining experience. Definitely would not go back.

Oysters Rockefeller are excellent. Our bottle of wine was warm, definitely not maintained at 56 degrees. Our prime rib was outstanding. Service was very poor. Restaurant seemed disorganized.

I have not been to the CH in years. I love the location, interior and, the food was always quite good. Christmas dinner however missed the anticipated, mark in many ways. Waiting 20 min to receive wait staff is very BAD. Being served an incorrectly prepared entrée, and told the chef said it is blackened, second strike. Having no time to eat the dessert you ordered in advance, because your driver is picking you up an hr ½ later… third.

BEWARE! Do not have a private event here! The property is beautiful and we thought it would be the perfect location for our rehearsal dinner. After emailing numerous times, someone finally called me and I made a meeting time to discuss having an event there that would cost upwards of $ 8,000. The manager that I was supposed to be meeting with left me sitting at the bar waiting for him for 45 minutes. When he finally acknowledged me, he barely spoke to me and was borderline rude as he «led» me upstairs to the awful looking event space. He did not ask me any questions or initiate any sort of follow up. Think twice before having a private event here! The service is awful, management is rude and unorganized.

Another disappointing visit to Chart House. Liked it much better as Charlies crab. Food is average. Service was very slooooow. Meager portions above average prices. Last time here.

My wife and I ate at the Hilton Head Chart House tonight and it was a terrible experience. We had a 7pm reservation and arrived ate 6:55pm for our reservation. The hostess said our table was not ready yet and if we went to the bar she would come get us when our table was ready. We waited for 30 minutes before I went to the hostess to check on our table. She asked me again about my reservation because she had not memory of us checking in at 6:55. When we finally got to our table our waiter was kind of a dud, service was slow and very inconsistent. I will never go back to this Chart House in Hilton Head, SC it SUCKS!!!

Did not enjoy my meal and the service was very slow despite it being empty. When I mentioned that my dinner didn’t taste right, they took it away and charged me full price.

Okay maybe a 4 star. But since we had to ask where our server was it got the 3 stars. Food is great. And the presentation is par excellance. So all in all I will be back…

Gorgeous spot right on the creek in the north of Hilton Head! The food was all delicious — I got the scallops, which didn’t look like much but I was barely able to finish it. The pomegranate mojito was amazing, too — quite sweet, but still refreshing. And the key lime pie was to die for! Sitting outside on the patio watching the sun set over a shrimp boat was truly delightful.

We were very impressed with Frank, our waiter. Service was prompt and professional. The variety of food was excellent as was the food we choose, the wine and the desserts. The dessert we all had was the Lava Cake, it took longer to serve and one of the four we ordered had less Lava than the others but it was still tasty.

Not bad… lava cake not as hot and moist as I hoped for. Parmesan crusted snapper was pretty good. Prime rib was a bit dry. but overall I’ll go back. Morton’s steakhouse legendary molten cake is still the best. this cake should be super warm & moist.

My family has been dining here every time we’ve stayed in Hilton Head, which is once a year on average for the past 9 years. True to other reviews, the service is really unpredictable, but the food made up for those times when service was slow. Our most recent visit was last night, and unfortunately, was less than stellar for both service AND food. The service was slow: our drink and appetizer orders were taken, and then a 30 minute wait until received. Then our waitress took the orders for our main course, and it took an hour until the main course came! We wanted the chocolate lava cake for dessert, but noted that on the menu it stated to allow at least 30 minutes wait for it, so we passed and ordered cheesecake and key lime pie, neither of which had much flavor and were more on the mushy side.(In the past, our server would tell us about the lava cake while taking our order for the main course, so that would’ve been a nice ‘reminder’ from our waitress, but she never even mentioned it). Additionally, she was very apologetic about the delay of bringing our order, but quite hurried, even though we ended up spending 2 ½ hours there by the end of our meal! It’s one thing to spend 2 ½ hours on a 7-course, Michelin-star meal, but that much time for bad service and an average meal is not worth it. Not sure we will dine here on our next visit. Oh, and as a side note, if you are seated indoors, men, wear pants, not shorts, and ladies, if you’re in a sundress, bring a heavy sweater or wrap; it’s freezing cold to the point you WISH you could be seated outdoors on the patio, and would gladly tolerate the humidity!

Great view, happy hour every evening and wonderful tapas. What is not great is the disgusting dirty out door carpet that is on the deck. It needs to be replaced and/or cleaned. It’s gross! Update — the manager took time to call me to explain that carpets were being cleaned and possibly replaced. I appreciate management that follows through with customer comments.

My husband and I ate here on 5÷8÷15. It was terrible. We made a reservation 2 months in advance for a table outside(if it wasn’t raining). It was a beautiful day, but when we got here the very snotty hostess was like, «I see you wanted a table outside. We don’t have any and it will be about an hour half to 2 hour wait for a table.» Umm… okay. So, we sat inside. While the server was nice, it took her a long time to get our drink order and another 10 minutes to actually bring the drinks. Finally we ordered. I got the scallops and my husband got the strip steak. The steak was grocery store quality. Not anywhere close to being a $ 37 worthy steak. We did get the lava cake for dessert. Waste of money. Applebees has a better lava cake. Seriously. Overall, a poor experience. We will never return.

We got to take some beautiful sunset shots after we ordered our cocktails. It is your typical seafood/steakhouse fare. We ordered she crab soups, shrimp cocktail, lobster shrimp summer rolls, sizzling mushrooms, filet mignon and prime rib. She crab soup should’ve been a little thicker and creamier. Shrimp cocktail was very big and good. Lobster shrimp summer roll… concept was great, but was poorly executed. The wrap itself was too soggy which caused the insides to fall out… but the sauce was yummy. The sizzling mushrooms were indeed sizzling!!! And our steaks were pretty good… mine came out a little too well but we weren’t sending any food back. Overall, solid food. Now why 3 stars? THEBATHROOMWASDISGUSTING. Ew!!! I had to keep my pants rolled up so it wouldn’t touch the floor because I’m pretty sure pee was all over the floor with globs of toilet paper. The hostess came in during my bathroom visit and tried to tidy up the counter but it was still horrendous in there. You would expect some attention to the restroom when you’re fine dining.

Happy hour from 4 – 8 — high top off the dock — terrific fun staff — great appetizers — time to wile away the last evening of this trip! Ohh u let us down — chipped glass — poured same drink into new glass — seriously and u charged me for 2 ??? Host buzzes by «ok?» lord forgive u really want to know — 3 of the tables had cpmplaints — got here at 4 — NOW they’re bringing water? Don’t offer if u can’t deliver and it is basically pre-season — oh yeah, btw — parade of newbie servers but our service — get rid of the nails — sloppy, inattentive, too bad — we’re great tippers but u just blew that recommendation

Come here with referral program and save $ 11(free appetizer). Fish is obviously the draw, and the prices are commensurate with what else is on the island… expensive(+$ 32/main), and average quality. I’ve been to several other Chart Houses elsewhere, and was disappointed by this location. Expect to spend $ 100 for food plus wine/tax/tips.
