DONOTBUY A CARHERE. My story: I bought a used vehicle from them on June 2nd. I am out of state, so they picked me up from the airport, which was very nice of them. They were all very nice during the buying process, but they did lie about a couple dash lights being on; told me there were no dash lights on, turns out there were 2. I had already flown down there, so I purchased the car. It has been great, and the dash light issue is partially my fault, as I should have used this as leverage to get a better price, or purchase a ticket for a return flight back home, but I did neither. Now is where it gets bad… The car had 30 day temp tags from the dealership, which were to expire on July 2nd. On June 11th(21 days left on the temp tag) I emailed the Sales Manager asking about the status of the vehicle registration, to which the Sales Manager cited the standard 30 Day NC temp tag, and said it would be registered within the 30 days. After this, I assume it will be handled, and let it go. On June 29th(3 days left on temp tags) I emailed the sales manager again, asking about the tag status, asking if they were expecting any delay, and told him that I am going out of town in a couple days and needed the car to be registered so my tags didn’t expire. He responded saying he will check on it first thing… I never heard from him. June 30th. I was calling multiple people at the dealership, and no one could give me straight answer. Still no response from the Sales Manager. On July 1st(1 days left on temp tags), the General Manager, I believe, put me in contact with the Title Manager. After multiple phone calls, and many un-returned calls and messages by pretty much everyone at the dealership(they are very hard to get a hold of) I found out that they don’t have the title, they never had it, and they had no definitive date on when they would have it. The General Manager did tell me that I should just drive the car with expired plates, and if I get a ticket«they are normally pretty easy to get out of». I asked if they would cover any legal fees associated with me getting a ticket for an expired plate, to which he said he doesn’t have that authority. July 2nd. Tags expire today. The Sales Manager calls and says that I should have the information needed to register the vehicle on 7/8, or 7⁄9 at the latest. This means that I will not be able to drive the car, that I am paying for, for a week. July 7th. Email the Sales Manager asking about the status of the title, and if they are still on the same schedule that he told me on 7/2, and he never responds. July 8th. Call the Title Manager, and she informs me that they are behind schedule, and cannot give me a date on when I can register the car. Says she will make a call at 9AM and call me back. Well, it is now nearly 1PM, and I have left the Title Manager, as well as the General Manager of the dealership multiple messages, and I have not heard a single thing. This is the largest purchase I have ever made, and it has been met with HANDSDOWN the worst customer service I have ever had. I sit here now, with no date as to when my car will be legal to drive, and no one is returning calls. I will update this once the situation is resolved. UPDATE: After posting this review, the service that I received was upgraded immensely. The Title Clerk that I was working with worked very hard on this, and she seemed to genuinely want to help. There was a lot of back and forth, but it was eventually resolved. It is my understanding that Hickory Mazda did not have the title to the vehicle when I purchased it from them. There was a lady in New Jersey who needed to get a duplicate title, then she had to go to the dealership that she sold the vehicle to, they had to sign off on it, and then overnight it to Hickory Mazda, then they had to overnight it to my local BMV. July 21st, the title is sent to my local BMV, but due to an error on the Indiana BMV’s part, I was not able to register the car. I should note, that on this day I should have been able to register the vehicle. The delay from here on out, is not on the shoulders of Hickory Mazda, and they did a good job of communicating with the dealership that they bought the car from, as well as the New Jersey DMV. July 24th, I am finally able to register the car, and legally drive it! All in all, it took 5 trips to the BMV(2 of them were not Hickory Mazda’s fault), and I was unable to legally drive the vehicle for 22 days.

Be prepared to wait. The maintenance staff is very slow. I called a few days ahead to schedule an appointment to get an oil change and it took them more than an hour for them to complete the job. I would recommend bringing a book to read as you wait in their lounge.

My salesman, Danny Caldwell, made my dad and I feel like family while we were with him during the purchase of my new CX5. I have already recommended him to family for the purchase of their next vehicle. Thank you for all your help!
