I miss the good old days of a legit Laundromat with decent employees/customers, quarters, working machines, etc. You have to pay a dollar to get their laundry card, what? Never heard of that in the south suburbs. The floors are sticky and machines are quite disgusting with hair and slimy residue from previous washes. The customers here are rude as well. Who runs this place, no face to connect this place to? They probably just come here to collect the cash and run off. After three strikes, you are out. Go to the Laundromat in the Fairplay plaza on 95th.

If you like dirty filthy surroundings and old filthy unkempt washing machines, then this is the place for you! If you like paying a dollar just to get a prepaid laundry card and then put it in a useless washing machine or dryer, then this is the place for you. If none of this appeals to you, run like hell from this place! Oh, and where does the owner get 3.79 for a wash and 39 cents for a dryer from, and you are left with 33 cents on your laundry card? What a rip off! This place doesn’t deserve a star rating. Period.

The majority of the washers at Hickory Hills Soap Opera Laundromat had mold inside of the detergent, bleach and softener components. I did my best to clean it and informed the employee. She told me that the mold would not go into my clothes. I paid $ 10.00 and continued the washing process. After a few minutes, I noticed that in fact the mold from the components was indeed flushing into my clothes. She apologized and wrote a report for the owner on Monday May 25, 2015. She advised for me to call and I left several messages and have not heard back from the owner. I went up to the facility and asked an employee to please call him directly; he answered and stated a refund will be issued. It has been over 2 weeks and I still have not received my refund. I have experience terrible customer service and the utmost disrespect from the owner.

Will never come here again… rip off prices terrible dryers and not enough… the person that works here tried to take the only 2 dryers… this place sucks!

These people are rude, unprofessional, and lack customer service. I sent them a letter regarding my experience provided below. I will provide you with all the dialog so that you can formulate your own opinion. Saturday night, November 2, 2013, I visited your Hickory Hills location. I have been a satisfied customer since I moved to the area two years ago. So in fact, I recommended my sister to do her laundry at this location. I arrived with myself, my sister, and our laundry looking forward to another great experience. To our dismay, we were highly disappointed. When we arrived, there was a woman there with her children with about five months worth of laundry. She used nearly every cart in the facility. When I arrived, I waited 30 minutes for her to hold the large machines hostage as she sorted her laundry. Beyond the initial 30 minutes, she kept her clothes in the machines, without use for another hour and a half. I can estimate the time because we ordered a pizza and had to wait 20 minutes for the pizza to be ready and we came back and dined in my vehicle. We left to pick up the pizza and returned to find the lady still sorting placing her clothes in the machine without use. At this time, I grew frustrated and found the attendant. I ask her what is the policy on use of the machines? She replied that customers can use the machine as long as the’d like. I left and continued waiting in front of the facility in my van. The reason that I continued waiting was because I had oversize laundry to wash. While we were waiting, two more cars arrived needing to use the unused(but occupied) machines. Again, I located the attendant, I believe her name was Julie. After about a 45 minute absence, the attendant resurfaced back to the laundry facility with a gentleman. I asked her again about the machines; requesting that she ask the people holding the machines hostage to move there items so that other people can use the machines since they still were not using them. One of the people in the party replied that her mother had left the facility to get more clothes still with the clothes in the machine with no use. Again, myself, my guest, and two other families waited. I confronted the attendant and asked her to please free up the machines, her final reply was for me to stuff my oversized items in your small machines. I explained to her that the items were too large and if I’d done as she requested, it would damage the machines. She then told me to leave and go wash my clothes at another facility. I sat there for an additional 30 minutes because I was too upset to drive at that moment. As we decided to leave 35 minutes later, the lady returned to the facility with more laundry. We ended up waiting a total of two hours for the machines and was never allowed to do our laundry. To say the least, I was furious. I am not only a customer, but I came in to your facility with a referral customer. I am embarrassed to have suggested Soap Opera to do our laundry and to provide our business. Since your attendant suggested that I give my business to another laundry facility, I am requesting a full refund of the money that I put on my laundry card to wash. I am saddened by this ugly portray of unprofessional service. I really did enjoy coming here. But, I will not compromise my self-respect and right to quality customer service to such behavior. Please give me a call to discuss how I can be reimbursed since your agent has advised me to take my business elsewhere.

They have the biggest wash machine in Chicagoland, They are 24 hours, but the attendant is not there after 10p.m. The reason why I gave them a 3 star is I wish the facility was a lot cleaner, I guess I didn’t notice this the first time I went, but around their machine and the floor is really dirty.
