I love the ladies here! They have an at ease, relaxing atmosphere. I feel like family, not just a client. I have had cuts, colors, highlights, moisturizing treatments, hair styles and massage services, and the effort given to take care of me has always been above and beyond. From the front desk to the entire crew– keep up the awesome job!!! Thank you!!!

I love the atmosphere at Phaze 1! I feel that under the new management this past year things are really looking up for it. Wide variety of services from pretty much everything hair to nails to spa services. I can’t wait to see what the future holds

Run as fast u can away from this place! I thought I would try it as I was casting about for a new salon… big mistake! I went in blonde with a short pixie sort of cut and walked out brunette with this very strange semi-1960s style cut that made me look like the mom in the Brady Bunch! Yikes! To start, I said let’s refresh the color and just trim a little on the cut… I really don’t know how much more clearly I could have communicated what I wanted. When I complained, they said they only wanted to make me look more«modern!» How insulting! I will never darken their doorway again and would recommend that you don’t either!

I, too, wanted to like this place. It’s not far from me and they had just begun advertising that Armando Vasquez moved here(a great stylist who used to have his own place in Lansing) AND that they were open Sundays! I had a wedding upcoming and decided to see if I could get in the Sunday before the wedding. I called on a Thursday to see if I could get in that Sunday, July 14th. The receptionist confirmed me for a 2p appointment with Adena(sp?) for a facial. I show up at 1:45p and the place is deserted. I wait around, thinking maybe it’s only the aesthetician and she’s at lunch, but no one ever comes. I try calling the number — no answer — and left a message requesting a call back on Monday with an explanation as to what happened. While I did get a call back on Monday confirming they got my message, the salon may NO attempt to explain what happened or apologize. Of course, calling another spa on a Tuesday, trying to get an appointment before the weekend was impossible, so I’m just out of luck. I should have listened to the other reviews here that say the salon was unprofessionally run, or my friend who was treated rudely by the staff. I’m surprised Armando would associate with this low level of establishment. SAVEYOURSELFTHEHASSLE. Don’t even bother.

no, just say no to this place. angelica was the bright spot(she did my daughter’s highlights AND had a personality!) everyone else was just BLAH to the nth power. the woman who did my hair complained about the«legendary gerardo», who is a stylist who came in very late, in jeans and a sweatshirt no less. very unprofessional — both the *alleged* «stylist’s» complaining, and gerardo’s appearance. i wish i would have asked for the stylist’s name — she was incredibly angry, short sandy blondish hair, a little on the heavy side. you’ll know who she is if you venture here — she’s very angry. my daughter made a comment about how she didn’t even want to go to her graduation(college) and the«stylist» proceeded to kind of rip into her about«how hard did you work for this?» she also said that if she had a daughter she would kill her!(i don’t know if she was being funny, she was implying that they would butt heads all the time, but she was just so angry!) anyway, this place is a dump. and lame. never going back. ever.

I want to like Phaze 1. It’s by my house with reasonable prices. Today’s visit was for a Groupon Facial. Upon arrival I waited 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged that I was there. Then I was greeted with a «friendly», «Why are you here?» After explaining I had an appointment for a facial she looked at me confusedly. Fast forward to the actual facial. The esthetician never introduced herself to me. Then she proceeded to humph her way through the facial. I didn’t understand what she was so distraught over? My blackheads? Doing her job? At the end of the facial I go to the counter to check out and there is a hair stylist and the front desk person in a huge fight about when she wants to be scheduled. The stylist was bending over looking at the scheduling book giving me a full view down her shirt. Urgh. Pull it up lady. No one wants to see that. I kid you not(!!), I stood for SIX minutes waiting for them to be done arguing so that I could get my Groupon scanned and leave. I tried to interject several times that I just wanted to go — to no avail. I was one second away from just leaving when the arguing ended. Never again Phaze 1.
