This little place is in the County Public Service Building. There is no place for civilians to sit, but on a nice day you can sit at tables out back or take it to courthouse square and sit outside. Mostly it’s designed for people to take food back to their county employee cubicles. Like me. They serve espresso, breakfast and hot or cold lunch sandwiches, soup, salads, yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit cups, and baked goodies. They occasionally have specials like terriyaki chicken or a daily panini special. If a panini has chutney get it, it’s good. Also the tomato soup with grilled cheese or a tuna melt is pretty satisfying on a cold day. I’ve been consuming food from them once or twice a week for about 6 years. It’s convenient. My favorite lunch is the turkey bacon avocado sandwich on wheat bread. The bread is good, from Grand Central Bakery or something like it, not cheapo smooshy bread. A sandwich with chips runs about $ 7 which is maybe a little high but the convenience part is worth it I think.(at least that is how I rationalize it). I don’t eat the chips, I usually give them away or if I remember I will pass them back to the cashier. The counter staff are usually friendly. They have had some turnover after a couple not so great counter people but it seems to be back on track. Dan, the manager(owner?) is great. If you get stuck with jury duty this isn’t a bad option, it’s right across from the court house. Just dont’ generate a line when I want to get a quick lunch, ok? I gotta get my sandwich quick and drag it back to my cube.
