I learned from my last visit to Ruby Tuesday not to come on the weekend. Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. is just about as «off hours» as it gets. For a large part of my visit I was the only diner in the restaurant. I sampled their famed salad bar and I had a Diet Coke to drink. The salad bar was good, but it had better be for $ 15.00 including tip. My service from Caleb was exemplary. He was enthusiastic, friendly, and above all — professional. When asked for something Caleb happily and quickly fulfilled the request. He deserved his tip! The cook was singing at the top of his lungs, so this must be a «happy» place to work. LOL. The«music,» and I use that term loosely, was new age — which I didn’t care for. It did not match the, for lack of a better word, DECOR of the restaurant. The Pittsburgh Steelers were playing on one big screen tv, and there was a Shark vacuum infomercial on another. Tip: Buy a Dyson upright, they’re expensive, but they’re worth it. The Dyson is head and shoulders better than the Miele White Pearl that it replaced. A tip for Bill W., the potato salad was excellent! I liked the choice of four salad greens and the freshness of every food item(except the off-season tomatoes). The prepared pasta salads were very good, but the Waldorf salad needed raisins and walnuts to be outstanding. As I said in the beginning, avoid this place on the weekend, because after church on Sunday the place turns into a «mosh pit.» I often crave a good salad and this is the best salad bar that I’ve found in Hickory… so far. If anyone on Unilocal knows of a better, more reasonably priced, salad bar… give me a heads up. Thanks.

Walked into an empty restaurant and our hostess was in the middle of eating dinner, apparently us walking in was a nuisance. the tables were covered in filth and there were numerous people standing around but they didn’t seem to care, more concerned with gossiping and the manager was concerned with how the girls liked her and so forth… will never go back. disgusting

Fresh and well-stocked salad bar brings me back every time. Whatever my family orders, comes out fresh and hot, with the exception of today… my hubby placed an unusual order, and ended up without any meal, what-so-ever. So we live and learn. Don’t stray from the standard menu. There have been a few days and times that the music was too loud and the selections were just plain cheesy, but I filled out an on-line survey for R.T., and commented about the music. My most recent couple of visits have been much better in the music department. Not too loud. Not too cheesy. Maybe it pays to fill out surveys?

I dropped by yesterday because I was craving for some Ruby Tuesdays. I haven’t been there for about 6 months and I wanted to introduce a friend of mine to their food. We had the spinach dip appetizer, salad bar, chicken bella, bacon pretzel burger, and a beautiful dessert that I don’t remember the name of. Me and my friend were about halfway through the appetizer and I randomly decided to look at the chip with the dip. While looking at it, I saw a piece of black/gray curly hair stick right out of it. I notified the waitress when she came back to give our main entrees and she quickly apologized. She pulled the chip appetizer away and said the manager would come out. The manager came out about 5 minutes later and he also apologized for the incident. He offered to get us another spinach dip or another item. He removed the dip from our bill and also bought a dessert for us. The food was amazing and the manager at the Ruby Tuesdays was very helpful. The staff was very nice and the environment is lovely. I would come back again. I just hope there’s no more hair!

Our hostess and waitress were very kind to us. Our waitress was very quick about everything without rushing us. The food was flavorful and delicious. I was expecting more from the salad bar, but I still managed to make myself a pretty satisfying salad. I ordered it with fish tacos, which was under $ 10. That’s definitely a deal! The Asian dumplings(gyoza) were pretty good for an American chain restaurant. The place was really clean and that’s what I like! I would come back if I was ever in the area, but I will never be in this area again because I’m just driving through!

Poor service… the people at the table beside of us left and went to Red Lobster. Soup was cold with raw broccoli in it. Only one person of five was pleased with their food. Waitress never removed dirty salad plates so table looked like a dirty counter.
