The Chief Kno-Tah sculpture brings forth a curiosity that is even greater than similar kinds of carvings at rural convenience stores. Only this is even more impressive since it’s in a suburb close to the large city of Portland. It does not have observability from a sitting position, but the sculpture is incredibly well done. This can be found in the trees of Shute Park, perhaps hidden at first and then more prominent later on. I went here on my excursion to Hillsboro. There was a nice garden surrounding the statue, and the park already stands out. Carvings show lots of feathers and a tall face, which looks charming. A good five minutes might be advisable to observe the chief. Chief Kno-Tah is a good reason for a short visit to Shute Park.

He has a name? When the kids were young we would drive by and I’d say, «Did you see the Indian Chief I the woods?» Never knew he had a name!

I have lived next door to this park for the past 2 years and yesterday was the first time that i walked the park. I was pleasantly surprised how nice this park is and how much my dogs would love this park.
