I have really been spoiled by street my whole life from taco trucks to guerrilla taco stands which hasn’t done me wrong like those other places that people report about getting sick at… I dont know maybe I just lucked out

You’ll find this place right about here located directly across the street from the historical Lummis Home. When I saw his lights as I exited the freeway I got a bit excited, because for the past few nights I have been driving past the dark and lonely spot where this guy sometimes sets up and I thought he was gone forever. But I guess if you’re lucky you will find his little stand just off the 110 freeway at Ave 43. Tonight you could say I got lucky. His stand is run from a generator and consists of a large griddle and a large cauldron of meat boiling in it’s own juices — illuminated by three bare 60 watt bulbs dangling from a bar over the whole apparatus. I can only vouch for the taco’s Al Pastor which are amazing, and at $ 1 a piece it’s worth it to get many. I don’t know what spices he uses but whatever they are they work. Apparently Al Pastor was developed in Mexico city and influenced by the Shawarma brought in by Lebanese immigrants. His grill is very clean and he seems to take great pride in his cooking. He uses double corn tortillas that he dips in that boiling vat, but just the edges. Then he cooks them up nice and tender on the griddle. He scoops up a very generous portion of meat with the tortillas and wraps them up in foil. GETTHESPICYREDSAUCEONTHELEFT. He has«to go» containers for sauces, so load it up while he cooks your stuff. I am still in heaven from the heat in my mouth and stomach. Don’t touch your eyes afterwards. He has no pollo, just beef and pork. He was there tonight so my guess is that he’ll be there on Friday nights and probably Sat. too. I’m sure he has to stay low on the radar. He usually has his wife and baby with him so I am more than happy to support this guy. Heck, it’s not a sacrifice I promise!
