The Colonnade

I called today to try and set up an appointment to come and view the property, but was advised, VERY rudely, that they don’t show after 4:00pm. I work until 4:30 and was trying to set something up around 4:45, but the person on the phone was so incredible condescending and dismissive and THEN she hung up the phone on me. Great first impression. I guess I’ll go somewhere else to spend my money.

Living in My Colonnade have been a excellent experience, so far we can’t complain of anything and we really recommend this Town-​home complex. The personalized assistance was great, even more if we consider I came as part of an international transfer and it was hard to get all the requisites for renting.

All apartments are nice when you are signing on the dotted line and moving in. The key is what happens after…
Yes we had a dog and who has NEVER used the bathroom in the house or chewed on anything other than her food. And we always wiped its feet when it came in just as we would our own… BUT if you have a pet deposit, they will say dirty carpet from normal wear is pet damage and take your pet deposit.
They went up 15% on the rent in one year. They blame ‘the market’…but they are deciding what rent to charge. It is not out of their hands as they would like you to believe.
We had a problem with our door that was noted on day 1… a year later when we moved out, it still was not fixed.
Interior of apartments are old and run-down…especially for what you pay. The office is ‘luxury’, the apartments are not.
They let certain people have grills… others like us they tell ‘no one can have a grill’.

My husband and I moved from SE Portland and we honestly could not be happier. The complex is beautiful and so quiet, sometimes I find myself whispering at night! Love the trail area behind us and the access to so many shops– we walked to the movie theater the other night. The townhouse doesn’t have the newest appliances but everything works well and I love the size of our bedroom. The staff is super nice and helpful. If you want a townhouse in this area and this price range I highly recommend it!

I currently live in a one bedroom and one bath townhouse. I can’t complain. The staff is nice. Maintenance is quick to repair any issues. I particularly love having a garage and not having to deal with other tenants. The neighborhood is quiet. I am giving the Colonnade 2 stars due to the fact management has raised my rent $ 185 dollars. I was paying $ 1074/​mos and now I have to pay &1254/​mos for a 1 bedroom/​1 bath! It is utterly insane. I am very responsible and I always pay on time. I asked the staff if there was any room for a price negotiation since I’ve lived here for 2 years and they said they could not do anything because its corporate. Corporate does not have any considerations for good paying law abiding tenants!!!

I can not say enough positive things about this community. Our townhouse is spacious and overlooks a beautiful green belt with a creek and wildlife, my large patio is perfect for relaxing after a crazy day at work. We moved from a house and my husband was nervous about moving into a complex but those fears have been unwarranted because it’s incredible quite, sometimes I forget we share walls. The pool and workout room are clean and maintained well. We’ve been here for a month now and had to put in a couple minor repair tickets, Not only are they happy to help the help comes fast! Nicole in the office is beyond nice & always has a smile on her face, we love her! This place really feels like home for us, our kids & our pug. Thank you so much Colonnade! –The Sarrazins

I have recently moved from out of state and rented a one bedroom, sight unseen. It was a very pleasant surprise when I arrive. The unit is very nice, clean, and well kept. I did have an issue with my washer and dryer when I first moved, but the staff was quick in responsing and it was fixed the next day. I have not had problems with hearing the neighbors or any disruptions. There is also a very nice walking trail just behind the complex to walk my dog. I love it here and look forward to the rest of my time staying here.

Lived here almost 3 years and loved it. The people who work there where friendly and helpful. Awesome experience definitely recommend this place. Moved only because we bought our own place. Thanks for everything Ron and Natalie

Lived here for 3 years and no major complaints. Nicole and the staff have always been very nice and pretty reasonable with any maintenance issues. Rent has risen every year but no other complaints.

I went with my husband to look at an apartment here. The staff was rude, short, not helpful, and rushed us out. It must have been lunch hour or something. We loved the apartment layouts but won’t be renting from people that treated us like WE were bothering THEM.

We have lived here for a year now. We moved here sight unseen and haven’t regretted it even once. I love being close to everything (shopping, doctors, public transit, walking trail, etc). The townhouses are spacious and well maintained. The common grounds are clean and well kept. I have been impressed by the management from day one and still haven’t had any issues dealing with them. Any problems in the house are immediately taken care of. I wish there were more guest parking spots but that’s a minor issue.

I lived in a one-​bedroom apartment for a year and, considering my history of apartment living and relocating, this was one of the worst experiences I have had. In 12 months, these are the issues I experienced:
1. the garage door broke 3 times; once while I was on vacation thus the door was open for DAYS at a time. I had my motorcycle and other personal belonging in the garage and those were left to be stolen by any passersby
2. the front office literally did not believe me when I said my garage door was malfunctioning. I had to get into an argument with one of the ladies before she was willing to do anything about it. Unbelievable.
3. A broken pipe spilled HUMAN SEWAGE into my garage and onto my personal belongings. The smell was absolutely terrible.
4. The floor on the bathroom was not finished (meaning the fake wood did not have any kind of sealant on it so any human hair, make up, dust, etc settled into the creases of the floor).
5. paperthin… and i mean PAPERTHIN walls. I could hear my neighbor sneeze, cough, and the commericals he was watching on TV.
6. The towel rack in the bathroom fell from the wall, puling out pieces of drywall, when I placed a hand towel on it. A HAND TOWEL.
In conclusion, while the grounds are kept well and the cleaning/​maintance staff are phenominal, there is absolutely zero preventative work done. They wait until things break before fixing them. The construction is shoddy and the front office couldn’t possibly care less.
I have lived in different apartments in different states and this was easily the worst renting experience I’ve ever had.

I recently relocated to Oregon after looking at several apartments/​townhomes & dealing with not so nice apt managers. I happen to Unilocal townhomes & colonnade popped up. I called & spoke to Nicole she was so nice, helpful & welcoming she made the transaction smooth. We saw newer apt homes but this just felt like home.
After moving in I told Nicole about a couple things that needed attention, they were fixed within 24 hours.
Nice walking trail behind the townhomes.
Dog friendly.
Kid friendly.

First I must say that the staff is stellar. From move in to move out and every need inbetween, Anna and Nicolle were absolutely helpful, friendly and above all, professionals. The few urgent maintenance needs that we had were handled immediately (overflow in the roof gutters… but hey, we have lots of trees and rain so it happens). We had a two bedroom plus bonus room and it offered lots of space for storage in that extra room. No walk-​in closets but the closets are huge so I didn’t miss that. In all fairness I must say that they could improve by having more parking spaces for visitors. I did notice the same cars parked in those spaces and reported them to the office and that fixed that! We had a unit that was next to Rock Creek wildlife and trail area. It was so beautiful out the living room and upper back bedroom windows to watch the blue heron fly by! We lived here 15 months after selling our home, while we looked for a new one to down size too. I would have to give this a 5 star because for townhouse or apartment living in this price range… trust me, this is a good as it gets.

My wife and I have lived here for about 8 months or so and there have been a few exchanges with respect to liability which are disconcerting.
1. The motorized garage door opener has a long string with a hard plastic, ridged cap at the end of it. The other day when I pressed the garage door opener button from inside my car, the garage door opened and the plastic ridge got stuck in the space between my roof and trunk (Honda CRV) and the garage door kept going up… therefore the metal on my car was bent from this force. They sent the claim to their lawyers who stated we lied and that we closed the trunk on the plastic cap… which makes no sense as how would the metal of the car then get bent?
2. We received a package slip from USPS and went to pick up the package and it wasn’t in the office. They looked for it but then came back and said it wasn’t their fault as the liability is on us. They can accept the packages and put them in their office but they aren’t responsible for them once in their office. Turns out the package was mistakenly sent to the post office.
The main issue with this company is liability. They don’t take responsibility for anything. We teach our kids at a young age to accept responsibility and apologize when you’ve made a mistake. It is easier for this company and the property manager to accuse people of lying to save $ 100 than to do the right thing.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. You will regret living here if you have to deal with the manager and management company. They might as well just kick your car and leave a dent in it and tell you that it must have been the wind because you are lying.

I lived here for two years from 2009 to 2011. I lived in a one bedroom town home that faced the swimming pool. The town house was an end unit which meant it had extra windows that provided more light. The townhouse was very nice and definitely an upgrade from the studio I had moved from in NW Portland.
The apartment complex is very close to anything you need. Restaurants, grocery stores, Target, Nordstrom Rack, Trader Joe’s…I could keep listing places that are within five minutes driving. There is also a couple of nice parks to walk around in and Hondo Dog Park within driving distance.
The town house layout was kind of odd meaning that it only had one bathroom upstairs which got to be a pain to walk up. Also the washer and dryer were upstairs. My main complaint was that there was only one closet in the entire place and you couldn’t even fit a vacuum cleaner in it because it had a shelf on the bottom of the closet.
The garage was very nice and large. This places bills itself as a luxury apartment complex. Go into rent this place knowing that is not true. There are plenty of sketchy loud people wherever you go. Especially lots of screaming kids at the pool and weird people in the exercise room. About 15 spots for guest parking and they are always full of residents cars that never move. Abandoned cars take up the extra parking spaces for guests as well. Never ever saw my neighbors though.
The place used to be very nice when I first moved in… meaning mostly adults at the pool and no one in the exercise room but that slowly changed.
I would recommend this place to live at though as I had a good two years there. I only moved because my job got transferred to Vancouver, WA and it was getting too far to drive from Hillsboro to Vancouver 5 days a week.

I lived there for 2.5 years (may 2006 thru nov 2008) and they thanked me by ruining my credit. They claimed I damaged the carpet in my unit and while I was disputing that claim they sent my account to collections. That has been a thorn in my side ever since and will be for the next 4 years. What a farce.
