I’ve never had trouble getting something to drive, even on short notice(like, 15 minutes), which is nice, since the number of vehicles they keep here is very, very limited. The people are all really friendly, and are never pushy about buying up insurance or specific gas options. I really appreciate that, as I tend to rent cars for business and personal use, so I can say what options I need or don’t need(depending on the card I’m using and my corporate policy) without hearing stories of the guy who didn’t pay $ 12 for the damage waiver and had to eat the cost of a brand new car. Really, the only downside is maintenance. The last car I rented was a 2015 Jetta with over 15,000 miles. In the lot, it was throwing TPMS warnings. I figured surely, they had checked the car out beforehand, and it just needed to be driven a couple of miles to reset. No such luck. After checking it myself, it looks like one of the sensors was probably stuck, because the pressure was fine. Meanwhile, the transmission was shifting like a rental car that had been beaten hard for the past 15,000 miles. Nothing worthy of asking for another car, but just the week before, I had been given a 2016 Malibu with under 2,000 miles.(Truth be told, though, that Jetta was infinitely more comfortable and fun to drive.) That said, I’m still a happy customer. The people and pricing make it worth getting the occasional beater.
