I love seeing families working together especially the young ones learning the value of hard work. That being said I may possibly have a soft spot for Taki taco– the meat always smells fresh and the salsas are always a great temperature. Both spicy and refreshing. Also considering this truck is always stationed outside of our 24hr laundry mat and food 4 less makes this very convenient for my partner and I to indulge in some $ 1 tacos. Much better than any of the taco trucks stationed on York and even the 24hr Estrella.

A buck a taco… sweet deal! I had the buche, al pastor and cabeza… all were excellent. Very moist and flavorful. Polite service as well. They have an extensive selection of meats, as well as some unusual items like the«gringo taco,» the«gringa» and something that basically looks like an upside-down taco(I forget what it’s called). Gotta try those some time. A great place in the hood to just hang outside and snack on some cheap grub.

It’s tasty. Good amount of meat in tacos. Tasty tortillas. Cheap price! Also tried the pollo asado torta, I enjoyed every bite.

Great spot here. You’ve got fiscally conservative tacos containing all different portions of God’s great creatures — much of it which I don’t know where it’s from because my Spanish is muy malo. I know there’s tripe, and maybe some head meat, and also your standard cuts of meat — but whatever you get it’s pretty damn good. As other people have said you can see the cook putting your stuff together. That’s good because you never know what kind of insanity could be lurking behind the cold steel reinforced walls of taco trucks. You. never. know. Alrighty then — I recommend this place. Not only do you get your fill of tacos here but they provide you a side of grilled onions and peppers. Obviously, bring yo cash fool. This ain’t Kogi tacos: ninguna tarjeta de crédito(thank you Google Translate).

This place gets big lines, however it has fast service, cheap prices and not overrun by posers so you know you can trust me on this one. Tacos and burritos are ok nothing out of this world, worth the money though.

I’ve been a fan of taco trucks since I was a kid, since it was the occasional treat. I’ve had tacos in various states and up North, and I have to say that LA has it down better than most. There’s always a sea of taco trucks, restaurants and stands in the LA area. And while I’ve not had them all(yet), I have to say that this is hands-down my favourite truck in the LA area that I’ve tried. I’ve tried their burritos(not the best best ever, but pretty good) and their tacos only. I’ve tried their asada, al pastor, lengua, cabeza and chicken tacos and I’ve been pretty impressed with most. The asada was okay. It’s been good at times and it’s been so-so at others but never bad. But what REALLY impressed me was their al pastor. You’ve had al pastor at other places — soaking in red sauce when they serve it to hide the dryness(or super-fattiness) of the meat, or absolutely dry and crunchy that it wasn’t pleasant to eat. Taki Taco’s al pastor is not served with sauce, just the juicy, tender, just right in fattiness pork with onions and cilantro. You dress it yourself with either the red or green salsa. Red is hotter than green. They also give you a little packet with some Jalapenos and sauteed onions. I highly recommend you use it! The pork is just right here. The asada isn’t too dry but definitely The truck has a big window so you can see your food being prepared. The cooks are clean, you get a number when you order, which they call out in both Spanish and English for you. And it’s CHEAP. it was. I believe the tacos are 75 cents a piece. The burritos are about 3 dollars. It’s a truck so plan to sit on the low wall outside the Food 4 Less or stand, or just take it to go. Make sure you grab some lemons, radish, salt and salsa if you do, as they don’t pack that for you. I do believe they’re open till 11 for your late night grub needs, and are there later in the afternoon. Note: I didn’t see the truck there on Fridays during Lent so they may take those days off. It’s right next to Food 4 Less and 7 – 11 in case you wanted some beer with your food. Parking sucks but late at night I’ve seen people park on the street or in the car wash lot next to the truck.

First off.75c tacos! Also with each order they give you foiled up grilled onions and and grilled peppers, I have yet to see that anywere else. The tacos themselves are quite delicious though small so be sure to up your order just abit more then you usually eat. The true beauty is right next to them is a corn on the cob aaaaand now theres a churro man! The churro man also does fried platans and is $ 3 for 7 churros! So me and my girl got 12 tacos and a bag of churros for like $ 12 something.

Is this the place infront of or aside of food for less, next to a guy that sells corn on a cob? cause if it is. I love love love iove it! this is my place to be. my bf gets mad cause i can eat that every day. I love love love and cant get enough of their burritos. At first I was not too fond of them because im not that big on meat and trust me they pack that burrito with meat, its exagerating. But one day I asked him because they are all brothers if they can put less meat and add more rice. and they did. I went back 3 times that week. seriously, Its good. really good. so now every time I go I order the same thing, they probably know what im going to order before I get there. 2 burritos de asada con menos carne y mas arros porfavor. that is 2 burritos de asada with less meat and more rice. The only time I eat rice is at my moms when i go once a month and the taco stand. I love it. and 5 stars are to say the least. i would give them a 10. clean, cheap, and delicious. Las 3 B. Bueno, bonito, y barato. lol You should go! well worth it. when i was in college this was my salvation.

3.5 Stars. I work backwards. Minus one star for decent but not stellar burrito. Add one star back for good prices. Minus one star for so-so green sauce. Minus .5 stars for okay rice that is not a virgin pink-orange fluffy mound of visual and textural goodness. Remember, 3.5, not 3. I can see they’ve got it all down. Clear glass, so you can see if the taco guy is picking his nose before serving you some carne asada. Salsa dispensers(yes, you heard right) that are purely made for high volume mexican food settings(though I’ve never seen green sauce squirted out like ketchup before). A loudspeaker and ticket with your number for easy food pick up. It’s efficient! It’s clean! It has neon lights on the back of the truck! One one hand, its dirt cheap. $ 3 for a burrito is unheard of. Just what are you ingesting in that hot little foil wrapped package anyway? I like that their beans are NOT refried– just smooth and texture friendly. The rice is okay, nothing to die for, or die of.(it’s WHITE! No offense, gringos) The green sauce, is, well, green sauce. I won’t have a heart attack if they run out, not like King Taco which is the KING of green salsa. On that other hand, if you’re drunk/broke/tired/hungry, drop by for a quick fix. It’s probably just as bad as that $ 10 greasy thing you had at Acapulco/Fred’s Mexican/El Cholo /Olive Garden/or, god forbid, DOÑAROSA’s in pasadena, but at least you’re not set back $ 15 for a mediocre food experience. In fact, it might seem spectacular because you really spent $ 4! I mean, even if it was crappy, who cares. Write it off as Bad Debt.(nudge, nudge, accountants ;) Another good experience you now owe to your stomach. Really now, unless you are super hungry and deprived, you can’t spend more than $ 6 here. Period. I just ate my burrito 3 hours ago; so far, so good. If you happen to see a revision in the wee hours of Thursday morning, beware! (Meanwhile…) So while it’s not something I CRAVE, it is something I will look forward to in the near future as I watch more cheap movies in Highland Park and hunt down hipster /cool vibe bars in this slowly, (SLOWLY) up and coming neighborhood. Give it two more years and you won’t be needing to put that club on your steering wheel while you get raging drunk at Little Cave.

I love this place for cheap Al Pastor but the Carne Asada is borderline inedible. Stick to the Al Pastor!

Great tacos for 0.75 cents each! Yes you heard me right, 0.75 cents!!! The tacos are a bit small so order at least 4 – 5 to handle that late night post-drinking hunger. This taco truck is usually here until 11pm or so on weekdays and 1am on weekends. Dont worry about the«roach coach» myth, I’ve eaten here a few times and has never had«the runs» the next day.

My favorite of the three or four trucks that cluster around the Food 4 Less on Figueroa between Ave 50 and Ave 51 in Highland Park. Why? Because I can something other than a taco. I can get a vegetarian burrito, dammit, and they don’t look at me like I’m crazy when I ask for it. It’s sizable(I wouldn’t attempt to eat two in quick succession), it’s got nice salty white cheese it in, sloppy beans and warm yellow rice, onion, cilantro. They have two excellent salsas in big pump-top tanks attached to the side of the truck. And they plate your burrito with half of an onion that’s been roasted on the grill for an hour until it’s almost falling apart. Alternate bites of burrito, peeling the foil away as you go, with layers of the onion. Oh mom. And it’s like two bucks. Three sometimes, depending on who’s taking the order. Definitely one of the top four or five cheap eats for me in this city. They have pineapple drink and horchata, but not jamaica, which is a shame, because I bet they’d do it well. People who have eaten the tacos seem to give it a thumbs up, but I forget which meats they were having. They seem to show up around sundown and have been there as late as I’ve ever tried to go. I don’t know where they go during the day, but I’m sure it’s a magical wonderful land full of happy full people with cool hats. UPDATE(10⁄08): Next to the truck is a guy who sells real-fruit raspados and corn. I had last night for the first time ‘elote en vaso,’ which is basically a cup of soupy corn kernels anointed with margarine, mayo, cream, powdered cotija cheese, ground red chili, hot sauce, and lime juice. Holy crap: it’s like movie theater popcorn in a cup. Hot, sour, cheesy, salty, crunchy, buttery … Deadly(no doubt) but divine. Since I’m not clear of the degree to which the personnel of the Taki truck and the raspados-and-corn concern are independent of one another, I’m reviewing the latter here rather than creating its own Unilocal business entity entry. Oh, and the raspados are good, but hecka sweet. The best one so far has been the walnuts-and-cream one(«nuez») that Jose had, but the selection of flavors varies from visit to visit.
