THEYCHARGEYOUEXTRAIFYOUDON’T FINISH your food! I went on a Wednesday for dinner with a friend, and it was very busy. Appetizers came out pretty quickly but the main sushi order took forever. Plus they didn’t give us everything we ordered. We ordered 5 rolls but only two rolls came out with other sashimi order. So we ordered the other 3 rolls that we didn’t get. This time it took even longer than the first order. So we couldn’t finish the whole thing when we got our second order. When we asked for the bill, the owner started to scold us for not finishing it all! Then he said that we can take them home if we pay $ 6 more. We didn’t want to but we ended up taking it for $ 5 because he was forcing us. It’s supposed to be all you can eat! He didn’t say anything to other tables who left more food than us! So wrong!

All you can eat sushi don’t waste you will be charged if you waste. They staff and owner loves babies I bring my 8 month old all the time and they always smile at her and wave. Now to the important stuff sushi is good wait is not bad you put your whole order in at once if you want more you have to fill out another sheet. I’m becoming a regular here

Amazing all you can eat sushi/sashimi and more for $ 19.99 on weekdays and $ 21.99 on weekends. The restaurant was nice, clean, and bright. I went there on a Monday evening, it wasn’t very busy and our service was great. Our food was freshly prepared and fast. They have a menu for sushi/sashimi, rolls, and special rolls, and a menu for kitchen(salads, soup, tempura, katsu, and dessert). And everything was just $ 20. The sashimi was very fresh, my favorites are the salmon, red clams, squids, and tobiko(fish row). For the kitchen, I love the shrimp tempura, fried calamari, pork katsu and Kalbi(short ribs). For dessert, they have different ice cream and fried bananas and fried oreos. I was so excited about the deep fried oreos. Each order comes with 2 fried oreos. I wish they make their deep fired oreos with western batter, like the batter for doughnuts or corndogs. But they fried their oreos with the tempura batter, which is thin and different. But I guess that’s less batter and slighter healthier… Maybe. Regardless, they still tasted amazing Overall, I love this place, it exceeded my expectation. The environment is chill, food is great, service is great. Definitely will come back and try the location in Bayside.

Eureka! Really, really good all you can eat sushi! This place is just fantastic. The sushi and sashimi is fresh and delicious. Load up all you want for a reasonable price but be sure to leave room for the most addictive dessert you’ll ever have… tempura Oreos!

Arrived for a Sunday lunch and the parking lot is literally empty. I thought the place was closed and i just drove 40 mins for nothing but we just the first ones there. I tried the Kani salad w/spicy mayo and Spicy Seaweed Salad. Both were almost the same w/one having seaweed salad. Both were good. For appetizers, I tried the croquettes, takoyaki, shrimp tempura, kalbi, and chicken satay. The croquettes and takoyaki were mush(one in a ball-shaped and one breaded)…wasn’t a fan. The shrimp tempura was flaky, light, and good. The kalbi was really chewy and needed to be cooked longer. The flavor was a little weird so I didn’t really like it too much but needed it to break-up the sushi. For the chicken satay, I took a bite, chewed it and then spit all of it out right away. The chicken(not the sauce, not the marinade) tasted weird almost like it was bad but it just wouldn’t go down so I didn’t take another bite. I’ve had chicken satay at tons of places(including Thai places) and there was just something bad about this one. We got sashimi, sushi, and rolls and one word of WARNING… the rolls all have TONS of extra rice so be careful ordering too many rolls. The sushi had a normal amount of rice but the fish/unagi could have been bigger. For the sashimi, the red clam was sliced a 1⁄3 of what you normally get at other places so each one is a strip instead of a whole triangle. The fish were sliced good; not too big, not too small. Overall, the quality of the fish were not fresh and looked of it. For dessert, we tried the fried oreos and I had the usual red bean and green tea ice cream. The fried oreos were oily and didn’t taste right. The ice cream tasted different than what I’ve had in other places. I didn’t like this too much. Suffice to say, it was an experience that I would not have again. I should have stayed local but I decided to give this place a try because a couple people said they were good.

I find myself driving to other sushi locations rather than sushi village in Hicksville. I used to love this place, but the last few times I went, the sushi seems to be 70% rice. I understand it’s all you can eat and they want to fill you with the rice. But com’on! Don’t change now !!

Very nice place to eat with the family. We left feeling quite satisfied. They give you a nice variety to choose from… Soups, salads, appetizers, sushi, sashimi and dessert. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly and fast. We had to wait a little toward the end, but I think it was because there was a rush of new people being served. I would probably order a little more on the first run, but we wanted to be careful not to waste. Needless to say, there was zero waste!

Came with my family for nice dinner. Fresh made sushi and sashimi. Of course maki rolls. Only thing you’d have to think about it is it takes quite awhile to get your order so order what you want ahead of time. Your second dish might come when you get your check.

I’ve been here on multiple occasions and I’m obsessed. Strangely enough I’m not a big fish person so the only thing I eat as far as sushi goes are the California Rolls. I like many of the other things they serve. I like the fact that I can still eat there and be full on just California rolls and the other things. The staff is friendly sometimes and other times not so friendly, but I’ve never experienced anything crazy so I have no real complaints. The only thing that I didn’t like one night, I was there with a group of about 13 – 15 people and it was a Wednesday night. The restaurant wasn’t that busy but we had to wait for a table which was fine. However there was a big table empty when you first walk in that could easily fit the amount of people that were with me. We had asked if we can be seated at that table but that had said it was for«take out only». I was kind of confused why take out has a table and nobody was at that table so why couldn’t we have it. We ended up being sat 15 minutes later, but yeah at the time it was annoying. The only con I guess I can say is don’t go with a big group of people.

RECOMMENDED Since opinions about this restaurant diverge wildly, this review is a little difficult but… that’s why they pay us the big bucks(NOT!) so here goes: Sushi Village, a bright and well lit restaurant in a former Sizzler location along a commercial stretch on the North side of Old Country Road in Hicksville, features All You Can Eat Sushi, Sashimi and other Japanese food for $ 21.99 on weekends. I hosted a dinner here for our Meetup group on Friday, 1⁄8. The experience was not without issues, but the tremendous value of their AYCE concept and the freshness of the Sushi and Sashimi they served our group explains my rating. Shortly after seating our group our waitress and the restaurant manager resisted our request for separate checks and the presentation of individual order sheets, citing the inclination to «cheat» since two of our members, one a strict vegetarian, were not ordering AYCE. They also complained about the proliferation of dishes if people ordered individually. This went on for ten minutes and my people were getting restless and hungry. Thank God for the diplomatic skills of one of our Chinese speaking members, a regular at the restaurant, who got the restaurant to accede to our requests. Henry Kissinger, in observing his feat, would have had«tongue envy». After this controversy ended, I needed to order a large Warm Saki($ 8.00)!!! On to the food. I really enjoyed the Gyoza(fried dumplings), grilled squid and several varieties of eel rolls. I do not have the space or expertise to describe each type of Sushi and Sashimi that the group enjoyed but can state, unequivocally, that they raved about the quality, deliciousness and freshness of the fish and other seafood. They liked the Kalbi(short ribs) too. I thought the Chicken and Pork Katsu was meh. The Shrimp and Vegetable Tempuras were under-seasoned and bland. Desserts were a highlight, a comment generally not made about Asian restaurants. I loved my chocolate and vanilla ice cream, getting seconds. The tempura Fried Bananas and Fried Oreos were delicious. Our group also loved the green tea ice cream. On the negative, our server, though very pleasant, did not clear plates promptly, leaving the table a disorganized mess at times. Because of the way it runs the AYCE concept, this restaurant would be more enjoyable for groups of four or less, ordering collectively. The bottom line is that I would not hesitate to return to this restaurant or schedule another dinner for our group there.

If there is one thing that really bother me about a place that is all you can eat, it is when you do not order a lot because you are trying to be conscious of what you may waste, yet they still do not give you everything you ask for and you have to flag them down. We also were handed the menu papers to fill out two extra times because they did not know what we ordered for dessert. The food all and all was just okay, nothing tasting bad, but it was not completely fresh and a lot of things were not so flavorful. However i have to give them credit for having excellent pork Gyoza… not sure why but it was incredible. This AYCE menu seem to be lacking from the non sushi page, however unique to a lot of other AYCE places they offered more dessert options at all times such as fried bananas and tempura fried oreos. Both were the best part of the meal!

The food is fresh and really comes out fast. The sushi is solid for an all you can eat and the kitchen food is yummy. There is a large variety on the sushi side which is rare and good to see. My only complaint is the tempura. It is a bit dense. On top of everything the staff is friendly and attentive.

I first went to the Sushi Village in Bayside with a friend who lived in the area. I did not expect much at all from an «all you can eat» place and was pretty apprehensive. Because the sushi was actually GOOD, I was blown away. So excited. Like a kid in a candy store, I ordered way too much and was out of commission for quite a while. I was so excited when I saw that there was another Sushi Village near my parents’ house and could re-live the all you can eat sushi coma. Though it’s all you can eat, it’s made to order from a menu, not buffet style. Love that. Also, the sushi is actually really good. It is definitely the best I’ve had in the area in recent years. A million times better than Ruby Sushi, Hama Sushi, and Bluefish. I recommend and will be back next time I’m in the area and feeling death by sushi.

For an all you can eat, they stack up about as well as the rest of them in this area. We were a group of 8 and came for lunch. The restaurant wasn’t completely full, but we kept them pretty busy. The sushi was about as fresh as you’d imagine and the hot food was pretty decent. The kitchen food came out super quick, but the sushi took much longer. I can’t imagine how slow this place would be during the Saturday night dinner rush. All in all, the place was clean, food was good and I definitely ate my moneys worth. This place is no better or worse than other ayce’s in the area, so if this is the closest one, definitely stop by. Will likely be back the next time my sushi craving kicks in.

Environment: 3⁄5 Employees: 4⁄5 Food: 4⁄5 Cost: 3⁄5 Parking: 4⁄5 Total: 18⁄25 Story Time: After finishing setting up at the food expose, I decided to see what Nick/Steven were doing as they were in Manhattan according to our group chat. Upon arrival to the Lower East Side, Steven decided he wanted to go home. Seriously? Ugh! Getting to the depths of queens took F-O-R-E-V-E-R…as there were road work and by the time we dropped his sorry ass off, there was no time for pool. Gasp… okay what’s Plan B. All you can eat sushi. Okay… I obliged… In retrospect, I should have just gone home… Synopsis: I would say the worst sushi buffet EVVVVVVVAAAA! The miso soup was off point as well, and the sushi, I don’t know. it just… it needed a Japanese touch as there were none working at that restaurant. However, the irony is that the place was PACKED! Packed like sardines with presumably people who have bad pallet of what decent buffet sushi tastes like. I have been reduced to a peasant level. Ummm… luckily no one was fabulous enough to revoke my crown. The only thing worth the calories was the ICECREAM! YUM!!! Environment: The set up of the place was really good. Easy to get pass by, don’t have to feel as if you are being intruded or vice-versa. And also there are some good luck fish at the entrance. Is it good luck fish? However, waiting doesn’t provide such luxury as people roll their eyes and push through to put their names in or leave the establishment. Employees: It appears they always forget to bring some of the dishes you ordered. What are you doing back there? But I guess it could be worst, right? I mean, they could be total assholes. Food: Tempura: The style of breading was not a good choice. It wasn’t your batter type. It was more the bread crumbs-like-feel. I forgot the exact name. Not worth the calories. and I was really looking forward to it. 1⁄5 Shumai: Simply done, but with the fruity mango sauce, this went from mediocre to amazing. 5⁄5 Gyoza: Meh… the dumplings weren’t done in a fabulous motion. Wish it was home made… Even with the mango sauce, it was kind of blah 3⁄5 Assortment of Sushi: In general, the quality was sub-par. Not even good bad sushi. Just… ugh. what happened to the freshness? It seemed like we got the«bottom» of the barrel. the scraps… the leftovers. I was not pleased. I just wanted my god-damn ice cream! 2⁄5 Green tea ice cream: YUM! Definitely get this when you are done. 5⁄5 Red Bean ice cream: Definitely get this with your green tea ice cream. Soooo good! 5⁄5. Cost: $ 22.I mean. I guess. :/ Parking: You definitely need your butler/chauffer to drive you around in style. And even though our wait was about 30 minutes, there were a lot of parking on the street close to the restaurant. Thanks Nick. :D But in terms of public transportation, don’t waste your time.

Unilocal can both be the best tool and the most dangerous tool for finding places when you are hungry. And you know what sounds great when you are hungry? UNLIMITEDSUSHI, dangerous to be sure. So we drive down this way last week to check it out, not specifically knowing what to expect beyond the nebulous concept of sushi that is both expensive and endless. We pulled into the parking lot on a Friday night and this place was P-A-C-K packed. The parking lot was tight due to the recent snow and the oddly placed piles. Luckily even with a ton of people waiting before us the wait was no longer then 15 minutes. When ordering, you check off everything you want from a sheet of paper and then you receive your orders as they are completed. Things took some time but everything arrived as ordered and nicely plated. This place gives you very decent quality for the quantity. Everything prepared from their XXL sized sushi bar is presented nicely and everything tastes fresh. The cooked appetizers left some room to be desired and seemed like an after thought. The primary strike against this place is the ambiance. The building on the outside looks like an old ChuckeCheese and then inside looks like a diner designed to get people in and out as quickly as possible. Just keep in mind that what you are paying for is unlimited made to order sushi and not the place settings and décor and you’ll have a great meal.

Similar to the one in Queens, but this Sushi Village is a truck out to L.I. for us, but we do it when we’re out in the area to shop at IKEA or at the Broadway Mall. Sometimes we’ll even make a special trip here, mainly because the AYCE option is a very good deal for $ 21.99(weekends). If you’re looking to set a new personal record for sushi gorging, you’ve found the perfect place. Ordering is by checklist for the kitchen and sushi bar. Kitchen items such as miso soup, salads, shumai, gyoza, katsu, teriyaki & tempura are the quickest, though sometimes they will forget a few items, they are still better than other custom ordered AYCE’s. Our Achille’s heel is always the chicken vegetable soup. I think they still owe us a few bowls from our last few outings. Some of the outstanding items are the spicy seaweed salad, a combination of kani, seaweed and spicy mayo dressing. The kalbi(grilled short ribs), though not very Japanese is still very tasty. Your gigantic plate of sushi & sashimi literally hits the table with a THUNK because you were curious about some of the strangely named rolls and checked off most everything like there was no more sushi tomorrow. You can even ask for handrolls of your favorites, like eel avocado or spicy tuna or salmon for us. Sashimi is the way to go if you don’t want to load up on rice and they have eel as a sashimi option. Finish up with dessert of red bean or green tea ice cream, fresh fruit or banana tempura. Or if you’re like me, have another unagi handroll for dessert! If you’ve ever had a friend volunteer as designated driver for bar hopping, this would be a good idea for AYCE sushi because you’ll roll yourselves out to the more than substantial parking lot and pass into a food coma on your drive home.
