The facility and refs were great and I would have given this business 5 stars, but unfortunately I can’t do that because the owner asked one of our 13-year-old boys if he wanted a pink skirt to go with the chest protection he asked for. Apparently 12-years-old is the cutoff for needing chest protection, but it was this kid’s first time playing paintball and he had no idea about any of that. Um, where to begin? There are so many things wrong with that situation! When I spoke up, rather than apologize or try to make things right, the owner defended his position and said he was just preparing the boy for the way he’d be treated on the paintball field. Say what? He also said that he’d been in business for 18 years and no one will care when they learn he said that to the boy. I beg to differ. We stayed(and payed several hundred dollars total) since we had a group of kids already in their gear for a birthday celebration, but we won’t be back. I find the comment this business owner made to a child in my care to be nasty, sexist, disrespectful, aggressive, and whole lot of other adjectives. I was quite frankly shocked by the whole situation. I highly recommend finding an alternate paintball field. One particular ref– a young guy with shaggy blonde hair– was very, very nice. He overheard the encounter with the owner and had the good sense to sincerely apologize for the situation. He was very kind and helpful to our kids throughout the afternoon. If for some reason you must go to this establishment, try to connect with the young blonde ref and steer clear of the owner.

Went on a sunny Saturday morning with a large group of about fifteen, mostly first timers. We pretty much had the entire place to ourselves. Service was top notch; we had a referee by the name of JR who was very helpful and fun to chat with, very accommodating. He was strict with the rules, which was fair and kept people safe. Our entire group rented equipment(mask, marker, air) and 500 balls each, for $ 35. This lasted us about 3 hours of playing time. I had a faulty marker(paintgun) but they noticed and quickly replaced it. Air refills were free. We played on the four available fields(there was fifth under construction): there was a speed ball field, a building/catwalk field, a wide open woods field, and an attack-defense scenario field. They were all fun and could fit all of us at one time. There was lots of parking outside. Their building had a rest stop with a restaurant(though I didn’t eat anything) and a store for the more dedicated. One porta potty outside, so use the bathroom beforehand. Fun place. We’ll probably try to return once it gets warmer.

You haven’t lived until you’ve been shot at close range by yellow food coloring. Predator Paintball, located off 86 in Hillsborough, is quite the experience. They have 5 paintball fields for use: two fields for simple assault(one with those blow-up things), an urban assault field(with a cool wall thing in the middle and hollowed out cars on the sides), and two forest fields(one with a fort, the other just straight-up forest). Prices are relatively cheap: Gun rental + 200 paintballs is $ 25(there is a field fee as well which isn’t that bad). Gun rental + 500 paintballs is $ 35, and will probably get you through a 3 hour session(though you may have to go buy more paintballs as we did, but those are cheap as well). Get a large group together, and you’ll have 3 epic hours of gun-shooting exercise. All in all, an excellent time!
