Willow Creek Transit Center

Willow Creek Transit Center is a wonderful station. Indeed, only one light rail line goes here, but there are big stone seats all over the place as local flavor, in addition to their load of covered seating. Still, visitors should exit from those seats about three minutes or more prior to boarding the train. These structures seem to be at least a dozen in number. You likely won’t have to standup here. Do take note that the rain will likely make these chairs wet during the majority of the year.
I was amazed at that. Although, this station is mostly normal, this is a special-​edition MAX Station with all those chairs in consideration. Lots of buses go here. This also is not that far from Beaverton, making rides to downtown quick.

The train always seems to get here pretty close after we do, even though we don’t plan it.
We haven’t had much issue with strange people as other reviews have eluded to, or perhaps I have a lower standard?
I generally feel safe at night when walking to my car from the station. It’s lit well, there is plenty of parking, and I’ve never seen any cars that have been broken into, or leftover broken glass.
Also, the parking lot for the PCC campus and work center, I think the lot is bigger than the three combined.

I think the surrounding neighborhoods and PCC Willow Creek campus give this MAX station some more cachet and style than most of the other stations. TriMet keeps it very clean. There is also some good visual interest as well with the large cement furniture pieces that serve as some pretty comfortable seating. There a wide variety of people who use the station, which is a great thing. This is definitely an AOK place to launch a trip to work.

Hello Magic 8-​Ball what kind of crowd will I have to encounter next time I’m here?
I can’t tell of the time and day but it has it’s fair share of different crowds. Sometime after work, it’s almost full of juggalos. At times, it’s all normal people in their Pac NW attire.
If it’s a game day, you’ll notice people decked in either green, red or yellow.
This is not the place for people watching by any means but you’ll feel safe here while you wait for your next bus ride or walk to your car. Another plus for their park and ride.

Being from Hong Kong I would say the transit system here is great. The bus drivers don’t try to kill you with crazy driving tactics. The buses and MAX are almost always on time. There’s no bums at this location or the smell of urine like some of the other stations.

I’m standing on the platform, waiting for my blue MAX to Gresham. There’s a big guy standing about five feet away from me and he’s approached by a toothless tweaker begging for change.
«I don’t have anything for you, man. Take off,» says the big guy.
«I NEED HELP!» hollers the tweaker, hands clenched into fists at his sides. He can barely stand up, but that’s apparently not going to stop him from spoiling for a fight.
«I don’t have any help for you. Take off, dude. Just walk away,» says the big guy.
The tweaker finally realizes the big guy could easily rend him limb from limb and staggers away, flipping everybody off and cussing up a storm.
That’s what it’s like at this Transit Center. Weird mix of characters. Lots of kids going to and from school, but also an inexplicably large amount of f**ked up methheads wandering around. I wonder what draws them to this stop? Don’t care. I just wish they had some security here.
The buses never seem to line up with the arrival of the trains at this place. I also had to witness a rude jerk of a bus driver give a hard time to a girl in a wheelchair. There must be some bad ju-​ju hanging around the area.
There isn’t much rain cover, unless you want to crowd under an awning with the kids and the tweakers. Wear a hood if you frequent this stop… and a kevlar vest couldn’t hurt either.
