Food and drinks prices are high, and they taste(at best) average. I moved to HV recently and was SO disappointed when I went there. Not only for the above reasons, but because I started to wonder if all HV folks are as snotty as those who go to this restaurant. Fortunately, they’re not. Verf’s is much better, an all accounts.

Went there last weekend and it was a great experience. Our server name was Eddy and he gave some excellent recommendations on the menu. A great atmosphere with wonderful food.

Went for our anniversary, Rib eye was amazing. Wife had beef and crab that too was very well done. Great steak house so if you want to treat yourself give this place a try. You won’t regret it.

Don’t advertise wagyu beef when it’s not truly wagyu. Our steaks had absolutely no marbling whatsoever which is very standard for wagyu. We felt sort of ripped off. The wagyu New York strip tasted like an unseasoned, charred choice grade strip. We both ordered medium rare and our steaks came out well done the first time. We sent them back. Manager never came by to apologize for the steaks. The she-crab soup was excellent. I also liked the potatoes that came as a side with the steak. The crab fingers weren’t anything special. We enjoyed sitting on the patio– very relaxing atmosphere. The inside of the restaurant smelled like moth balls. The music on the patio sucked and they wouldn’t change it. I don’t want to listen to Led Zeppelin when I’m enjoying a $ 250 dinner.

Recommended by our banker since our arrival to the Dallas area, Bistecca has become one of our favorite restaurants that we patronize. Most recently, we went there for mothers day and the food was outstanding as usual

We have been going to Bistecca(formerly The Grotto) for close to 20 years. Morris is an excellent chef and great community partner. Stacey, restaurant manager, threw a fabulous bridal shower for my daughter – no detail was too small. The private dining room was elegantly decorated in a Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme – complete with a cardboard cut of Audrey Hepburn. All of the guests and bridesmaids had a fabulous time and the food was great!

Had a birthday party at Bistecca last weekend. The food from the set menu was excellent! The wait staff was attentive and accommodating as people arrived. The presentation was wonderful! The appetizers were delicious. The staff carefully and unobtrusively took each person’s order for an entre without disrupting the party atmosphere. I spoke to ppl who had the steak and the salmon; everyone agreed that the food was excellent. Dessert was enjoyable. The price was reasonable. If there were an option for a 100 star rating, this place would deserve it. I would recommend Bistecca for any gathering(formal or casual) as I believe they have the ability and skills to make it happen. If you haven’t been there, you are truly missing out on a wonderful experience.

OMGosh! We are new to the area and were told of this place by a co worker as a place to go for our 25th Anniversary. Boy, were we not disappointed. The service was awesome and the food was soooooo good. The chef even sent out a small cup of their she crab soup as a sample and it was to die for. We will definitely be back and very soon.

I have been going to Bistecca for the last 20 years. Bistecca was formerly named The Grotto. The owner and chef Morris Salerno is always there. Chef Salerno is an award winning chef. My favorite salad is the Caesar. The appetizers are really awesome, you have to try the shrimp grotto, steak salerno, or the scallops. The steak salerno has a an extremely flavorful sauce. I usually get a steak, typically the tenderloin. If you a fish lover, I recommend the red snapper or sea bass. The pork T-bone is great and so is the Osso buco. The desserts are really awesome, you have to try the Chocolate gondola or the pecan twill. The cheesecake is also very good. Chef Morris will almost always come by the table and ask how you enjoyed your meal. Overall a very solid restaurant.

Place was awesome. We took are family, 2 boys and I was impressed for fine dining they treated my kids like gold. They even asked them to help make our dessert. Bo was our server and was excellent. Cool environment from start finish. It’s a mom and pop establishment which I love.

Bistecca is a hidden gem in Highland Village. Chef Salerno out does himself every time we visit. This is my favorite restaurant in DFW. Their crab soup is to die for! You cannot go wrong with anything you order here. The service is friendly, not overbearing, and Chef Salerno frequently comes out of the kitchen to check on his customers which is a wonderful touch. And don’t forget to order a soufflé ahead of time, they’re light and delicious!

Didn’t have the same experience this time. Made reservations for my wife’s birthday and arrived a few minutes early. The hostess seated us next to the door, I requested a table away from the door and was told no, the 4 tops are booked for groups of 4. It was interesting to see the next three couples come in and get seated at the 4 tops. One was a friend of ours and his wife. He told me they requested a different table and were accommodated. Telling me one thing and then doing the opposite you lose all credibility. We had Eddie for a server and he couldn’t have been better, nice to see someone who takes pride and know his job. My wife ordered a fish dish which was excellent. I had the steak steffanie, which was a small cut of meat and prepared similarly to beef wellington. It was the special however there was nothing special about this. It was chewy and it was more like a medallion rather than a cut of steak. Epic fail on that one. The steak appetizer was ok, nothing that I would order again. Salads were good. I don’t mind paying top dollar for a meal once in awhile but I expect it to be good. This visit was a disappointment. It will be a long time before I return.

One of my all time favorite places! My friends and I have our annual Christmas dinner here every year and we have never been disappointed! Love the shrimp appetizer and the Steak Salerno. Great service, setting and food! What else do you need?

Anniversary dinner. With four small kids at home, you want something close. In North Texas(Flower Mound) there are many places to eat, but Bistecca(formerly the Grotto) stands out as one with all the attributes you want in fine dining with a few exceptions. Service: great, attentive, sensitive to special occasion and request. Food: Very rich, tasty menu with a complimentary wine list. Meat well season, slightly overlooked, but flavorful. Potatoes could be seasoned slightly more. Veggies were a great complement to the main course. Sauces were just enough to add to the flavor of the meat. Recommend: Portobello appetizer, Crème of mushroom soup, Lamb or Tenderloin and Flourless chocolate cakes with Liberty Cab. Football game in bar interrupted the nice atmosphere. Avoid game nights. Still, easy to have a very enjoyable meal and conversation with that special someone.

Wife and I hit bistecca for our Saturday night out. We weren’t expecting much being in the suburbs. Had a nice time, good food and great service. The atmosphere is quiet and mostly 40+. At 34 we were by far the youngest couple. For a date night and being 7 minutes from Bridlewood it was a good fit. We love Dallas, but sometimes the drive is just too far. Will be be back? Yes, at some point but prefer some of the other options in Southlake or Dallas. Really enjoyed the cheese and meat plate for two. The server was great, no complaints.

Amazing restaurant that has been around for years. Chef Salerno maintains high standards for his food, employees and guests. It all shows when you walk in and treated like a special guest during the entire time you are in the restaurant and/or bar.

This place just becomes more impressive with every visit and the bar staff at the Grotto(next door and same ownership) is 1st class. I love this place. I expect things to be down right and they do it, right. Ask for Trey when you come in, he’s an All Pro.

Had a great meal at Bistecca the other night. Mr. Salerno actually came out to check on us and say hello! As we were deciding in an appetizer, he asked if we had ever tried the Salerno steak. We had not an he sent a complimentary order out to us. It was amazing! The meat was incredibly tender and melted in our mouths! We ordered a dozen oysters which were very fresh and quite large. I also ordered a bowl if she crab soup. I have said this before and it is still true, that I have never had a bowl of soup that good. Anywhere in the world. Ever. My entrée was the steak and crab. After watching my wife devour it last time, I have been looking forward to it ever since. It was amazing. Great service and incredible food in an intimate romantic setting.
