Really nice service. Knowledgable staff. Cool atmosphere with super local art. Only had coffee but it was probably the best pumpkin latte I’ve ever had! Check this place out before your day of hiking!

I went twice this weekend, each time with a different bad experience. The staff was rude, slow and forgetful. Honestly, the coffee isn’t even that good. It only appears so because there are so few other options.

Got the iced mocha and it was excellent. Nice atmosphere and free wi-fi! :) Seems like a nice place to hangout and talk or to do some work.

Even has something for the kids. 20° below hot chocolate better than Serendipity in New York City. Good coffee. Good selection of pastries and breakfast sandwiches. Nice atmosphere. Free Wi-Fi.

Quaint little coffee shop. Hung out here twice and enjoyed both experiences. Great menu selection and love the local artwork.

Use caution when drinking coffee or latte is from bucks. I literally took half a sip and had blisters on the inside of my mouth, tongue and lips, it was terrible. I waited about 20 minutes and try to drink it again which was still impossible, so I went to a different restaurant and ask for some ice to put on it so I can finally finish my coffee. I don’t know what temperature your supposed to cook coffee too but this was definitely way hotter than anything I’ve gotten from anywhere else before. The coffee itself was okay once it cooled down but it had been watered down by the ice that I had to put in it to make it drinkable.

This is a great little place to get a cup of coffee or a hot apple cider. I have been here several times over the years and I always get good service.

Love Buck’s and never miss grabbing a coffee when strolling Highlands. Cute little place to kick back with the local paper and put your feet up for a second. Free wifi and tasty snacks if needed, though Col Mustards across the street usually hits the spot for the snacks.

This place has a great atmosphere. Plenty of comfortable seating. Warm friendly people… both in front of & behind the counter. There is a great variety of coffee and alternative beverages. They even have a wide assortment of foods. A must-visit. Enjoy.

The coffee was mediocre(medium roast tasted like a burnt Starbucks). The cinnamon bun had dried out by 9:00AM. I’m guessing it was baked much earlier off site and sent in to sit in the case. $ 10.00 minimum order to avoid service fee. If you can’t afford to take debit cards, don’t take them. Make yourself a cash-only business.

Must be good — the line was so long we never could get in and this was 10AM on a Saturday Morning!

I came to Buck’s coffee while in town for a wedding weekend. It’s convenient location to the old Edwards inn convinced us to make a stop for a much needed coffee wake up call and hopefully some breakfast. I do not suggest the breakfast portion of our experience. All of the items are pre made and are heated up upon request. The majority of the items on the food menu were not available and we arrived early in the morning. I asked for my breakfast sandwich(after changing my option three times since nothing was available) without cheese. They obviously made it with gooey cheese dripping off of it. They did remake it for me but the finished product looked and tasted like mcdonalds. The coffee selection was fine and I can’t complain about the environment — but if you are looking for breakfast go to the grocery store please!

Warm, welcoming staff? Yes. Good breakfast & lunch food? Yes. Delicious hot drinks? Yes. Cozy interior? Yes. Free wifi? Yes. This is all that a small town coffee shop(or heck, a big-time coffee shop) should be.

Great coffee, lattes, smoothies, and other drinks? Yeah, we got that. $ 2,500(beautiful) pieces of art? Yeah, we got that too! Buck’s Coffee Café seems to have something for everyone — did a quick stop for a caffeine boost while walking around the shops in the Highlands. It’s not Starbucks(which isn’t a bad thing), so the service is a bit on the slower side, but worth the wait. They had an extensive selection of food items, but having just grazed down the street — I didn’t try any of the eats. Definitely worth a stop when in Highlands, NC!

Thank goodness for a quality cup of joe! We were traveling with family for the holidays and went into Highlands to shop around on Black Friday. It was a very busy day for all the local shops and I was more than happy to take a pit stop for a little something to warm us up. I picked up a mocha which was priced at right below $ 4 for a large cup. There was an $ 8 minimum for credit card purchases which I thought was a bit high. I picked up a couple of pastries as well… a cinnamon roll which smelled and looked delicious though the boyfriend actually consumed it and a apple cinnamon stuffed muffin which was a bit dry but the top and the stuffing were delicious. Even though the line was all the way out the door the staff kept up with the orders and the line moved quickly. I would definitely visit this café again if we were in the area.

During our recent trip to Scaly Mountain, we were pleasantly surprised to find Buck’s Coffee in nearby downtown Highlands. Serving up a tasty cup of joe, this cute little coffee shop was a godsend, offering us free wifi, friendly service, and the best tasting roasted red pepper soup I’ve ever had. Additional pros: Great local vibe. Open early on Sunday(when the whole town is closed due to church). Bummer it has a $ 5 credit card minimum, but that was no biggie — I was just glad we didn’t have to resort to McDonalds for wifi and coffee.

In a town without chain stores, Bucks reminds you why you don’t mind. Good coffee, decent pastry selection, and comfortable places to sit. Paninis are grilled to order and certainly ample. Open until 7, which is welcome in Highlands.
