Fast and reliable internet service. Installation was pretty straight forward. Three year price guarantee is nice plus they bought out my phone company contract without requiring me to sign any sort of commitment.

Where to begin? And why can’t I give negative stars? I set up first installation appointment at the end of July. After, their technician missed the window by ½ hour, I called the company to find out their technician would be another couple hours, so I rescheduled for September. So, no phone call to say they would be late. Second install appointment, I call after ½ hr after window expires. Only now to find out, my building is listed as not being service ready. Wow! Twice you allowed me to sit waiting for an appoint you KNEW you wasn’t going to make. Not even the common courtesy of a phone call to say, you couldn’t. Waste my time. You are unethical. If anyone has an alternative to Charter Service, you might want to explore those. I guess I will run Netflix and Hulu over my CenturyLink DSL.

I talked to Charter about the price difference and they didn’t really have an answer as to why I pay more than my friend. They gave me a discount. Then the next bill comes and it’s still higher than what they said it would be. I called again and they said that they couldn’t do anything about it since Charter changed their prices. Lol. What was the point of giving me a discount if in the end, it doesn’t work? Thanks Charter.

Charter Communications… SMH, {shakes my head} you done screwed up big time. ;o) My good friend and neighbor across the street, bought the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight on pay per view. He paid at least $ 89.95, and with taxes probably closer to $ 100. He and his wife are retired and they are huge boxing fans. Several of his family, friends, and I were invited over to see the fight. It was a big event for them and a source of pride for them to host the«fight of the century.»(I remember Ali /Frazier, so not really.) Imagine their horror when the fight that they paid BIG money for was not broadcast. Charter’s phone lines were on meltdown, and my neighbor had a house full of guests, and the blue screen of cable TV death. He was livid. What did we do? Six of us loaded into the«church van» that his son-in-law drives, at 10:00 p.m., and we drove to a friend of theirs house just north of Denver, NC. We had a great time watching the fight on a big screen TV which had the PPV fight on U-VERSE. Oddly enough, I also contacted this week to interview with Charter Communications for a B2B sales position, selling Internet and telephone services to businesses. There should be plenty of these job openings come Monday morning. The local sales manager told me that the sales team had to cold call 30 companies, PERPERSON, every day of the week. They only need four salespeople to cover our entire area, but they want to have six people in the territory. I said, «thanks, but no thanks.» Charter Communications works as a «turn and burn» company that seeks to saturate an area, with no interest other than market share. After tonight’s fiasco, I’m glad that my intuition paid off, and that I decided not to join their company. I think that after tonight a used car salesman has more credibility than a Charter Communications salesperson. My Charter internet and cable TV service? The internet speeds could be much faster for what I’m paying. It’s a damn shame that they’re offering their fastest 60 Mbps speeds to businesses for $ 29.99 /month, and they’re charging me $ 60+ for 30 Mbps. They are also charging me this amount for an extended basic TV package, whereas one of my neighbors told me last night that she gets 200+ channels from Dish for $ 29 /mo. All the«good stuff» on Charter… HBO, Cinemax, etc. — costs extra as well. I’m thinking of just cancelling my TV service completely, since I get all my information and most of my entertainment through the internet. In case you’re lazy and didn’t do the math — that’s $ 120 /month for cable and extended basic TV, which is just more than I can justify spending. Charter has a lock on our area for internet and cable TV… for the moment, since there are no competing cable companies. Welcome to rural America! U-verse or Google could take their entire market share — IF they chose to cover WNC. For cable, phone, and internet service… look elsewhere.

I don’t have this cable provider, my sister does. And I have absolutely nothing good to say about them! The rates are high, the representatives give a different story each time you call, and the service techs don’t know squat! My sister had a trouble call today and the tech fed her husband a bunch of crap! I refuse to use them as my provider, they are lazy, clueless and worthless!

Zero stars. Don’t make the mistake of signing up with Charter! Look at Charter’s terrible reviews everywhere. Consumerist magazine(not-for-profit subsidiary of Consumer Reports) calls Charter the«worst company in America.» It’s no wonder Charter went bankrupt a few years ago. This sleazy firm’s business practices include: — cutting your satellite cable, then insisting that customer fight with Charter’s 3rd party unlicensed contractor instead of honestly owning up to their mistake and correcting it. — moving your first bill due date ahead after first bill, without prior notification(told this is a «standard» Charter procedure on 2nd bill) — insisting that customers wait 45 days(unbelievable but true) for Charter’s Autopay system to take effect, then warning that double payments may occur when customer attempts to make a one-time payment prior to the interim due date(as a safety measure) — moving from CSR agents in South Carolina to the Phillipines, where they lie to customers by claiming healthy account status with zero problems and confirming Autopay sign up weeks ago, then cutting off all services including(Emergency 911) shortly thereafter, without prior notice — migrating from helpful humans to speak with or chat online(about no-service issues) to worthless automated systems — poor no-service reliability I really wanted to love Charter. Our credit history is well above 700 and we always pay bills on time. But after several serious attempts to cooperate with Charter, acting as a good customer to straighten out their billing errors, all of our attempts have been futile. I recommend that prospective customers view the 800+ complaints about Charter on another website, plus other sites, before wasting your time. If you like unethical business practices, you’ll love Charter!

I have had charter for years. 75% on demand doesnt work. When the cable goes out on internet youre directed to India where the workers do not understand one thing you are saying. They had me completely dismantling my computer and router. I asked for an American and they had no one there American. I asked for Billing, to get credit for the 48 hours I had no service, again no American to understand what I wanted. I am looking for a new company who actually leaves jobs in the United States.
