Authentic Indian restaurant serving classic dishes. I have had many meals here and never been disappointed. The spice levels can be modified at request. I enjoy the shrimp jalfrezi, mushroom matar, saag paneer, samosa chaat, aloo gobi, aloo baigan, malai kofta, chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, and others. There is no wrong choice on this menu. I enjoy the masala chai tea and mango lassi as well. There are several different types of naan and complimentary papadam served with green chutney and tamarind sauce. The desserts are also very good. Would recommend.

Absolutely the best chicken tikka masala here!!! The service is fast and the servers are really nice. Its a pretty quiet restaurant but i definitely suggest getting chicken tikka masala with naan. The naan is like a round bread and it always comes out warm. The restaurant can be a bit pricey, but the food is worth every penny

Used to love it, but now they don’t deliver to where I live all of a sudden– very disappointing.

My go to spot for Indian food. The perfect amount of spice but still flavorful. I’ve never had a bad dish here, and the Naan is always delicions. Love coming for the lunch buffet to to get a little variety. Highly recommend this place.

Delicious! You want spicy food that still contains flavor? Come here. You want friendly service? Come here. You want a scale of 1 – 10 offered as far as spice goes? Come here. You want goat and not just lamb as an option? Come here. Food is great, service is even better. Yes, it’s located in a strip mall but this is Long Island such is life. The goat masala is the best I’ve ever had and the meat melts in your mouth like butter. The naan and roti are perfectly made and always warm. Prices are fair with each dish costing around $ 12. I also appreciate a place that appreciates my love of spice and isn’t afraid to make something spicy upon request.

I love coming to this place when I’m craving cheap and good Indian food. I absolutely love the chicken tikka masala here! They give you huge chunks of chicken meat & everything is fresh. They make the naan bread fresh as well. It’s less than $ 10 a person so it’s very affordable.

I went here with my wife for dinner because we were in the neighborhood. The place was empty. It was cold inside the restaurant. There were two tables with space heaters on them. The waiter sat us at a table next to a small space heater. It was still cold at our table. We asked to sit at the table with the big space heater. It was warm at this table.(Did they pay the heating bill?!?). My wife ordered the lamb vindaloo and I ordered goat rogan josh. The food was ok. A couple of people picked up orders that they called in. Some guys brought in tile to install in the kitchen. I will definitely not be returning to this place.

Came here again for the lunch buffet yesterday. Still a good deal as it is $ 8.95 plus tax on the weekends and $ 7.95 plus tax on weekdays(if i’m not mistaken). Lunch buffet is always solid; my favorite dishes are the chicken tikka masala and the other curry-type dish with peas and cheese cubes. They had more samosas going yesterday, which was a plus, but unfortunately they didn’t have the rice pudding so i didn’t have dessert.: -(As always, they only have a few dishes, so selection isn’t fantastic. Service was good; they were friendly and stopped by a few times to see if we needed anything. Happy to say that i would continue to endorse this place as a 4-star establishment.

My third Indian buffet experience in Hicksville and I have to say this place offers the least amount of variety. The price is comparable to others in the area and for the food I am surprise they are still in business. They may be a $ 1 cheaper to others in the area but it is not worth it. I can’t recommend their buffet and the quality was sub par compare to others. I putting a cautious on this restaurant.

Good price… with the fid cheaper in the weekdaya. $ 8 in the weekday and $ 9 weekends but they served curry fish during the weekday. Unlimited water served. For extra beverages have to pay extra.

A friend and I decided we were going to get Indian, but once we got to Hicksville, we had no idea where to go. It was really by happenstance that we wound up here, as it was rated well enough on Unilocal, and I noticed the search result right as we came up to the parking lot. The place has a rather square, open layout that is comfortably(intimately?) lit, decorated and furnished, and adequately sized. The food was pretty middle of the road. Not bland or gross, but nothing to call home about either. The waitstaff seemed a little standoffish, or at least uncomfortable. When we ordered, we both really wanted to get the same item, but the server flat out said no, and to get another secondary item instead. The intention seemed well enough, but there are more cordial ways to make suggestions. I really wasn’t in the mood to have that conversation, so I just changed my order to something else. The server was rather helpful in helping us make an informed decision that accommodated our diet, though. After that, we were tended to frequently enough so that we knew we weren’t forgotten, but not so much that it was disruptive or bothersome. When the check came, I was a little surprised to see one of the sides on it, since the server’s choice of words seemed to imply that it came with the meal. Even with that, the bill was still pretty reasonable. Overall, interior was nice; food was decent; service was adequate. I would probably make the round to the other Indian restaurants in the area before returning here, but if I was invited to by a friend to dine here, I would be totally cool with that.

Another great little no frills Indian buffet for lunch. Priced right at $ 7.95 for lunch with fresh Naan and a nice selection of your basic Indian staples featuring Tandoori chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan josh and other vegetarian assortments, salads and desserts. On the negative the lids covering the food are made out of brass and you need to manual hook the lids in place at each station to get your food, then proceed to unhook and put the lid back over the food, as silly as this may sound it’s an extra step that is annoying, but you look past this because the food is good and the price is right! The service is poor, yes I know, It’s a buffet, but the removal of our finished plates from our tables were done in two speeds, slow and stopped. The waiter just forgot about us and we were forced to put our used plates at the empty table behind us, not once, not twice but several times. I’m here mainly for the food and the price you can’t go wrong. The place is located in a strip mall with a huge parking lot which is a plus.

Dropped by New Chili and Curry for dinner tonight, but the wait was too long, especially since the food is just ok. We decided to leave and try a nearby Indian restaurant only to find this treasure. All of the food was wonderful! It’s the best Indian restaurant my husband and I have found in the area, and I can’t wait to go back!

One of my childhood Indian-American friends recommended this place since my family has several go-tos for Indian food in the city, but none by our hometown on LI. It was a decent buffet for about $ 9/head and my family and I enjoyed it(seven of us total), but we were hoping for more options. About six or seven dishes set out on serving hot plates(like Sterno style except in a fancy-looking holder) not an actual buffet table. The food holders are a bit bulky and it’s awkward to manage holding your plate with utensils and food while lifting the lids and placing them on the hooks and then putting them back. We ordered a few items off the menu to supplement our meal and everything was good, but definitely not the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The buffet looked like the food had been out there for a while, even though we arrived shortly after 1pm. Admittedly, two dishes were replaced right after we finished the last of it, so maybe we just got the tail end of the first set of dishes that had been put out. It was a bit weird when we saw our waitress put on her jacket and purse to leave mid-shift and then came back 20 minutes later. We had no idea if she was coming back, so the young busboy had to tend to us, and we had to(gently) remind him several times to get our to go containers. Additionally, my dad asked for water with a lemon wedge two or three times, and when it finally came out it had a lime wedge. We reminded them that my dad had asked for lemon, not limes, and they said they don’t have lemons. I’m not a fan of the fact that they didn’t ask us first if lime would be an acceptable substitute(limes and lemons don’t taste the same??), and I thought that it’s weird they don’t have lemons when they serve lemon chicken. Anyway, I’m open to trying it again since it’s pretty cheap and my friend was adamant that they’re very good. Perhaps it was just an off day since we did see it got busy when we left and it was clear they have regulars. The place is pretty simple and although it’s small, they use their space pretty efficiently. Also, my toddler-aged nephews both enjoyed the food, which is a good sign.

Nice place. I was seated right away, but I think that was just luck. The place fills up quickly. To start I had naan and onion kulcha. Holy crap! It was delicious. Crispy on the edges and soft in the middle. Perfect. Then I had the chicken tikka masala. I’m new to the whole Indian experience so I kept it mild on the heat. Wow! The chicken was tender and juicy, and the creamy red sauce was so flavorful with a slight hint of sweetness. Another big plus was the service. The food came out so quickly and by the time I was ready to leave, my server seemed genuinely concerned that I liked my food. Like would be a severe understatement. Loved it! Highly recommended

For a small restaurant tucked away in a strip mall, any place with the name«palace» clearly harbors visions of grandeur. Kiran Palace was my most recent foray into the spectacle that is all you can eat Indian buffet. How does this palace compare to my other recent discoveries? It’s by far budget friendly, at $ 8.95 a head. The lineup of available dishes is in the 8 – 10 item range and a basket of naan is brought to your table.(Our basket took longer than others to arrive as we had already made it through one round of eating.) Now fresh naan in a basket has its benefits but so does grabbing as much as you want at the buffet, especially when the naan is refreshed.(Conversely, naan that has been sitting at the buffet table for awhile should be best avoided) Service is where Kiran Palace can use some slight improvement. Other tables were given carafes of water without asking for it. I had to ask for mine. Plate removal time, a key metric of the AYCE buffet game, was slow. Staff seemed to be having disagreements and arguments that also clouded the atmosphere. While engaging in self service, the way the food was presented also required an extra step, mainly of placing the lid on a hook, scooping and then reattaching the lid. Again, hardly a huge problem but a few extra seconds interfering with my gluttony. As for the buffet items, I’d say Kiran checks all the boxes of popular Indian cuisine but will not surprise with lesser known dishes. Tandoori chicken, lamb rogan josh, daal, saag, rice and another veggie dish were all quite tasty if leaving a salty residual after taste. The buffet was not a revelation as if the hand of God were to appear, wielding a serving spoon that emits the divine curry. Instead it was a pleasant enough refilling of the belly at a reasonable price with ample parking. Considering the plethora of Indian restaurants in Hicksville, I’m likely to venture out to others first before returning to Kiran Palace.

CAUTION: This place clearly has inflated rating from all those 4&5 stars given by folks who barely have a clue about tasty India food(sorry white people). I rarely give 1 star for business that serves food. That should tell you something about this place. Let me be clear — I don’t expect exceptional service when I pay less than $ 15 for an entrée. But that doesn’t mean you can dish out terrible service and get away with it. Here’s my main gripe with this place: — horrible service — the ENTIRE place is empty(Monday evening) and the waiter is pissed off that he has to now serve the one customer he has — the waiter swipes my card, and instead of handing it over to me takes a good look at the front and back of the card. Totally unnecessary and unprofessional — the food SUCKS balls. I could have made better biryani than the one they charged me $ 15 for and the last time I cooked was in 2003 Save your money and visit some of the better Indian places around. There’s House of Dosas, Diwan, New Chili & Curry to name a few

Popular Northern Indian Restaurant tucked back in a shopping plaza on the corner of Hicksville Rd. and Old Country Rd. Lunch offers a variety of everything… When I was there among two other tables who actually were of Indian descent pulled up a car of four young guys early 20s. They raced in and seemed to know the proprietor, and obviously it was their favorite place. We liked it as they had a lot of items. Their paneer was peas in a smooth curry sauce. Not coconut, that is Southern Indian. But awesome.

This is for a pickup order. I called ahead and placed my order and they told me it would be ready in fifteen minutes. I asked for the total and it seemed to be a little over what is listed online and on grubhub. The order should have come out to around $ 17 for one chicken sahi korma at $ 9.95, one vegetable samosa $ 4.95 and one plain naan at $ 2. Even with tax that still doesn’t come out to the $ 22.70 I was charged but I was pressed for time on my lunch break and when I questioned the amount the server seemed to get angry. It wasn’t a big enough difference for me to warrant arguing over so I simply took my food and hit the road. The naan was great, not the best I’ve ever had but it was a good thickness and texture. The samosa was too seedy. They did not bother to grind up the fennel, cumin, and corriander seeds and just threw them in whole. I did not like the way that tasted. They were also a bit awkward to eat because there were only 2 of them but they were large and shaped like massive fortune cookies. The chicken korma was nice and creamy and the pieces of chicken were tender. The dish definitely lacked spice. It came with plain basamati rice which was in a separate container. The chutney was very tasty but not enough to return solely for. I’ve had an itch for Indian all week but I don’t feel like it’s been properly scratched based on this experience. I’ll be looking for a better alternative.
