The most recent negative reviews of the business were due to personal issue between the reviewer and myself. I always take care of my patrons. Just so you know, she was hostile and actually threw a straw at me. Actual wait time for a drink was 2 – 3 minutes and not two hours.

Donna C is a rude benny pay no attention to her. Christine does an excellent job! This is the best bar in Highlands. Im a karaōke regular on Wednesdays and Sundays. I definitely recommend this bar

I was warned about this place by locals but had an opened mind. We in for the advertised $ 5 burger paid $ 14 for it. Also got ripped off bc the beer that was poured was flat. Another time I didn’t specially ask for the $ 1.50 pour so they gave me the $ 8one. I will never go back again. Owner is a crook.

Been here a few times while visiting family/friends. Pretty cool bar with tons of craft beer to choose from. They have karaōke nights Sunday(and Wednesday I think). I had their wings and chicken fingers and those were pretty good. But drinks aren’t very strong and it’s expensive compared to other places. My drink just tasted like soda, hold the whiskey. But whatever. It’s a cool spot and I’d go again when we are back in town.

This place needs to get their act together. 40 beers on tap, and the bartenders don’t know a damn difference between a porter and a IPA . The one weekday it is a little busy, Saint Patricks a Day, and the bartenders and owner can’t handle it. Pathetic.

Great beer selection but maybe a $ 1 a glass too expensive being that you’re in the Atlantic Highlands. We sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly enough but didn’t have much to say about the beers. The place is nicely done for an Irish style pub. When we were there(around 7 on a Saturday) there wasn’t much of a crowd but I could see it livening up later in the night once the band comes on. Onto the food– definitely a disappointment. First I ordered potato soup. It came out lukewarm and with a film on top as if it had been sitting. I was hungry and rarely send food back so I stirred it and ate it anyways. I ordered a grilled cheese too and that came out lukewarm as well and the cheese was starting to harden up again as if that had been sitting out too. The amount of cheese was so skimpy it was laughable. Thick bread and what looked like one thin piece of cheese in between. Husband ordered fish and chips and had the same experience. Food was lukewarm. This leaves me to believe our food had been sitting in the back for at least a few minutes before the bartender brought it to us. His fish portion was tiny. It was one little fried piece of fish and a skimpy amount of fries. So– I am somewhere between a 2 and a 3 with this place. Food is a 1 or 2 but the place itself is a 3 and the beer menu is a plus. I’m going with 2 because the food was just so subpar. To call yourself a pub you have to at least have average to good food that comes out hot and fresh.

Stumble upon Claddagh while looking for a bar to eat while waiting for the ferry. I’m a craft beer lover and was completely elated to see the amazing selection of beer here! I will definitely come back for the beer… that being said. I ordered a sandwich that was bartender made… odd, and it was made and thrown on a plate like a little kid did it. Right after I got my food the bartender opened the door which I was sitting right next to and proceeded to smoke so the cigarette smoke and freezing air came right in to not only make me and my food cold but incredibly uncomfortable. She also spent so much time smoking I spend a good amount of time without a beer. My suggestion… Hire a cook and talk to your employees about professionalism.

I have never been flat out ignored as I was at this bar. After sitting at a table for nearly 20 minutes, UNATTENDED, I approached the bar(this was just now at approx. 3PM, so it was empty). At first, I thought the bartender would come back to me, as he went to speak with the manager. But I made eye contact with both, and NOTHING. Then a group of people walk in, sit right next to where I stood waiting for him to see my raised hand and he walks right over and takes their order first. Disgusted. One star because I have to.

Amazing fresh food & great beer selection! I often go with my friends before catching the ferry or on Thursday for their $ 1 beer nights.

Don’t listen to what anyone says this bar has the best beer selection around. For all those who miss the tap house this is the place to go! Great beers good people a not miss on the shore!

This place is transforming. Any local spot that tries hard to improve has my vote. They now have a huge selection of craft beer. I have yet to try the food so can’t speak to that, but the owner seems eager to please. Like any place the atmosphere could change at night, but worth a revisit for those that have written it off.

Awesome local bar, friendly staff and great service. Live music on Saturday nights, karaōke on Sundays and Wednesdays and ton of craft beers on tap. If you are in highlands and don’t check this place out you’re losing out.

Very excited to see a wide variety of beer choices. We tried a couple flights of beer so we could taste as much as we could. Great way to taste multiple beers. We have to come back to try more. The staff were very friendly. We stopped here before dinner and will have to come back to hear the great bands they bring in. Planning for the next time… can’t wait!

This place is the best! Great selection of craft brews, delicious burgers, fun staff and I’ve seen some of the best local bands here. Psycho Daisy, Moroccan Sheepherders, Matt O’Ree, Kathouse, Hair Metal Time Machine and so many more… Karaōke and Triva night are a good night too. See you there soon cheers!

Don’t eat here. Tried the Shepard pie. It was nasty and inedible. Not sure why they serve food. The place is basically a cheap bear bar. They serve lots of beer but stick with miller or bud or you will get stale beer.

The owner is trying very hard to change the atmosphere. He has brought in a great selection of beers, but the same crowd still shows up at night. It’s a locals crowd, and late at night can be a bit rough. Not a spot for bennies, this is a friendly warning. Would really like to see a better food menu as this is walking distance to my house.

This place smells bad. They get a star for beer selection but that’s about it. The food is frozen and not special in the slightest. You’ll come hungry, see the food and not be hungry anymore. You’ll be hungry again when you leave. Oh, did I mention that it smells bad?

I want to rate higher, but I can’t. They have a great selection of beers, but the beers are usually flat. Fix your CO2! Every beer should be served correctly. The bartenders are slow and can’t keep up with the demand. Also — never go on a Friday! They have a DJ there that thinks the place is a club. The DJ is good, but it doesn’t match with the atmosphere you’d want to get in an Irish Pub! Plus– he blocks the dart boards.

Out of all of the bars that have reopened in Highlands since Sandy, this is the only place that I can venture in to and have a good time, every time. Whether its a weekend night with an upbeat band, or a chill week day after work, I can count on this place to provide a fun and easygoing environment. The people are extremely down to earth too, from the locals to the bartenders, I always feel welcome at the Claddagh! Can’t wait to try out all the new craft beers that are going to be on tap. Two thumbs up :)
